It can't even manage 1080 in solo most of the time.

Forcing the game to run at 60fps in split screen, the way it is now, would render the game at almost certainly sub-HD levels.

The way the game is built, split screen would be atrocious. The amount of texture pop in even in solo play is very VERY noticeable so it would be close to unplayable in split screen.

It's not a problem they can fix now, but they should have never built the game that way in the first place. They should have prioritized split screen and solid resolution over "WE NEED 60FPS"

There is but one feasible solution: run the game in 30 fps. I'll take that any day over what we have now. They sacrificed too much.

Split screen in all honesty always played like shit in co-op. No splitscreen in MP kinda sucks, but doesn't affect me.

The graphics in H5 aren't anything to write home about, but the 60fps is wonderful.

Cortana contacts chief, tells him to get to meridian so when she wakes another Guardian Chief can go with

Chief goes awol with blue team to find Cortana

Locke and Osiris need to bring him back

Cortana is gonna use the guardians to police the galaxy

Chief is mad cause waking the guardians killed civvies

She kidnaps chief and goes on a power trip going to start policing, convinces the ais to join with her

Locke with the help of the monitor of the forerunner planet genesis aka cortanas makeshift base takes back chief

Cortana and the ais start shutting down everything, legendary ending is there's a new halo installation floating around

Also Arbiter is there and he finally killed the rest of the covenant.

I'll cut allot of the unnecessary filler with Locke out, Cortana lives, but its just a shell of her former self its assumed that its one of her rampant copies she split off at the end of 4. She gained access to the forerunner domain and proceeded to give the universe a new one with the awakening of the guardians. she basically wants galactic rule over the galaxy in a forced unified peace, very supervillian level stuff. she did manage to get every UNSC AI on her side save for Roland (Infinity's AI) and did a EMP burst on the galaxy to make it a new dark age.

Chief finds out and proceeds to reason with her only for it to fail and him and blue team getting locked in one of the Cryptum, only to be saved later by Osiris.

She gets away, blue team gets saved, and now the infinity and everyone main character wise are regrouping with Arby on Sanghelios to figure out how to stop her, yeah ends their we got another Halo 2 cliffhanger.

Meanwhile Cortana is powering up Halos in the legendary ending.

Game is seriously lacking memerable levels.
First mission is fine. Second mission is pretty good. Missions 3-6 should be one mission, two at the most. Use checkpoint alpha, beta, etc. instead of making them completely seperate levels. Same goes for missions 8-10. Should be one mission.
Lose the scripted bullshit.
Either lose the squadmates or make them literally follow the leader like a FFVI party member. Add more command controls, even if that means pausing the game to bring up a command wheel for each squadmate. If a squadmate dies, either don't have them come back or make it revert to checkpoint if they die, because right now they're just meat to throw at enemies. Let us swap weapons with them.
And for God's sake, lose the hub world missions, just make them cutscenes.

>Story
Not going to tell them to change their story because if the campaign is well crafted enough, nobody will care if the story sucks. Well, casuals will, but fuck them. Either way, we shouldn't be spending development time on the story when the campaign needs serious tuning.
The one thing I'll say is either make the nartitive less chief-centric or give chief more missions.

>Visual
Render the game at a lower resolution. We will survive. This amount of visual pop in is rediculous. If the art direction is good enough, nobody will care. Ryse was a piece of shit, but at 900p it's still the best looking game on either X1 or PS4 because if the art direction. H5 might need an even lower res than that but with proper art direction it would look better at that resolution than it does now.

>Multiplayer
For the most part it's fine. It's clear this is where 90% of your effort went.
Here's what you. Give all the map responsibilities to Hoberman's team at Certain Affinity in Texas. They will make better maps than you. They HAVE made better maps than you. Meanwhile you can divert more personnel to the campaign and maybe even your sad excuse for a plot.

shut the fuck up, all character further further away from your pov animate at 60fps in h5. that's not real 60fps you fucking idiots.

this game has dynamic resolution AND dynamic framerate, the majority of the lighting is pre-baked, shadows are constantly missing when further away from the camera, your flashlight casts no shadows when hitting any level geometry, there is super aggressive lod pop in, all the forerunner levels look atrociously monotonous just like in 4, combat arenas are small, shit is too linear, encounter design is just plain bad, they fucked up the aiming and the list goes on and on.

if you think this game lives up to the series' standards, think again. either you haven't played the original trilogy or it's been too long. 343 was either overambitious and too stupid to readjust accordingly down the road, simply not skilled enough to push this console to the limit or the xbox one is just too weak. whatever the case may be, it's bad. just let it go, halo is dead to me. nothing lasts forever.

Spoilers: tl;dr Cortana goes apeshit which is why Chief went looking for her. She basically tries to wipe out humanity for no fucking reason besides MUH AI, MUH GUARDIANS. And even though she died in 4, she's back for some convoluted reason

I am really glad I didn't buy this, or an xbone for that matter.
