I feel like the best players play in the morning (US East), around that time matches are hard and I'm usually going 1 win 1 loss repeat, come afternoon things are easier going 3 wins per loss usually, and then at night man it's like 6+ streaks constantly.

Fractal and Synja are good though. You can Flash Reincarnate an Emerald Rejuvenator too, there are no redeeming qualities about Earth Sphere. The card is beyond garbage as far as value goes, even more so when compared to Sundrop

took me 171 ranked wins. Around 100 of them are magmar.

this deck is mostly garbage since I didn't want to craft any cards and just wanted to use what I had. I ended up caving and crafting the emerald rejuvs though, but they paid off big time so I'm not too upset about it.

The earth walkers and sun seers are just because I wanted some 3 drops that could trade/heal with common abyss/songhai cards but I'm not really sold that they have a place in the deck (all 3 drops kind of suck except for chaos elemental which is absolutely amazing). The mindwarpers are great though. Even if you get a useless card, you can always cycle it, so it's kind of like a 4/3 with a 'draw a card' effect.

You really should've been able to figure out that that is a terrible idea, especially if you've got more than 1 Synja. Just having 3 7 drops is probably far too much, although it's less of a problem for Magmar due to Flash Reincarnation.

jax is a dead card most of the game. You have to already be in control to play it since it takes up like your entire turn and the mini jaxes aren't that hard to deal with if your opponent is winning. Songhai's run ghost lightning, magmars and lyonar have mass removal, and abyssian can usually just kill you before you get the chance to use it.

I cant say i know much about songhai but from what ive played the OTK and the burn decks are seperate. If you try to be too burn then you wont survive to get the OTK. If you try to be too OTK youll die before you burn

Though if youre following a guide/decklist its probably better than my advice

Spiral isn't bad even for the lantern fox otk deck
It's basically your secondary win condition. If you don't draw well (even with triple aether master) you can always aim for whittling them down through phoenix fire and tusk boars before finishing with spiral or a less-than-usually-buffed fox/minion

I've played around with the ratios and 2 plasma storm is probably the best. I was running 3 at the time though just to see how consistent it was.

One of the nice things about having 3 though is that you can be a bit more liberal with how you use them. I used one turn 3 to clear out 2 songhai ranged units, then he summoned 3 more the next turn because he assumed I didn't have a second one. After I plasma stormed the second time he conceded. It just costs so much mana though.

2 plasma storm and 1 spirit harvester is pretty good for dealing with the weenie bullshit though. Spirit harvester is so good.

remember that if you transform your own unit and it's not exhausted, it can still act. So you can transform something into the drake and move/attack with it on the same turn, which means it's effectively 4 mana 4/4 with rush and flying (along with giving surrounding units flying).

The 2 mana turn something into a 5/5 is supposed to be good too, but I don't have any copies of it so I haven't been able to try it. Turn 2 you can turn a 1/2 ranged unit into a 5/5 ranged unit that can't be dispelled though. That sounds pretty good on paper.

I use the Vale Hunter + Mark of Solitude combo constantly in my deck (start first, cast Mark on 2nd turn). Once you have it out, enemy can't summon anything of value during early-mid game until they dispel/remove it.

However, the "can't attack general" effect *IS* dispellable, so dispelling a MoS creature might do more harm than good.

In general though the p2w aspect is mitigated somewhat since there isn't quite a retard-proof way to win. I beat vets with lots of legendaries fairly frequently when they don't know how to play well or get too greedy. P2W magmar still shits on me all the time with their 3 warbeasts into other garage but most other matchups can be beaten with fairly cheap cards, as long as you know how to play them.

I signed up for the tournament while heading out the door as wasn't gonna be home for another 3 hours or so. I thought the tournament would be a bigger thing at a later date so yeah. If you have a hunch the Abyssian runs Shadow Nova (like, has cheap shadow creep minions at start of game), then right before 7+ mana rounds, rush your minions towards Abyssian's face, and steer general away from the minions. Divide the attention so the shadow nova can only hit either you, or your minion force. The turn abyssian casts Shadow Nova, they don't do much else.

If you're afraid of 2nd Shadow Nova, then summon your new minions, and back away with general again.

You can dispel the shadowcreep, so if they really fucking worry you, put 2-3 Lightbenders in your deck.

That's like 10 cards already to get an answer, and he is easily in melee range to kill a ranged character or even throw 4 health away to hit your grow monster.

As for the actual lore, nothing for right now. The next update is supposedly a big lore update so you've got that to look forward to.

Dunno how true it is but I heard all the factions are fighting for mana to keep their continents afloat. I assume literally afloat based on some of the art I've seen. Sounds pretty cool so I hope it's true.

Honestly when I looked at the forums the other day like every deck list is outdated as is. I know stuff prolly hasn't changed much since like 0.42 or whatever but some of those lists were like 0.38 and shit. Plus a lot of card value depends on placement. Nobody uses Brightmoss's but for rank 30-15 that shit can win you games singlehandedly as Lyonar, and is still pretty OP for other factions.

Is she really that good? Her mana is way too high for only having 3 attack imo. It leaves her open to literally every form of magmar removal and if she gets dispelled then she's hardly worth anything unless you're lyonar and make her a shitty replacement Ironcliffe Guardian.

I just got these two babies in my first turn for two games in a row. It's just insane, I move up and down wiping whatever my oponent summons or if he plays a really weak card I just hit his general's face from afar.

Sorry to burst /your/ bubble but those same two artifacts used to be 5 attack blast for the same mana. The difference now is that you can't turn 1 Wildfire which used to be amazing. Instead you turn 1 Staff which is fucking worthless. It's completely killed off artifact Vet so don't pretend one good game in dumpster ranks means that Staff is okay. Staff of Y'kir is totally shit now.

I guess I'd rather have it this way than have +6 Adam Claws.

I'm currently Rank 12, using this.

I really think Golem Vanquisher is better than Rock Pulverizer.

Problem with the deck is if I don't draw Locke or Glacial, then all I have is a bunch of walls and chump-blockers that don't do anything.

Voice of the Wind isn't bad and it's neat when it goes off, but I'm thinking of dropping them for another Golem and IDK what else.

Maybe I'll put in the shitty Vespyr Bear. IDK.

On another note, I was owning an Abyssian shitter, had two Pyromancers, a Portal Guardian with low health and a Repulsor Beast, she only had a Shadow Watcher on the other side of the board and suddenly she pulls pic related.
I mean, It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have all these other op bullshit cards that sinergize with each other. It's four mana but it can take out all those low drop minions that come with 2hp in one sweep and heal all your own stuff to full health. Isn't it a little too much?

Hardcore aggro with Songhai or Abyssian is basically of whether or not I draw into my Rejuvinators and whether or not they have good answers to my Aymaras. Abyssian seems to do this better since they have more silences (as well as the Lures) to deal with the Aymaras.

Outside of that I do pretty well, I think. Control Magmar feels very slightly in my favor. Creep doesn't bother me. Heal Lyonar gets obnoxious but I beat them most of the time.

Metamorphasis can still eat a dick, though.

You know what the problem with your simile is?

You're comparing a game where you can only buy random booster packs to physical card games where you can literally BUY that one card you need to make your deck work for $X.

The problem with saying an online card game where you cannot buy individual cards is pay 2 win is based solely on the distinction that you have to turn 1,000 other cards into dust at a measly 20 dust a pop or more to make 3 cards that cost 900 each.

There shouldn't BE a rule in "this kind of game" because not only are there only like what, 200 cards in the game total, you can't buy anything specific.

I can sell you 3 copies of Snapcaster mage and buy whatever the fuck I want in MTG but I can't disenchant 3 Pandora's and get 3 Lady Lockes. No, I have to disenchant 9 Pandora's to get 3 Lady Lockes, or like 450 common cards to make ONE Lady Locke.

This is bad for the genre. This is what balance patches are for. This is why this game is still pretty shitty, albeit fun.

It's not actually so bad in Duelyst right know, I mean, you can build some decent decks with just common cads and you might get really lucky with the orbs you get from just playing. I just happen to have an awful luck at these things, I'm craving for a Sarlac.

Only issue is only 2 windblade. It's the best early game.

It's not as if your provoke is expensive. Try to bait shit out with smaller drops first. Also, you're not an aggro deck. You can outlive your enemy, and you want to nuke them with healbombs. Play more defensively, basically. Hit them with your face instead of your minons.

Yes you can, it's in "collection". it's like hearthstone except they use different name for it.

Stick to one class and play it to rank 11. You will get a lot of orbs(booster packs) for newcomer. The most hated faction atm is abyssian because how hard to counter her. Pick it and learn it. You will lose a lot of games at first because the low pool of players so they match you with better players most of the time.

Btw if you have never play grid based tactical games before, i suggest read the link on op on "getting_started"

From what I've heard, bunker Vet just doesn't work at the top end because the deck plays too many cards that simply aren't good values on their own, like the Windstorm Obelysk you mentioned, and Dunecaster.

The "good" Vetruvian deck though costs boat loads of spirit using Sarlac powered Portal Guardians and Scion's Third Wish as well as their legendary healer.

So I play Backstab Songhai, or at least I'm trying to. After the last two days of nothing but losing streaks, however, I feel like I'm just not playing it right. Nothing I put down ever stays, as every person I play against not only has an answer to my minion or two, but builds upon it. I seem to have no grasp of how to keep tempo (if that's even something this deck can do). Is my deck supposed to not care about keeping tempo at all and just wait for big plays? In which case, after doing one big play, how do I stop them from using a simple removal on my one big guy and being fucked anyway?

I'm at Rank 14, and it was a smooth ride getting here, I just have no idea how to push ahead.

it has the same extremely back and forth nature, in that you're always planning for the next turn and not several turns ahead (barring very obvious stuff like keeping your strong removals for true threats).

It is slightly more interesting in that there is more to it than creatures bodies and placement is a big factor.

It has currently however too many cheap instant aoe effects for my tastes. It's not necessarily imbalanced but it's a bit boring to have the board wiped every turn or so.

It does heavily favor whoever can keep a creature on the field after these big trades/wipes tho, I'll tell you that much. Which is the main reason why Sarlac is fucking stupid as a card.

Currently in silver, and i was just wondering why Abyssians get a bunch of hate? I know that they arent nearly as bad in the early divs because they dont have stacked legos yet, but I cant find a reason to hate them beyond the hate that exists for blue black control etc. in mtg, generally just people being salty because the play style feels disrespectful as fuck

abyssians have one of the most powerful burn engines in the game that is simultaneously the best (and only technically infinite) heal engine in the game. The also have one of the cheapest buff spells, the second cheapest removal (magmar still reigns supreme here), the cheapest burn spells, and two of the most bullshit rush units in the game.

On the flip side their creatures are fairly weak, but they usually don't care about creature quality since they just hit you in the face repeatedly then win on turn 5 or 6. The only way to counter play is to draw nothing but heals while simultaneously killing their units before they can get their heal/burn engine up, which is possible but you have to build your deck around it. Without the right tools you will just flat out lose no matter what.

Abyssians just have a ton of stuff that are unstoppable or require certain cards to be stoppable. If they set up a deathwatch minion and you don't have silence in hand, you're fucked. If they set up 6+ wraithlings and you don't have aoe in hand you're fucked. If they have the shadow creep spell and you let them survive until turn 7, you're fucked.

It's just, anytime I lose against Abyss it feels like I couldn't have done anything to prevent the loss. I didn't get outplayed, I just failed to draw the silences in my deck at the right time.

It's a lot less luck-based than say hearthstone, since you have 3 draws a round, there's vastly less rng, and it's on a board which requires you to actually think about your positioning and not just slam your shit down

Rasha is pretty good. Admittedly, there aren't a lot of artifacts that varrant that kind of removal, but the Dervish is pretty neat. Use Rasha's Curse, then have the dervish act as a beacon and summon all your dudes near your opponent, while you are safe as fuck on the other side of the board for instance.

I've been just sitting at rank 5 and losing 75% of my games while I try out different decks. I know at least one guy went from gold to diamond based off my losses. It's not quite win trading but when there's no incentive to tryhard constantly then who cares about rank at all?
