I have the enhanced edition and I can confirm that its fine. Idk what the big deal is honestly. But you should definitely get mods for whichever version you get. Works on steam too.

I loved the first one and stopped playing once they started face fucking me with character history and emotions I didn't give a fuck about on the seconds one. That's why I prefer Fallout 1 and 2 to Baldurs. You are a clean sleight.

If you want a good plot in vidya gaym play through Legacy of Kain series and Deus Ex. Also Planetscape Torment and maybe Meduhl Gehr. Everything else falls flat on their ass.
