At PGW? Little of significance. However this year Sony is doing this instead of the usual Gamescom stream, and they've said it's roughly the same scale as Gamescom is.

Last year at Gamescom:

- Alienation was announced
- Hellblade was announced
- P.T. was announced
- Tearaway Unfolded was announced
- The Tomorrow Children was announced
- Until Dawn was re-revealed
- Wild was announced

So it was light on the Vita last year. I can't imagine that'll change much this year either.

The closest we've gotten is Atelier Astrid mode in Rorona 3DS

The Dusk series at least has the characters grown up to the point they're being employed and not working under a master. It's a thin line though. After age 25 they're supposed to be lamenting not having a boyfriend per anime rules.

Shipped =/= sold.

The numbers have been declining year over year and now they don't even want to report it. They've been hiding it behind a "PSP/PSTV/Vita" sales banner and even then the line item only had 3.3 million sold last year, compared to 4.1 last year and 7.0 Million in 2012

You do realize sony sees no money from vitas sold from retailers to customers right? Business make their money from business-to-business. After sony has sold vitas to retailers it's the retailers job to sell it to customers further on. Of course they need to care about customer sales since it affects their orders from retailers

If they aren't selling and the retailers had to sell their stock at a loss or return them to Sony they won't be shipping any more units to those retailers. Their newest Blue model is a Gamestop exclusive. That's never a good sign.

The multiplatform thing is Gust covering all their bases. Nights of Azure seemed to sell at parity on PS4/Vita and PS3 sold 10k the first week, with the Vita version picking up an extra 10k the following week.

Vita(and 3DS) Atelier games sell sub 20k at launch so now instead of investing all their time in an enhanced Vita port, they write one engine across the three consoles for a quick extra buck.

That would do even worse then the Vita plus games when you consider the sales drop from the vanilla version in an already covered platform. Vita +'s in comparison sold as much as it did because the vanilla's were not in Vita.

I've been playing games on my PS3 lately, mainly weeb stuff but also CoD Black Ops multiplayer and I haven't turned my Vita on since 3.55 came out.

Of the top 25 vita games according to VGChartz Only 7 of them haven't been brought to PS4 and a majority of them are games that have another increment coming soon instead or the studio shut down. Freedom Wars is the last of the Sony first party ones.

Yeah, I have a PS3, WiiU, and 3DS. Occasionally PS2, Dreamcast, N64, and GBA.

I really liked Alien Isolation and Tearaway. Can't name a whole lot of other recent western games I was crazy about, though TxK isn't too bad. I'll play one on occasion but I much prefer Japanese games on the whole.

Things that come out in Europe come to the NA region almost guaranteed. It's not like Japan where they get 20 VNs and Gundam games announced.

PC, PS4, Vita, 3DS and Wii U. PS3 still sees some uses as well.

Most recently got Tales of Zestiria and Disgaea 5 on PS4. Next purchases are Fallout 4 and Just Cause 3 on PC, then Gravity Rush Remastered, Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival on PS4 and Star Fox 0 on Wii U. Strongly considering Makai Shin Trillion on Vita too. Also hoping Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is out around early next year too, in which case undecided on platform but leaning PS4 for it.

I like to think my taste is varied, there's plenty of western games and Japanese games I'm quite interested in. Wipeout 2048 was the main reason I got a Vita early.

Yeah it would be best if they started to come with world-wide contracts. From what I understand, Japan in general has gone from Japan only, to extending to Asia. Sure we get world-wide stuff from time to time, but it can't be helped.

I guess it can't be helped since they love to glorify their VA work and idols and stuff. It can't come cheap like it does over here. Ironically, in Blood Drive one of the VAs talk about how strenuous the takes are due to the screams and such in their testimonies.

Squeenix and Bamco were notoriously stubborn with including dual audio.

They work closely with XSeed and i'm pretty sure Falcom are aware that they have fans of their games in the west.
So yeah, it would make sense they would look for a VA studio that has no problems with world wide use of the voices in the future.

I for one would like it if they did that because as much as i like XSeed their English voices are kinda crap.

But the thing is that Falcom deepened their relationship with Chara-Ani and they can't just go and look for a new studio that is willing to sell world wide.

We just have to hope for Chara-Ani to change their mind, or to wait till the contract between them is terminated. After that, Falcom could find a new VA studio, or add a new condition for western releases.

Strictly speaking, DLC is not region locked in the traditional way. Japanese DLC will work on a US console. The issue is that the requirement is that the DLC region and the game region are the same.

For example, I imported Guilty Gear Xrd Sign from America and play it on my EU PS4. The Elphelt DLC I have is from the US store, and works just fine with US copy of the game on my EU PS4.

Like the Asian Totori Plus retail release is actually the Japanese version and the Digital version the EU version while the Meruru digital release is the NA version meaning your screwed out of the bonus costumes you get for having a Totori safe because the regions dont match up.

You could probably look at Neptunia RB3 for a good example. IFI didn't want to pay the extra money for an 8GB cartridge and put the Japanese voices as DLC for everything else to fit. Also there was some sort of Neptune life sim that was special preorder material in Japan, since we don't have any usable access into Vita game files yet we can't say for sure whether that data was removed or not.

If someone were then able to get ahold of the download code all sorts of shit could get messed up. From the game not having the Japanese font available and crashing to a full corruption of the game data.

Its really clear that SCE Asia is a disorganized, understaffed shit hole that has trouble co-ordinating all the local PSN storefronts under their control and keeping track of problems on them. Even their PS3 side has had major issues.

Still love them for actually communicating with English speakers and arranging so many physical releases though.

From what i remember people did somehow manage to get the Japanese DLC for Phantasy Star Portable 2 to work on NA and EU copies of the game. Although it was far from flawless it did work.

Well when you insert the physical cart it should ask you if you want to make the physical version replace the digital version of the game and if you accept it'll transfer the save over if it's compatible with your region's save file. If it doesn't show up as if you got more space freed up, you should rebuild your database.

Help me vitagen, after playing JRPG for so long, it's starting to tire me. I just can't find joy on the anime cliche dialogue, the boring turn base battles, the over to the top attack animations and special attacks. It's starting to look pathetic and lame. The characters are also starting to look stupid and ridiculous with those big anime eyes and anime hair. And those cringey high pitched japanese voices.

This general helped me make a big decision with my vita, and all I have to say is...

Thank you. I was going to sell it today at gamestop. I dig it out and put it on its charger to make sure it still works, and felt sad that I was getting rid of the thing. It is beautifully made and felt great in my hands, but I never got into it. I was downloading a software update, and decided to do a little research, and see what games are being talked about (it had been about 7 months since I last touched it.) I found this little general and looked around, and discovered something...

There's a great community centered around this thing! I looked around and saw a lot of games that I want to try now, and saw Alot of cool stories too. I was reminded of the amazing remote play feature (which I adore) and made the decision to not sell my vita, but rather go get some games for it instead :)

I'm not sure if I am allowed to put it but I would love some people to play psvita/ps4 with, so if anyone is interested, DM me and I can give you my PSN ID.

You get quite a few missed side events, the small srpg part and a section that elaborates on various topics. The CG in particular is great.

Is there anyway to copy a save file and not the whole game when you don't have playstation plus? I got an error when I opened SV one day and read somewhere that you can fix this by copying the save file, redownloading the game, and putting the save file back. I tried to do this but ended up copying the whole game which didn't fix anything.

Hi vitagen,

I trust you guys won't spoil the game for me so I'm gonna ask here. In Danganronpa, I chose to "Pursue Kyouko's lie" but it dumped me back to the same choices after seeing the "bad end", but at this point I chose to "Let it go".

Just finished Tokyo Xanadu normal ending last night. I kinda wish that they would play wish wing for the staff roll.

It's only manageable because I used the money trick and save up to 5 million, buy and craft best equipment, accessories, and orbs. I even put that Blue Dragon orbs for everyone.

It's hard to imagine playing on nightmare or infinite without using the money trick, unless I'm throwing away getting S rank for all dungeons.

How long is the epilogue? I see that it has 3 more dungeons.

They've tried before, and it's hardly a guaranteed 100000 sales outside of japan. It wouldn't sell half that much here, especially with the move to ps4.

SiSC has been out on vita for ages now, and the XBONE port is based off it. The devs also hinted that they were considering other platforms for localisation soon after the XBONE announcement on stream.

The true worth of falcom games is the interaction, even with the mob characters, which actually alive and got story and background for every characters.

Large bodies of water can be basically any colour depending on the time of the day, atmospheric conditions, angle from which you're viewing it etc. That doesn't make every single colour on the planet blue.

I'd say it is probably around the length of the free time parts. (maybe a little longer since there are 3 dungeons to do). You get quests to do too, so the only difference is there are no kizuna events.

Make sure not to miss the secret blade boss, I didn't bother checking the blade machine in the epilogue of my first playthrough.

Not sure how hard you'd find it, but if you are trying to learn then it might not be too bad considering the amount of dialog in it to practice with.

That said you'd be better off going for fully voiced VNs if you still aren't that confident in your moon.

the reason why nobody (except for women) uses those meme color names is because there's no agreement as to what they actually mean. Googled aquamarine and turquoise and got hundreds of different colors.
Even the artist is pretty inconsistent with worse Shallie's hair color, but it always seems to be mostly green. Her in-game hair is undeniably green too.
