-Every top laner and most junglers can build nearly full tank and outdamage carries. Pick either BORK, Triforce, or BC and their kits supply the rest since every "bruiser" now has %MHP damage on their kit, as well as their damage scaling off their tankiness. Darius, Maokai, Gnar, etc.
-Junglers are similar to toplaners and they get the strongest items in the game at the lowest cost to make up for "muh no gold". They've given massive mobility to help them jump around at every stage in the game. Lee Sin, Rek "Lee Sin2.0" Sai, Gragas, Jarvan.
-Mid laners are no longer realistically held back by mana costs and cooldowns. During teamfights they just spam shit nonstop or melt the entire team in one burst anyways. Azir, Zed, LB, etc.
-Mid and top laners take teleport now meaning they're better tower pushes than carries, since they're better at splitpushing. Bot lane has also become an extra lane for anyone with teleport to farm gold from.
-Supports with more utility and in many cases raw damage over carries in the midgame. Sure, carries are supposed to be weak early, but supports like Thresh, TK, Janna, Sona, etc all bully the SHIT out of carries until 15-20+ minutes in to the game.
Carries are quite literally the worst role in the game right now. The fact that there are only 3 viable carries (jinx, kalista, trist) speaks volumes. It's not even as bad as the s1-s2 holy trinity of graves/ez/corki. Then at least, other carries would still be situationally useful. Now? Jinx is good because she's just every other carry rolled into one, Kalista is good because she's infinite kite, and Trist because she's the only carry that truly excels at tower destruction over what mid/top laners can do.
