I do the same thing fairly often with that "Honorable Darkwraith" build that was floating around for a while. It's actually pretty fun to give newer players a bit of fun for their first invasion.
i've also had older players on new builds compliment on the silly yet dangerous way i fight. Sure, I'm basically nothing but a big damage sink that moves around like an idiot and does slow, predictable, and heavily telegraphed attacks, but if I land a solid hit, I can blow off half their HP.

The Meta sticks to 120, but the extra 5 levels won't really hurt your chances of invading or co-oping. You're still well within the summon/invade range.

Yes. Not it consumes 12 bullets instead of 10 (which means 2 shots instead of 4 even with blood bullets) and they toned down the damage a little making it pretty useless even in pve. Especially when there's repeating pistol around that has 450 AR on 50BLT if you really want a ranged build.

I still use it, especially in BL50-70 pvp though. There it still can 1HKO pretty much anything.

It's viable for everything except for Fume Knight. You can still beat him though, but you would need a LOT of grass.

Dark flame is a waste for the health loss, It's only better until you can get the real flame up to +3/4 since it scales awfully with upgrades and stats, and the option to maybe survive even one extra hit will always be better than 5-10 more AR.

It's terrible. Not to mention its just stupid to use the OGS with those stats, its a fucking waste. Why just not go elemental Kumo?
And with so low defences, 1500 will feel like 1000. Everyone and their mother has at the very least 1.8k hp, while 2k is the most common with MoM.

At least 40 or so levels could be extracted from Vit, End, Str and Dex to build a casting support. The sword lends itself to INT spells considering it has an AoE guard break. Much more versatility.

Only commit points to STR/DEX if the weapon your build focuses on scales with it.

When you design a build you want to roughly view level partition in this order

>Weapon requirement
>Endurance/stamina (to fully use it's moveset)
>Int/Faith and Attunement
>Weapon scale
>Vit

Last two are personal preference

Ive got 99 intel in DS2.

Ive just picked this game up like a month ago, and just spammed intil because lol.

I got the staff of wisdom, Whats a good weapon for a pure high intel build.

I honestly dont know the way infusing works or how they affect weapons with scaling allready in intel. I just dont know if infusing anything might work or if there are allready high intel weapons that would be really strong with 99 intel.

keep the staff of wisdom. get it to +5 and magic infuse it. you need a faintstone for that. it get ridiculus magic adjust. only drawback is the casting point is really high, easy to miss human and below sized enemies. offhand a smaller staff or a blue flame to remedy that

It's hardly twinking. You can easily get 6 normal titanite from Lenigrast and 6 large titanite from McDuff and you get chunks from bellbonging and slabs from bellbonging and in FoFG. It's pretty easy to get +10 weapon under 100k just on a normal PvE run if you just know what you are doing.

The problem is that DLC is expected now. If DaS1 + 2 did come with all of their DLC on release, people who still be expecting DLC. If anything, it's the consumers fault. Im thankful that From actually tried to make improvements with their DLC edition, instead of just releasing a normal game with dlc.

Depending on your preferences you might.
DeS is darker, heavier as far as the atmosphere goes.
Bosses are pretty good but FROM didn't polish enough and you can shamelessly cheese probably every single one for them, many without endangering yourself at all from behind the fog wall (like Manus).
Areas aren't as interconnected as DS1. You have a hub and 5 'worlds', each split into 3-4 sections ending with bosses.
Depending on your deaths in human form you can 'plunge the worlds into darkness', make enemies tougher, cause black phantoms to appear and make farming easier since you get better loot and more souls.
Awesome armors, plenty of weapons, no poise.
If you have the game there's no reason not to try it out.

Crystal gives weapons a boost in base AR, but at the cost of MUCH lower durability. And yes, they do break. You repair them, either.

Unfortunately, there are mules out there somewhere that have tons of Crystal weapons.

Claymore is pretty good. Best movesets out of all greatswords. Damage isn't that good though, it would be best to infuse it or use with robflynn or robsoflynn.

Nope, I made the build without PvP in mind and it's served me well so far, even in PvP I can hold my own. I only get my shit kicked in by SL/DM Blade + Katana users, and I'm able enough to parry when it's called for. I feel like midroll is definitely viable.

Somewhat, it's not like the Artorias Swords in Dark Souls 1 with the ridiculous stat requirements to the point where you're like SL100 minimum to not be a wet paper while wielding it. You don't even need DEX, if you level up DEX that's just for the extra damage.
Know that it does split physical and magic damage.

They damage is pitiful even with 50 in Strength and max infused, especially when you look at their absurd weight and how slow their attacks are.

But, if you really want to give it a shot, it's not a bad idea. The Strength scaling is only a D (it really should be an S) and the letter rating doesn't go down, while the infused element can get up to a B, which isn't that bad.
Infusing could be worth it if you have room to do 50 Strength, the Vitality to have the things equipped and not lunk around, and the softcapped spell stat.
But I still think it's not worth the effort outside of a gimmick build.

For some reason I never tried the Claymore in DaS, only in DaS2 and hated it.

Yesterday I tried it on the first game and, Jesus, this weapon feels so good. The moveset is so fucking perfected and well weighted, the damage is awesome, everything is good.

They destroyed the claymore in DaS2.

I'll tell you why both sticks aren't up there. Because the buttons are up there. think about a typical video game, you use the left stick to move (primary action) you use the buttons to do stuff (primary action) you use the right stick to look around (secondary action) and you use the d-pad in menus and shit (secondary action)

It makes sense to put the primary actions in a more comfortable spot than the secondary actions.

What's the best early game PvE weapon in DaS2?

Estoc, Longsword, and Mace are my current choices. I'm really not feeling the Mace though due to it's terrible range.

I need a weapon for my hex build in DS2 (all DLC, not SotFS) for PVE
Ideally one that requires as little requirements as possible.

I want to make a new DkS 1 build but I'm not sure what soul level I should go up to.
I've always played at 125 but if I go down to 120 then I can be summoned by level 98's and above which means I can duel with lower level 99 or 100 builds, and it also means I can only be invaded by 133's or below meaning no more sl 135 havel-flip-moms.
On the downside though I would have to sacrifice vit (down to 1424 HP instead of my usual 1500)

I don't like Scholar because of how many of the actually good enemy placements they changed from Vanilla just for the sake of looking like they're doing something worth buying the game over again, and how many of the changes they made only make sense when viewed them from idea "someone who played Vanilla won't expect this".

Dark Souls 2's weapon smithing system is arguably the best. You don't need a +10 weapon to make a boss weapon, you don't need a +5 weapon to infuse an element, you don't have to go to different blacksmiths for different ascensions, and you don't need materials for specific paths outside of a single stone.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my katana.

Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.

Katanas are thrice as sharp as European swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the Dark Souls system.

My point was not that the Mad Warrior's placement didn't make sense, it was that the Mad Warrior was yet another person/thing that Vendrick brought to Drangleic and that he and the OIK were working together to fight the curse.

The description of the ironclad armor says that they're marionettes from Alken or Venn. The description of the old ironclad armor says that such soldiers were used in Drangleic. Vendrick didn't make the ironclads, so the reasonable answer is that the person who did is the dude whose ability is to give life to iron.
