Control players usually play minions that have more Health than Attack early game (Northshire, for example) so it can trade favourable with Tournament Attendee, wherast Goldshire Footman takes at least another turn, maybe.

I know exactly how you feel. I decided to make a Secret Pally deck because everyone always says not to bash a deck before you try it yourself. Tried it, won like 7 or 8 in a row. It's so cheap that it doesn't require any sort of knowledge to play correctly. Literally just throw the Divine shield minions and Dr 6 on the board and win.

So i havent played this game in awhile until i heard they nerfed patron then i looked at patch notes and decided im still not going to play for awhile.

Like they never tried rogue tbh, with rogue is alaways easy to try to hit at least 10 wins and the draft gives you more option on what kind of deck you want instead of just picking the most valuable drop and looking at your curve, also the gameplay gives you a lot of more options wich means that if played optimally it's the best arena class imho.

Depends on the context of the secret played (I'm assuming you mean which way around when playing into mage secrets?)
Usually mages play Mirror entity on turn 3 if they have nothing to play, and play counterspell to protect their board at the time they need it.

So if they've played a secret early and I haven't procced it (or tried) until turn 5 when they've played some board, then I play Doomsayer first.
If they already had a board and played the secret the turn before, then I'd do it the other way around. That's assuming I'm dead next turn and can't test the secret now and play the clear next turn. As that's what I'd do.

given enough games, it's certainly a possibility. what you need to do is figure out why you lost each of those games. did you lose purely because of RNG outcomes? did you make all of the perfect plays and play around what you were supposed to, take the right risks when you were supposed to? or did you not play perfectly, did you make play mistakes at any point in the games, did you miss a point or 2 of damage here or there, or not make a trade when you were supposed to and got punished by AoE?

How can I improve my deck to climb the ladder? My aim is to get to rank 5 at least. I'm probably looking to replace imp master, I only put it in there because my turn 3 is usually weak. But I don't really know. Suggestions? I'm still fairly new to the game.

i'd say it's mostly just a matter of how much you actually want it. you may have to give up a couple of weekends doing literally nothing but playing hearthstone, a lot of "normies" aren't willing to do that, but the 24hr challenge definitely proves that it's possible if you spent 12 hours over 2 days. Hell, if you spent 8 hours on it friday night you could just pull the equivalent of 3 full time work days fri-sun and pull it off.

I mean, a 5/5 for 6 is playable in that it won't lose you the game in most matchups you would play the card in.

Take Harrison Jones, for instance. It's effective against only death's bite, gorehowl (low play %), eaglehorn bow and truesilver with some other really really low play %s for value. But it's still playable in a deck as a 5/4 for 5 because that's not so *terrible* that it will lose the game.

In this instance in comparison, destroying armour against a justicar warrior is fucking ridiculous value. Could be up to 50 face damage in one card. Giving it any addition value as being anything other than a tech against warrior armour is too much. Any draw at all would make the card instant include in any deck. Azure drake is already pretty fucking good as a shitty 4/4 for 5, and 5/5 for 6 is much better.

I guess you're right there. But warrior is so prolific right now that it would be a very good tech anyway.

If there's going to be a anti-armour card that is so heavy-handed then it definitely shouldn't be a great card in other matchups.

The real problem with armour is just that warrior has got so many fucking armour cards now and tank up for 4 is way too high though. Toning down armour should be done by nerfing the armour numbers; justicar to 3, shieldmaiden to 4 or some shit like that, rather than a card that will just swing the game to a 'draw this card or you can't do shit' fuckfest.

You're generally not worried about fel reaver discarding your cards. If you have one in your deck, it shouldn't be a deck that should last until fatigue.

That's actually a pretty interesting deck.

You're not super likely to get a 'best' opener but you have some good plays across the board if you get the right draws. Not impossible to get 12 for sure. I think it's down to the draw luck more than most other decks would be though. Might be harder to make the right play too. Keep your deck list open so you can see what you need and could draw.

I'd say if you're average you're gonna get 10 even with good luck. If you're good you're gonna get 10 with bad luck. 12 if you're both good and lucky.

So I recently dusted a bunch of shit to craft my Justicar Trueheart, and then I only needed Baron Geddon left to complete it. I just got a couple packs and the first one had a Baron Geddon.

I think my deck is pretty much done, but I have to decide on tech decisions.

Should I be running any Shield Blocks? I cut Slams in exchange for Bash, but my deck is pretty low draw power all things considered.

Any ideas, fellow Wallet Warriors?

I have played Hearthstone for like a yearish, I'd think I probably spend maybe $150 total on the game

I paid for Naxx so that's in there, my friend bought me all of BRM as a gift

The rest is packs and the occasional Arena run

Also I do the Google Rewards surveys thing so I've probably spent like $40 of Google Play credit I had saved up from that on packs. Every time I get $10 saved up on it I'd buy a pack bundle, it's pretty convenient

Since Hearthstone and Magic are entirely different games (Because they each have different systems, like the crystal/land system for example), it would be unwise to directly compare a Deck Archetype to another between the two games.

A Control deck in MTG is much, much different than a Control deck in Hearthstone, simply because both games work differently, yet their purpose is the same. Same with Zoo

Hearthstone bots do exist and are being used without any repercussions from Blizzard

There are multiple bots with varying levels of play and features

Most bots are capable of completing quests, farming daily gold limit and climbing to rank 5

There is a popular bot that has been successful in pushing 100's of players to legend over the last 2 seasons using Secret Paladin decks

So how prevalent are these bots?

Well - at least 1 bot maker is nice enough to provide us the last 2 weeks of stats to analyze. We can see:

around 100 bots on average which is very low considering the maker claims around 200 legends in the last month or so. But most players only bot a few hours a day to cherry-pick the right meta and activity picks up at month end as it gets easier to climb

75% of bots are Paladins and you can rest assured that they almost all Secret Paladins

So how good is Secret Paladin botting then?

Again we are lucky enough to have some stats on that.

You only need around 45% win rate (on average) to climb to rank 5 given the bonus stars of an occasional win streak

Secret Paladins easily exceed that, starting at around 58% win rate in the lower ranks and dropping to 52% by rank 5 ... So, they can easily do all the grinding to rank 5

Current win rates drop off to about 48% when the bot gets to ranks 1-3

It should be obvious that with a some luck these bots are definitely getting to legend rank.

And bear in mind that this after the meta has shifted to counter the Pally as well. Win rates last season were substantially higher.

No, because paladin is already broken. This is not a balanced game and trying to act like shaman and rogue shouldn't get unbalanced cards while paladin has shit like Dr. 6 and all the competitive classes have some flat out nuts broken shit. It's unlikely shit like muster and dr. 6 and the like will ever be nerfed, so the weaker classes need equally as busted cards. You can't demand shaman and rogue be balanced but paladin and warrior get to have busted shit.

It allows for 3 turns of faces + a flurry, and you can do cheesy shit like dump 2 oils or 2 poisons onto it because of the duration. Obviously doesn't happen often.

I'm mostly focusing on getting my mage decks ready, control, tempo, freeze, anything mage.

Legendary wise I've got Dr Boom, Antonio, Ragnaros, and Sylvanas. Also Al'Akir but that's Shammy (and I'm debating whether to disenchant that or not). I'm lacking one Unstable Portal, both Flamecannons, both Snowchuggers, both Effigies, one Ice block, one Spellbender, both Kirin Tor Mages, both Spellslingers, both Goblin Blastmages, both Flame Lances, Flame Leviathan, Rhonin, and both Pyroblasts

So, that's quite a lot. And not even counting some minions like Antique Healbot, Bloodmage Thalmos, Doomsayer, Explosive Sheep, one Mana Addict, Mechwarper...

So which would be the wisest group to go with?
