It's a series. Anyways, game-play wise it doesn't hold up all to well, but the writing is fucking fantastic. It's block-puzzle: the game with some exploration and combat well. Definitely worth checking out if you like games with good story.

There's shit like that all the time. Civ V is notorious for this. On a sale you can get Civ V Complete that comes with EVERYTHING, for $12. They still sell the base game for $6 and one big expansion for $6, but not the rest of the DLC so if you have the base game you're esentially forced to buy it for $12 again.

I didn't beat the finish the game for a number of reasons, but quality wasn't one of them. It's a surprisingly solid little JRPG. I'd recommend it.

Gameplay's pretty subpar, but for some people, the cute/funny atmosphere will makeup for it. I'd say buy it if you're a fan of slice of life manga/anime like K-On! or Azumanga Daioh, since that's the kind of experience you're going to get.

Is Space Hulk Ascension worth the 14 EUR? Another option is to wait for -66% or -75% during Winter Sale.

I heard players claims that Ascension is broken after latest patch and devs basically abandoned the game, while only one guy tries to fix it.

The other option at sale, from my wish list, is Red Solstice, but dont know if it will be fun for solo play.

I really do recommend The Long Dark. It's a really fun game, though hard as fuck when you first start. I know people have been burned out over the 10,000 other, "open world post apocalyptic survival games," but the game is unique enough to stand out. It gets constant updates and patches, they just released a completely new area to explore called Desolation Point. They're are no zombies or bandits roaming around trying to kill you, your only enemy is the Canadian wildernesses. And it actually makes you explore by making items rare enough so you have to explore other buildings, and after a while you might have to enter a completely different area once you've scavenged everything.

I would say the atmosphere is the main selling point and its top notch, really nails that comfy mountain town. Combat is less than stellar, writing isn't superb but if you aren't expecting steven king you won't be that disappointed.

Latest patch was rushed. Haven't played with it, but before it the game was really stable and reliable.
The issues with patch are basically some missions not being possible to finish, but the game is partially non linear, so you can still play campaigns just fine avoiding those missions. Players made guides on forums how to evade buggy missions.
>devs basically abandoned the game, while only one guy tries to fix it.
Developer company has died and the later is true, it's just one of the ex devs working on it.

So your options are either buy now and follow guides to skip fucked content or wait a few months in hopes of game being fully fixed by fans/exdevs.

Game itself is pretty good, if a bit simple mechanically for a tactical strategy/rpg.
Easily my favourite recent WH40k game and one of the few games I've actually went and bought dlc after I've completed it. (Out of 4 dlc, 1 is cosmetic shit, 3 are good content packs) Before devs died they also provided pretty good support for game, including free content like extra guns and whatever.
Real shame to see the game in its current state.

I thought the story was actually pretty fun, combine that with the running away (instead of standing your ground constantly) and you can put away the game in a reasonable amount of time while enjoying yourself

The writing's very nice with a lot of humor, one of the guys who made the game also has two novels out based on the setting. As for gameplay, there's lots of customization for your ship, ranging from snipers to stealthy rogues and acrobatic fighters and so on. There's even multiplayer, with PVP and Survival modes, though its an underrated game so its not easy to find people to play with.

From the 3 hours I've played of it, its comfy atmosphere gave a good first impression.
The colorful 3D environments mixed with Golden Sun-like sprites and really good music blend well together.

If you liked the original's Dead man's switch campaign, then Dragonfall is a LOT better with characters, settings, and combat is a bit different than I remember how DMS' was.
For the price its pretty good and I say get it.

Story isn't all that important in Hitman games and Blood Money works as a standalone.
Though if you're ever planning on playing the earlier games it's going to feel weird since BM has the most developed mechanics of the bunch. The first game is genuinely a bad game with one good mission and I'd recommend everyone to skip it. The second and third games are both pretty good.

Trails in the Sky. It's at the lowest price it typically goes to and is a pretty good JRPG if you're cool with those.

It's also one of those instances where they went out of their way to make the PC version the best version, which is nice. They even backported all of the PSP-exclusive content and PS3-exclusive artwork in both it and its sequel just for the hell of it.

I got like $5 and some change on GMG credit and I've gotta use it because they're wiping it out later this month and all that. What do I buy? I've been craving shmups but I doubt they will put any of those on sale any time soon.

The only thing in there so far that caught my interest is Metro Last Light Redux, I've got the original non-redux Metro 2033 and to be honest I was mostly disappointed since I went in expecting STALKER and got a linear game instead.

Its a 3D platformer (some call it metroidvania as well but I don't really know what that means). The platforming is fairly solid, and the puzzles that aren't block puzzles are pretty good. The writing and voice work take center stage though as well as the soundtrack and atmosphere. The game feels really rushed at the end though because the development was super rushed.

>LoK 2
Same as before only with less platforming and puzzles and a stronger combat focus which is both good and bad. The combat in the first game was bland as hell but the 2nd isn't that much of an improvement. The writing and acting are still top notch even though the plot gets very convoluted.

>Blood Omen 2
Probably the worst in the series due to its weak plot. The gameplay is arguably the best its been for combat, but the story and characters seem extremely underwhelming.

>Defiance
Haven't played it yet but its supposed to be pretty good.

All fairly good games, especially if you like vampires as the games lore is really interesting and unique feeling

Only game on this list that fits the criteria of 'spooky' while actually being worth the money is Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and you can get that cheaper elsewhere even then.

BioShock is the classic but 2 was a hell of a lot of fun. If you can afford it, get both. If you can only afford a single game, get 1 if you want horror and 2 if you want fun. If you like the Elizabeth stuff from Infinite then you definitely want to see her prototype in 2.
