>>314866523Not anymore. See, the New Testament and the catholic teachings about free will.
Even those that do not believe in God but do his works are doing the will of God, and thus will actually be rewarded after death.
Because the will of God is the will of man. We further humanity, and we are doing good. Helping our species to rise is his will.
Last time he bailed us out was Jesus.
Moses was because the world was a shithole. And yet they were not man. Only Moses was.
It's a parable anyway. It's not mythology like many people want to say. The Old Testament might as well be cast away, but these parables are good tools of learning.
I don't know where this shit about the Old Testament stories having to be true comes from, but it's stupid. Any catholic religion course teaches you that before your first communion and confirmation.
Heretics take that shit too seriously, but that's the reason I don't talk about my faith as being "Christian". If you lump all faiths together it becomes a clusterfuck, so don't do that. Some match up more than others, some are complete and utter heresy. (Fucking baptists and Calvinist cunts)
First lesson in catholic religion is the book of Genesis. First question everyone has as a child is if it's real, and some cunt won't raise his hand and say of course it's not we are taught this acting like a smartass and the teacher will say yeah it's a parable you cheeky fuck, of course it's not real and you should read the New Testament for your answer explained in detail.
The explaination is just how to move forward. Nobody of the catholic faith really believes that the Old Testament parables are real, right?
some people probably do but they're ignorant. Nonetheless theology opens up people to the very beginning of philosophical thought, and these parables make people reflect on what the creation of this world really was like. It drives them to move to questioning what made our consiousness.
It's pretty cool.
