Does anyone know a macro to change certain slots on one of my hotbars to correspond with different summons abilities? I've been using keybinds on the pet hotbar with no problem up until I got Ifrit and noticed his autoattack is in the 3rd to last slot instead of the 4th like every single other summon which fucks up my keybinds.

The first number of each command is the hotbar, and the second number is the slot of that hotbar (from left to right, from up to down).

PLD, WAR, and DRK have mounts they get for Tanking 200 end game instances, being Coil, Extreme Primals, and Alexander (both).

It was an incentive for people to actually Tank things, especially T4 since Tanks would not queue up for it due to First Coil's bullshit loot layout.

You'll never see a dungeon more quit out on by shitty tanks than AV.

It's not even that the dungeon is hard either, they just can't handle the way the mobs are dispersed, or the fact there's a boss without aoe indicators who can wreck everyone's faces in.

There's pretty much no reason for people to be so ass-blasted by it.

Anyone whose time is so precious they can't run AV shouldn't queue up for a goddamn leveling roulette.

I honestly pay for the story
One thing that bothers me is that I almost feel as if my progression is pointless when it comes to gear.

I think I need to pick up a dps but smn just feels so boring to me (i main sch) and for the most part it feels like im just playing the same class except instead of healing i manage my timing on trance, to make sure I get two festers in every tance

is there any dps that isnt mindless? I have a 50 mnk but even thats pretty fucking easy (did 630 dps in i130 gear with tomestone wep in 2.5)

Are these new airship misisons supposed to be actually good? I love the game and shit but I find it hard to justify a sub

please yoshi, add in sub for gil, it's worthless anyways and if its anything like 3.0 launch, you cant even buy power other than potentially relic

In a lot of cases you just keep using eye when you need to use path, because most of the times if you have a DRK mt he/she will probably just be using 1 DA'd powerslash then just use Souleater/Delirum combos.

20 potency is made up from the 10% mitigation you get passively on healers as long as they arent retarded. If they are retarded and not dpsing the difference between path and bb is going to be minimal anyways.

It will always equate to a DPS increase on healers since you're only gaining 2.85 potency per second, or like 7-8 dps on a fully geared warrior, if you assume you gain 20 potency every 7 GCDS (2 combos, 1 extra assumed GCD for Cleave/Fracture).

Having to heal a flat out 10% less of the time is way more than sub 10 dps for a tank.

Yeah, I'm sure you really need that Path up when people have been tanking all 3 bosses in DPS stance for a long time. It's useless because the bosses are comparatively weak compared to ARR ones, and even ones with huge autoattacks like Phoenix didn't need it up. You're reducing a 4k autoattack by 400, you won't even notice the difference on your health bar.

Celestial Opposition's stun effect isn't that useful since most duty monsters are immune. At least there is beneficial effect increase (i hope it applies to all of the buffs and not the buffs you casted yourself), and that it costs no MP at all.

Which NA servers are good for raiding during 7pm to 10pm GMT +0 or 6pm to 9pm GMT -5? I hear that Gilgamesh is good, but checking the OF I don't see many statics that raid during those times. A couple threads back someone asked what are the worst bosses in the game. For "mini", "sub" and "dungeon" bosses all three of Halatali's topped the list.
Each has mechanics that (to deal with) force you to stop DPSing the boss, and the latter two have invincibility phases. It's also generally boring as fuck, overly-long, and drops crappy/ugly gear even for its level.

It's nothing compared to Aurum Vale, and that dungeon is more tedious with its trash pulls than it is bad. It's the bad players that make things worse.

The trend continues in later content, anon. On the bright side, there's a chance that you'll encounter undergeared tanks who actively rotate their cooldowns to make up for the gear disparity. Pic-related, I was pleasantly surprised that I was still able to DPS with this tank, although he ended up losing aggro on multiple occasions between myself and the DPS so damage was more spread out rather than focused. Just hope that you come across such folk more often than the ignorant players who don't even bother to make things easier with proper cooldown rotations.

How far along are you in levelling your SCH, anon? Healing can be hell for many, but if you hang in there it'll make you a better player.

A good paladin still has fucking ridiculous survivability in dungeons. But if you have a paladin you NEED a healer that will dps or you'll end up doing a fucking half hour run and everybody will hate everybody else by the end of it.

Now, I come from EQ/WoW/ToR/SW:G and City of Heroes/Villains and I know my way around autists talking about min/maxing and casual folks who legitimately picked an everquest ranger pre-PoP, non healing hybrids in WoW pre-cata, non-rifleman/swordsman in SWG pre-CU and so on.

Are monks as bad for dps as folks say? Am I a healing druids pre-PoP in EQ? Am I a shadow priest pre-WOTLK in WoW?

Or are monks... decent?

That's partly why I DPS whenever I roll as a healer. Even though it isn't required, it does help to speed things up and it's more efficient than standing around watching HP bars (it's this game equivalent of watching paint dry). More healers need to get comfortable with assisting with DPS. It will save many people from headaches.

FC is wrong, monk is ridiculously good. The DPS classes are all very well balanced. BUUUUUT the thing is, ninja and dragoon bring really really strong party buffs, so you're going to have to fight for a raid slot. Honestly, I'm not sure why people still think they need to bring a caster. I mean other than the fact that five melees on the same target all getting targetted by AOEs gets really stupid really fast.

Because BLM does competitive numbers and SMN shits on A2s. Not only that but gearing is a lot less painful when you dont have 1/5th of your gear not going to the floor. Casters also deal with mechanics easier than melee do. The better question is why WOULD you want 3 melee when BLM does just as much along with good defensive utility.

Monk personal DPS is among the best in the game, although it tends to be slightly behind the effective DPS of a Dragoon when you factor in Disembowel and Battle Litany, and can be behind casters in certain fights.

They do more damage than Ninjas (taking into account that Ninja's effective DPS is higher than their personal DPS due to Trick Attack), but Ninjas tend to bring really nice utility (Goad, Shadewalker, to a lesser extent Smoke Screen) that makes them more appealing to a lot of groups.

Monks were indispensable in 2.x because the relative importance of mitigation and healing compared to DPS was a lot higher, and in 2.x they were the only sources of INT Down, and they had the useful (traited) version of Mantra.
In 3.0 so far, though, it's been all about slashing your mitigation, defense, and healing to the bone in order to squeeze out more DPS, so those things are of less value, and on top of that, DRK has the INT Down debuff now, and DRK is pretty indisputably the best main tank for Savage Gordias progression. Which leaves Monks with Mantra, and not much else to really distinguish them.

Savage being a somewhat mindless dps race actually opens up more party configurations than before. Six melees would be stupid as hell, but there's nothing explicitly preventing you from doing that.

Again, you're treating melee like they actually beat a BLM in DPS, which they dont. It's easier to gear different classes in a static, and BLM offers good defensive utility in apoc/i4i/virus. NIN and DRG dont get anything from double stacking their classes since WAR exists for NIN and DRG is locked into Disembowl because of CT. MNK is the only thing that benefits from more than one of its class, and even then the gain isnt high enough to warrant the loss you have to deal with from 3 melee doing mechanics/sharing space. DRG + Phys Range + Caster + NIN/MNK is really just the best setup for DPS is all.

Sorry but no, as much as I like the idea of being a cat archer/bard I am unable to do the whole non-exp bonus/glamour grind again.

Also I find that many cats lack the muscle tone, height, bust and non-fat face that over the years I have come to grown to love as well as hairstyles that are semi-relateable, which sounds retarded even though I am not hitting backspace to cover up my true feelings twards most cat hairstyles.

The only reason Casters are lower in a4s is because you sac ranged over melee because once again, they are easier to do mechanics with.

The only reason you take 1 DRG is for BRD disembowl + Litany. The only reason you take 1 NIN is for Trick Attack. You take MNK for good damage but can easily be replaced by a caster. It's just easier to spread your gear out.

The reason 2.1 was so great was all the QoL implementations, PvP, Mandeville quests, Crystal Tower and above all else - the three EX primals, which offered raid-level weapons on a weekly lockout and accessories without
2.1 has Airship exploration (probably a mindless zergfest) and 1 EX primal. And that's after 5 months wait.

So yeah, it's dead on arrival.

I was under the impression airship exploration would only drop gear?
Regardless, I assume that either the drop rate on i210 gear will be shit, the gear won't have secondary stats linked to your role (so you might obtain a Fending chest with piety and skill speed, etc., diluting the pool of desirable secondary stats), or there'll be some arbitrary lockout limiting the number of loot you can obtain per week.

And EX primals might be rehashed but they were fresh enough that i didn't feel compelled to unsubscribe like I have been for 3 months now.
Calling story primals "hard mode" was of the dumbest things SE has ever done, because it limits the number of times they can recycle those assets.

It basically depends on how the airship stuff turns out. If it's a brainless zerg like hunts/fates (which it probably will be), then the only thing 3.1 will bring to the table is that it'll be the first time ever since launch that you can gear up as many jobs as you want to max-iLevel (without giving you anything important to do with those maxed classes).

There's an outside chance that it'll turn out to be something new, fun, or interesting, though, and if they do manage to make it good, 3.1 will genuinely be a really good patch.

We'll probably find out which way it goes at the Live Letter in a couple hours.

And while that may have been their intent with the instance nomenclature, calling the newer 8-man story primals Hard Mode when there isn't an easy mode is as confusing as it is wasteful.

I actually think that it would be fine for them to make it so that you can do Hunts for the standard tomestone upgrade items, but have actual aetherial i210 gear from expeditions.

One of the things that I think contributes a lot to this game feeling kind of boring and unrewarding is that they have a habit of consolidating everything into different ways to acquire the same currencies that buy the same items. I'd really like to see them move into completely separate, parallel gear upgrade paths.

You'll most likely have a 12 hour cooldown on them, the airship exploration map looks like what should be sector 23 and the current ship exploration have a minimum time set of 12 hours.

Assuming you're doing 8-man content with a co-healer that is a WHM or another AST? Apply Adloquium/Nocturnal Benefic on the tank before a tank buster lands, and Succor/Nocturnal Helios before heavy raid-wide damage. Aside from that, you just look after the bulk of the healer DPS while providing assistive healing. You might have to do more healing as an AST in Nocturnal Sect than a SCH because you don't have a fairy.

Did they ever actually say that, or is that just something that people came up with that fit the pattern? I don't think SE names them that way for any reason other than that they didn't want to have to release "Hard" trials that were tougher than any of the "Extreme" trials.
