Three groups.
Village, Mafia, and Third Party.
Village's goal is to find out who the mafs are, and lynch them.
Mafia's goal is to KILL EVERYONE but other mafs.
Third party have varying goals, depending on the role.

No, I wouldn't do it, but I would imagine Fuyuhiko starting up some sort of semi-criminal yakuza organization that is simply more cutthroat than the FF, but works towards similar goals, making them clash now and again, creating sparks. Then, in AE 2, Byakuya and Fuyuhiko get captured. Peko, awakening from her despair coma, is still in UD mode and breaks out of the facility.

Despite being in UD mode, she retains her loyalty to Fuyuhiko, and, upon hearing about his capture, attempts to bust him out of the hold of the Soldiers of Hope 2, Revengeance-style, while Komaru and Toko try to bust Byakuya out of there as well.

The Soldiers of Hope 2 tell Byakuya and Fuyuhiko that, if either of them kills the other one, they'll be let go, so the goal of both Peko and Komaru/Toko is to bust them out of jail before they murder one another. There are two bad ends, one where Byakuya kills Fuyuhiko, and the other is vice-versa.

Is that good enough?

Is there any game out there that has the same level of stylish presentation as Danganronpa? Even obscure japanese games that we don't have in the west ?
I refuse to believe that Danganronpa is the only series in the entire industry that have that sleak presentation and cool quirky characters with god-tier character designs and awesome music.
If there is one series i wouldn't mind having veen ripped-off, it would be DR.
JUST 2 DR GAMES ISN'T ENOUGH!

So that's how despair feels like....
At least we have the third game coming! And on PS4 no less...
And now i am hopeful.

Well, like the entire premise of Danganronpa is that they are in the best school in the world where they gather the best of the best in any field who had great talent and such and every student is called "Ultimate something " or "Super high schooler something" , if you had any problem with the basic premise you shouldn't play the game in the first place.
The crazy executions from the first case should give you a hint, let's not pretend that the series was super realistic in the first place.

If you convict the wrong person everyone but the blackened gets executed though. Wouldn't work without heavy tweaking.

In that example, you're the murderer. the person doing the killing is merely an accessory. Likewise, setting up someone to accidentally kill someone else is still you forcing their hand.

Essentially, the blackened is the person who consciously chooses to kill someone.

Oh, looks like i misremembered some things about the case, my bad.
It was the weakest case for me where i figured the identity of the killer before we discovered the mureder, it was so obvious and the entire investigation and trial was like a long and boring filler to me.
Case 3 get shat on here a lot but honestly i thought it was really good with a haunting atmosphere.

And case 3 was foreshadowing the remnants of despair, Mikan was the only one who could remember her past self in the game , and looks how that turned out.
Remnants of despair commited horrifying crimes in the past in the name of despair, they don't need any other motive.
It's true that they dropped the ball in the end and did not bother to explain how the murder carried out but otherwise it was solid.

While playing DR2 it was kind of irritating to always read the first names of everyone (or at least those of the guys) especially during the trials when I can actually hear them calling each other mostly by their surname.

What bothers me is that the translator doesn't know what NL is.

Well, if you read DG IF, she fought over 100 monokumas while the 2 turrets from the main gate were shooting her, those turrets were a pair of miniguns.

So yeah, Big boss is fucked, Agent Smith wasnt able to dogde minigun fire, Mukuro handled twice the firepower, while fighting countless Monokumas, and she got out without scratches, maybe the Man on Fire/Alter Volgin is a fair fight.

The change I absolutely don't understand, though, is in DR2 when someone mentions something about RPGs, and Monokuma clearly starts saying "Durago-" before being cut off by Souda, but the subtitle changed it to "Final Fan-" for some reason. That's true. Backstabbing implies a moment of explicit betrayal but considering how much her followers love her she has little reason to betray them that often. Take the kids,she gave them a false hope that she herself never believed in and was only using Monaca due to her talent and position but you can never really say that she backstabbed them. There was no act of betrayal, she just ysed them to get what she wanted and would have let them run wild since their goals matched hers.

Monaca on the other hand is a serious traitor who stupidly lost her most loyal followers by explicitly revealing that she was actively tricking them. This makes me hopeful that Monaca won't be a carbon copy of Junko and will have more variance as a villain than between Junko's two appearances.

Do you guys feel that the 'incentives' for murder in DR1 were aimed at particular people? Celes was the only one with a clear interest for the money and Sayaka seemed like the only one visibly altered by the videos. CH2 is the exception there though, I don't think that particular outcome was intended.

The second one was probably more geared towards certain people. Some of the students probably had really bad secrets like Owada, but Junko couldn't get anything on straight arrows like Naegi.

Considering who was left for the 3rd case I'd say that was definitely aimed at Celes. Junko knew her classmates and knew Celes had a lust for money to fulfill her dream. Maybe to a lesser extent Hagakure too.

I'm touching the new horizons of the bullying, Celes-anon. It's rolling a dice and let the skies decide, who will be lucky enough to receive my whole, undivided attention for one day. Today's lucky winner is Nanami.

Even if Nanami's Bully Target Material Rank is quite low, I'll do anything in my possibilities to not dissapoint herI'm going to put her alarm clock an hour sooner what it should be. I will change place of every single disc and put each in the different Game box. I will put RPG games at the same place as FIFA or Call of Duty.

I'm gonna erase a game data of the every game she hadn't touched for at least 6 mouths. I'm gonna destroy just one button of each of her controllers. I’m gonna borrow her games and never give them back. I’ll rename every single player character at the first opportunity.

When I’ll challenge her for a Pokemon battle, I’ll make sure to use every cheap tactic and use her own IV trained ones legendaries against her and I’ll never forget to disconnect every time I lose. I’ll use her Master Ball on Tentacruel and release her pokemons she spend hours for training.

I'll make Nanami lose her HP, while climbing the statues in the middle island.

Lastly, I will play with her in dual-cooperation games, and take all the items for myself.

So I'm taking some dumb english class at college, and we were having a class discussion. This is just a gen ed to fill elective credit, so I don't really care if I make a fool of myself. So someone started going on about something, but then he said something that was just factually incorrect. Seeing this as a great opportunity, I did the only reasonable thing and yelled out "ALLOW ME TO CUT THROUGH THOSE WORDS," and started explaining why what he just said was bullshit. I earned a couple smirks from the class for being eccentric, and I don't think the professor approved of me literally interrupting him in the middle of a sentence, but it was worth it.

Not a great story, but it was fun for me, and I gotta do something to keep this thread alive.

I've written this already but yes, a few things end up being different.
-Every character gets their time in the spotlight, either during the trials or investigation so it's not just Togami and Kyoko telling everybody what happened.
-There is a new rule in the stage play, anybody who votes for the wrong culprit during a trial gets executed as well. Ishimaru votes wrongly just like in the game, so both him and Mondo die together.
-Because of the above rule, chapter 3 ends up being different, so they just fused it with chapter 4, and it somehow works for the better. Celes's plan doesn't end up being the mess that it was in the game, and play into that character's talent a lot better.
-Because of time constraints, they integrated Alter Ego after Skaura's trial. We also get to see what Kyoko found on the computer that she didn't want Makoto to know. It was a message from her dad.
-The ending is different as well. Junko ends up not getting executed. Makoto stops her just before she presses the button saying that she has to live with and own up to her crimes.

I liked Another Episode. Get fucked. Even if the story wasn't strictly as good, I liked the gameplay. And Monokuma's death cries are adorable.

Except for the part where the kids who got killed are kind of, sort of, not really implied to have not got killed.

If there was one thing to complain about, it would be the core gameplay. It was a watered-down third-person shooter on the vita, and thus controlled pretty poorly with the small analog stick, especially when you're being encouraged to hit the monokuma's eyes, which is made incredibly difficult with the controls and even lack of proper aim sensitiivty options.

Not him, but I never had issues with the aiming. You have 5 different aiming speeds and they worked perfectly fine if you actually bothered to get good at the game.

The game plays identical to Resident Evil 4 and no one complained about the aiming in that game even though each gun was locked with a specific speed.

Except RE4 came out in 2004. I'd hope that a game that's out in 2014/2015 has better controls than it. There's a reason many people think that the Wii version of RE4 is the best controlling one because of the free aiming.

The controls for RE4 on a normal controller were fantastic. The age of the game wouldn't have an impact on how well it controls anyways.

There are games that came out decades ago that control better than a vast majority of games released today. It'd be like saying you expect games that come out in 2014/2015 to be more fun than those that came out a decade ago.
