>Tier 4 to 5 and Lower = Raider
>Tier 5 to 6 and Higher = Destroyer Escort & Gunboat
>High Tier Outliers = Shimakaze notably

This actually fits history.

Also, DD's at higher tiers should get reinforced prows for better ramming damage - inherent +50% damage\-50% return damage (adding flag just turns it +75\-25)

Stupid I know, but why not?

Also, give them the Hydroacoustic Search ability that mid level CL's get.

and a health pot, because why not

If you sail at an angle on the blue line it makes it nearly impossible to hit you with torpedoes, as the lead indicator is always wrong.

Any part of your shit that is beyond the blue line cannot take damage, so you can effectually half the area your enemies have to shoot at.

While it's hard to tell, you're still going at full speed forward if you're traveling at an angle on the blue line, in addition to the previous two mentioned benefits.

It honestly feels mediocre. Like yes, the AP round is fantastic, but thats only applicable in cruiser v cruiser fights and in the rare chance battleshits that are driving perfectly broadside and even then its like 5-8k a full connection at best. The HE is absolutely fucking garbage, and this is veering on paranoia (so take with a grain of salt mind you) but you will be seeing a lot low to no damage connections with very few fires. You can boost that 11 percent chance up to 14, but at 4.6 rounds a minute its not really counting for much (it might count better on the roon and the hinden where you have 6 rounds a minute).

I felt more comfortable in the Yorck and that ship was passable at best.

I think it's safe to say that all or most of the prolific ships will be premiums, except where those ships bear the name of their class, as in the case of Bismarck being more prolific than Tirpitz, but also being the name of the class of ship. It would of confusions(((( the players for their to be a ship in the tree labeled "Bismarck" and then a premium right next to it that is Bismarck herself.

Hood was the only Admiral class battlecruiser actually built, and IIRC she was altered so much from the original design that she was basically her own class of bote. It seems fitting to make her a premium, but she could just as well fit into a tree position.

So what should I be doing as a battleship? Cause I just got the type C hull for the Miyogi and I feel like I don't contribute much to the fight when I fight other battleships

These last few games I decided to mainly shoot at cruisers instead thinking of like rock paper scissors but with 4 things and boats instead
So something like this
Aircraft carrier < Battleships < Cruisers < Destroyers

So basically I leave other battleships alone and instead destroy cruisers which will help protect OUR destroyers so that they can destroy enemy battleships, this already feels like I'm contributing more then before

BBs are usually good targets because they're bigger and less likely to be able to dodge, but if there's a cruiser not bothering to do anything to dodge fire than definitely try to citpen him to death
also it should get better once you get past the myogi, it's kind of shit. the kongo is the first real taste of how the IJN BBs feel

I'm pretty sure press accounts just have millions of free exp, money, and gold, as well as all the premiums. That way they can play anything they look at

At least that's how it works in other games.

Gnevy is a pretty good ship, i would argue she is a keeper. She has no downsides other than the slow turret rotation and the short range torps, and the turret rotation isnt that slow. Did the math.. hell no they do not!(Or at least not truly at low tier, and definitely not at higher.)

sure the number says 67 more damage than US... at Tier V, but US has a much nicer spread (6 vs 4) and longer range so odds are you'll hit more torps as USN than IJN, AND be able to launch from farther back so as to reduce damage taken by your planes. (And you get increased damage per torp as you go up the tiers.)

Throw in DB Damage (sure auto aim'd DB's aren't that accurate, but use that ALT +Click and that spread becomes nice and tight.) and you have more damage than similar tier'd IJN CV's

Also the torp damage doesn't increase with tier for IJN?!

WTF WG!

I just know looking over those numbers, IF you somehow landed every single torpedo and every single bomb in a wave(Impossible I believe.. or is there actually a ship wide enough to be hit by all four torps?). USN deals more damage.

And that math of damage is of course before counting the horrific torpedo spread IJN has received up until now due to "Mah Faction peculiarities."

Roon elited is the first KM cruiser after tier6 who can do serious damage to everyone.

Hipper seems to be tricky.
Like Yorck it perform better close range but going to play escort ship like USN or IJN CAs and it sink very fast.
Going to knife fight in island clusters like a big DD is rewarding but by no means is a better cruiser than Mogami or Atago or fun

But the 155s can still shit HE all over any cruiser you encounter, so you end up more flexible with those.

The only real drawback is the shitty turn rate on the 155s. As long as you can work with that, they're better.

Its not really that BB's outpaced you by being BB's its just that in order to do significant damage you have to rely more on your AP round than HE, but thats only solidly applicable at mid to close range with targets driving broadside to you. The lack of a competent HE round makes you fairly inflexible when it comes to engaging certain targets.

The Roon and Hindenburg also have better AA than their IJN counterparts.

It's the Hipper that needs a little love, German HE is usable. I'd really like to see them fix the #2 and #3 turret firing arcs. A rudder improvement would be nice, too, since it seems that Atago needed it. Hipper doesn't have to be an amazing ship, just decent.

My average damage in the Hipper has gone up a few thousand since getting the range and hull upgrades.

I learned to just switch up targets that are incoming, if DBs are coming first i focus them down until they drop their bombs, then i focus the next group and so on, and depending on how close TBs are ill focus them down. It's really turned down how much damage i take from carriers.

Between Hipper stock and elited there are no great improvements where it matter.
The extra HP is negated by one shell, AA is always meme, stock range is fine and the rudder shift+turning are always mediocre for a ship so poorly armored for range skirmish but decent at brawling.
What would help Hipper is either an HE buff or a better maneuverability

I think I have like a 30% winrate on the Cleveland, so I believe it's cursed. I always get the worst matchups on that ship. Allies always die in droves at the start, leaving me and a ragtag band to get slaughtered by the entire enemy team. I also somehow get citadeled easily and at weird angles, despite how fucking tiny their citadels are.

My blessed ship, by comparison, is the Omaha. I had about a 70% winrate in that, and always seemed to have amazing matches all-around.

Very. She's already pretty accurate, and the GFCS mod makes the dispersion noticeably tighter. The loss in secondary gun range isnt a big deal, they can't hit anything beyond 8km anyways, and also get destroyed often. Better to hit more accurately with your main battery.

Russian bias will inevitably turn up, game is made by Russian so RUSSIA STRONK is mandatory.
The game is pretty arcardey, you can't control secondaries and AA, the devs decided it was too complicated and might confuse new players.

It's an OK game, but if the chinamen with their totally-not-copy ever get going, they'll make a better game.

Anything below tier 8 is sustainable, credit wise. Loss/death or otherwise. Tier 8, you have to play well to earn money. Above that, you will almost certainly lose money on a loss/death, especially without premium.

As it stands right now, russian bias isnt here. In the whole russian line theres like 1 ship thats really strong, but thats at tier 7 and past that theres nothing else thats extremely good in the line,but there are a couple good ones. They said they are going to buff some of them though, so we'll see.

Well, the TKer wasn't really the focus, but he actually teamkilled the Zao on the other team in a previous game. Said it was because the Zao "hid in a corner".

No, this is a rarity for sure. The most tier 10s I've seen in a game before this was maybe 6-8, split evenly between both teams. Most of the tier 10 games I even get into are 7v7 because so few people have them or so few choose to play them regularly.

You're not the average CV player, and I'd like to think I'm not the average Aoba player. You are right in that in most games I only use it 2-4 times, but I don't like the idea that I have to ration out Defensive Fire so that I'm not fucked over in those occasional late games to 4 occasions while a CV can keep on bombing my team with impunity as long as she has at least one bomber.

That's what this patch is changing. Every boat will receive the same amount of flooding damage, which is 40%.

Let's just take a Houshou, two TB squadrons. Worst case scenario for him is he only hits with 1 from one side and 4 from the other.

If there's a 20% chance to cause flooding from each of those 5 torpedoes, there's extremely high chance that flooding will occur.

I have camo on all my botes.
On BB/CVs that is an extra km or two of non detection range.
On a cruise this is also is another km or two of non detection. Coupled with the tier 5 skill and the camo, you can often invisi -fire with ships in a small buffer area.
Its terrifying against a Zao that's doing it.
Big BBs that have camo on can inch closer without worrying about being fired upon.

this effectively proves that AA is completely RNG based around some bullshit tick method

Also upgrades like damage control are multiplicative based on the chance of fire

so if you have a 20% chance to start a fire and damage control reduces it by 3%, then you suddenly have a chance of 19.4% to start a fire

What you fail to leave out is that every AA bubble increases the chance of wiping out an enemy plane every server tick. Just like dogfights with planes. Its complete RNG, but far from unfair when you stack AA bubbles and have like an 80 percent chance to knock out 2 planes every second without even focusing.

all AA is purely RNG based, any multiplier is multiplicative just like the Damage Control upgrades

the individual upgrades stack but multiple ships shooting at the same squadron do not and the highest DPS AA guns will only do damage

Yes. The Fubuki is very good. I recently grinded through it and here are some of my games, starting from the earliest (bottom right) to some of the final (top).

The best advice I can give for the Fubuki is understanding offensive smoking. Too many IJN DD players only play their DDs as torpedo platforms, which is what I did at the start. After about 100 games, however, I can say that's a massive mistake. You do much better using your guns just as much as your torpedoes.

That's where extensive testing needs to be done. How often do you shoot down planes before they drop their torpedoes as opposed to after they drop their torpedoes?

The latter is almost as bad as having no AA because almost all the torpedoes are still in the water.

It's more of per plane.

3 ships, A, B and C trying to kill the first plane.
C killed the first plane, then all 3 move on to the next.
If all of them didn't roll for 5s, they will not shoot down any plane.
