GTA IV felt like it had realistic driving. The only problem is that none of tires would fucking grip.
I personally blame throttle control on part of the players and keyboard controls.

Dark Souls and GTA4 are both casual games by comparison to other games in their genre. Certainly "mainstream", at any rate. But the problem with GTA4 is not that it's too hard, it's that it doesn't approximate physics in a realistic way. Tyre grip is too low, and like absolutely all GTA games car top speeds are much too low. Tyre deformation wasn't modelled (it was in Mafia 2), and the cars always feel like they're steering from their center rather than from their wheels. If I can take the time to learn how to drive in Richard Burns Rally, I don't think the problem is that I am too stupid to 'learn' GTA4. It's predictable and all, and it's easy to not crash, but it just doesn't feel either fun or realistic.

You do know that many race classes in real life don't really use brakes heavily, right? The point of going fast around a corner is that yeah, some cars do need to break like those with stiff steering, but it shouldn't be happening with a super car or sports car. They didn't even differentiate between well-tuned cars and muscle cars.

Oh yeah, brakes shouldn't be needed to go around a corner at 5mph, idiot. The boat controls are stupid. They're more realistic than 3/VC/SA and GTAV, but they're not Gran Turismo or Forza types of accuracy.

Soft crap suspension and oversteer out the ass. Along with no fucking grip because there is too much torque spinning little wheels.

Now the infernus and sultan RS, being two gems, I say handle really fucking well. Along with the other highly powered RWD cars in that game.

But, this is literally coming from someone with hydraulics in his towncar and Nos in his Crown vic. Sue me.

Worse driving than GTA IV does not mean bad. It means it's not as good as GTA IV.

San Andreas, Sleeping Dogs, GTA III, Vice City, and GTAV all have worse driving than GTA IV. But the driving in none of these games is bad.

Actually the beginning felt nothing like a GTA game and it was rather jarring, but the deeper in to the game you get the more it becomes like classic GTA in gameplay , tone , and humor

But iRacing's tire model is complete garbage. If /v/ knew what the developers of iRacing were like, they'd be up there with EA and ubisoft. They have a history of suing modders because their content was better than the base game.
