>>314854518The only way that the SnS becomes better than the DB and even remotely comparable to the rest of the weapons is when you stick to the monster like you were fucking glued to them. Know just how far you can be to avoid getting hits, memorize the tells/AI of the monster, and USE YOUR SHIELD. Even if you get knocked back and slide while blocking, you're invincible the entire slide until you stop. It will still hurt, but its going to hurt a whole lot less than what it would have been. Assuming the attack isn't a laser, you can block attacks that would normally cart you and take piddly shit damage instead.
Also, just like the DB, you need a SnS for literally every situation. It isn't like the Hammer or GS where you just get the biggest number and run with it. So it'll be expensive and also a pain in the dick.
You have to balance the raw and element of each of the actual elements. For status SnS's, just grab the most status SnS, barring the Rathian SnS that shits on the other poison SnS's to an unreal degree with the difference in raw.
But for elements like dragon, there is a handful, and you'll want at least two; the Eternal Fury line for that FAT STACK OF SIX HUNDRED DRAGON, SON, and either the Stiggy Ziggy line or the Magala line, depending if you prefer raw or affinity. You'll have to do this for literally every element except fire because no variety, Rathalos Only, Final Destination.
Raw only SnS's are garbage 99% of the time; if you just want damage/a general use SnS for multi-monster hunts, take a Blast or high raw Poison (Rathian) SnS.
Also good luck hunting shit like the Gravios or Rathalos with the SnS. You'll need it.
Some SnSs are just fucking pointless and you can skip if you're not a collector. Gravios SnS brings shame to its family. As do the Velocidrome and Iodrome SnS's.
