Does anyone else use SMT to help them fall asleep? Please note that I don't mean this in a bad way at all; I have pretty bad insomnia and the SMT games are super comfy so they help me relax. My game playtimes are massively inflated since I'll often fall asleep in front of my PS2.

I just started DDS last night; the combination of classic Press Turn and Meguro's chill-as-fuck guitars is making it one of my favorites so far. Looks like a couple others here picked it up recently too, so that's cool.

At what point in SMT 1 are you locked into your alignment ending? I want to get the neutral ending so i've been trying to stay neutral, but I just did the bit where I refused to help Yama in Ikebukero and it sent me from neutral to law alignment. Yes but the easiest way to be neutral its by accepting either Echidna (If you are Law) or Haniel (If you are Chaos) request. Or beat both if your already neutral.

Also defeating enemies affect your alignment (If you beat Chaos demons for example you earn law points)

Sort of, but not really. If you want Atma hunting spots usually do the trick. By the endgame you should have plenty regardless, so unless you want to max out everyone you don't need to bother. It is pretty useful on one or two guys though.

I don't get why everyone loves the True Demon End. It just seems immature and maladjusted, like a rebellious 16-year-old who refuses to do what his parents say not because his parents are complete imbeciles who can't count to 5 and think DVDs need to be rewound, but just to mask his hormonal insecurities and misdirected anger. But all the other possible paths of Nocturne seem like better choices from a cost/benefit perspective. TDE kills Kagutsuchi forever, causing the end of time, which means all the mortals are dead and the demons and angels are going to war. The demons' free will was never taken away, thus not needing restoration, and humans can only have free will if they're alive in some form. At best you can say it's about protecting the preexisting free will of demons by making war on the greatest threat to their free will, but in the process killing all humans (unless you count Dante as human, or are playing the Raidou version in which case there's Raidou). What's even the point of agility in DDS? Since you don't really need it to go first, it's just for accuracy/evasion, right? Sure that not missing, evading can be good, but Gale's stats seem to go to waste since he has a lot of agility that could be str or mag

Party members who aren't in the party and don't have Mutual Karma equipped won't get experience, and they won't get any AP unless someone on the party has that AP share skill equipped and devours enemies, so they will fall behind. But really, in DDS1 no matter what team you go with, if you just pick three and stay with them you'll be fine, but DDS2 is a bitch with randomly taking party members away, so in that one it is best to have a balance and to get those moves to share AP and Karma.

I don't remember how far away Beldr is, but if you get your MC a demon with flight, and another with whatever the skill is that increases your movement to 7, you should be able to get to Beldr in a single turn. Then when you reach him, return the demon with flight and summon one with that double hit passive so that you can attack twice in a turn, and if you get lucky with Extra Turns you should get like 3-4 hits on him, so at least 150 damage each time. You'll want to rush in the other humans to defend you as well. Also, I don't remember how much it should be doing at that point, but the damage ti does is based on your level, so it is entirely possible you're just under leveled.

No, Mutual Karma is just for the Karma (experience), and AP can only be spread out with AP Divide which works differently in that you equip it on the person doing the devouring so then the AP gets split up for the whole party, including those not in battle.

Yes. AP Divide just lets everyone get some of the AP instead of just having the person who devours get it all.

AP Bonus only helps the person who has equipped though.

If you kill enemies without devouring them everyone gets a little bit of AP

But if you devour someone all that AP goes to the person who devoured

If someone who has AP Divide devours an enemy instead of it just going to the person, everyone else will get some of the AP which is more than what you'd get if you just killed all the enemies normally.

Yes. You can fight the bonus bosses without going into NG+ and I think you get extra accessories if you import. Also, if you made the right choices throughout the entirety of DDS1 and DDS2, you get some special stuff towards the end of DDS2.

Okay /smtg/, you suddenly have access to a Devil Summoning device. The catch is, instead of something as abstract as your 'level,' your limits on summoning / fusion are based on how old you are. Luck seems fairly high so maybe thats a problem for fiends encounter rate.

If you plan to replay SJ (To fight Demiurge) i think you should just forget about the Fiends.

I have also read that the final upgrade of enemy search increases their encounter, not sure if true though.

Only Fiend i searched for was Matador because for fusion, and Black because of his forma is required for Golden Gun(aka, cheese Tiamat).

Pale and White came by utter chance. White moreso because it was with Search A.

You can just make an endgame save in a separate slot and do the TDE on your main one, then use the spare save to do whatever. If you want. Though the Reason endings require you to answer questions correctly throughout the game

I think Infernal Tokyo was safe because the ICBM plot was thwarted very quickly. Since those who fired the ICBM's are Law aligned it only makes sense that they were blown the fuck out by Chaos factions because they were the ones seizing power. Unlike in the normal world where neither side is rallying enough support allowing Masakado to form the barrier in time before its too late.

Atsuro is one of the best bros in any SMT game. He is infact the ONLY party member to go along with you, no matter WHAT route you pick.

Amane is genuine in wanting good for others. That's what makes her pretty much the only good law rep out of most SMT games.

Haru is pretty realistic too, which helps. Her backstory is sad though.

Keisuke's stats might seem shit at first, but he's good at certain setups, like statuses, and as a utility assassin, because his agility is really high.

Oh, it's the one where the OP goes on about IV being intended for young boys and then talks about plotholes (a few of which aren't really plotholes in the sense that it contradicts something, just unexplained stuff) and rightfully talks about how poorly characterized the reps are. The author seems to really like bashing IV in general if his tumblr is anything to go by. I'd say a few of his complaints are justified, but not most the plot ones. Only serious issue with its plot was that it drags at one point. IV's a good game regardless and is probably the best entry point to SMT that we have currently.

Play SMT IV. It's a good /game/. Battles are fast, bosses are fun (mostly) and demon fusion and negotiation are top notch. Also the endings are all so bad they're good except The White which is the best ending and should be canon.

It has a point though, most new demons were shit, no VIT stat, characters and concepts blown away in the wind before they really got explored, it should've been deeper and not as simple.
