Do they actively target people or are tornadoes random?
Because part of the reason I stopped bothering with Esoterics was because of those damn tornadoes juggling me. And I'm a healer; I can't imagine how annoying they must be for a melee DPS.

The problem with that boss is those tornadoes are inconsistent with the other tornadoes introduced in the very same patch.

The earlier neverreap torandoes and bismarck tornaodes have clear cutoff points for ranged to turret with.

I think it was a pre-made because I felt that WHM should have gotten them instead. I even did pulls I wasn't normally comfortable trying with randoms, and they kept me alive through it all. I should replace Flash with Awareness already so I can comfortable use Raw Intuition for massive pulls.

Having gotten all three tanks to 60 and quickly seen that appropriate use of Overpower beats the shit out of Flash(and Unleash, at that), I don't understand why I see babby WARs using Flash ever. Especially if someone is playing a Bard, Astrologian, or Ninja.

Also, yeah, get Awareness in there to stack with Raw Intuition, because you can't parry a crit - so stacking Awareness on it not only ensures a true 100% parry rate, but it negates the drawback of using Raw Intuition as well

I've been reading some guides and checking videos and stuff but I haven't really seen a clear answer.

Basically I'm brand new and I'm only really going to be able to play this game casually (2 hours a night, probably 4-5 times a week). What is the most braindead "drink a beer while playing" class? When I went on the SE forums (lel big mistake), all I found was literally every class crying about how hard their class was to play, whether it was healers whinging about stance dance/having to DPS while they heal, Tanks complaining that the gear they needed to run instances/raids/etc was better than the gear that dropped from said instance/raid/etc and muh melds, and DPS crying about having to be stationary turrets or some shit because Bards suck now.

I just want to be a drooling retard that contributes to the party and isn't going to get kicked for underperforming.

Tanks in this game are expected to also be party leader (mostly in a 4 man), which means marking and knowing what to attack in what order. In a bigger group, you can be an off-tank and just roll around and suck dicks all day but getting to that point isn't likely something you want to do.

Healers can just roll around healing the party for the bulk of the content, but end game requires them to switch stances and contribute some DPS to hit Enrage. If you're casual you might not ever hit this point, so this is a viable option if you don't mind being a heal slut.

DPS is a mixed bag. Physical DPS is pretty brainless, I'd say. Probably Lancer. Mages and Bard/Machinist get a little bit more complicated when it comes to optimal choices.

tl;dr, if you're king casual and want no end game, aim for White Mage, if you're medium casual and might want end game, aim for Dragoon.

They have a simple priority rotation, but when soloing can be a pain since you won't be able to hit your positional.

Crafted gear is getting a substantial boost in power too. It'll probably be on par with the 3.2 Alexander Normal gear (I'm guessing Alex NM gear and crafted will be i220, unupgraded Tomestone gear will be i230, and raid/upgraded tomestone gear will be i240).

Crafting will probably maintain an edge over the Alex NM gear if that's true, as overmelding is stated to not be possible on raid gear, but seems to be intact on crafted gear.

Under this system crafted gear can have stats equal to raid gear, because they've simultaneously nerfed the advantages crafted gear had previously by limiting the type and number of materia that can be melded. ie. Since you can't stack VIT/STR anymore there's no reason for crafted gear to be worse (however I imagine they're going to strictly limit the acquisition of crafted gear reagents so rich raid teams don't craft themselves a set of i230 gear on day 1 and blow through Savage Alex 2 Electric Boogaloo).

Capping stats on materia will basically be a thing of the past come 3.2. Accessories will basically either have 15 VIT if the player cares about their gear, 8 VIT if they don't or they're cheap/poor, or they'll just be exactly like non-tank accessories now where they only have one main stat, and the guaranteed slot is taken up by a Tier IV or Tier V secondary stat materia.

All that this amounts to is a big nerf to tanks (all of their accessories will either be 15 VIT, 50+ STR, or 50+ VIT, 15 STR), a substantial buff to healers (who can now meld Accuracy to all of their gear), a way for people to circumvent HP checks during early progresson (any non-tank slotting 15 VIT into their accessories), and a small but significant buff to everyone else (sticking 12 Crit or 12 Det into every slot of equipment you have will total out to somewhere between 1 and 2 points of Weapon Damage in terms of overall DPS increase.

When you're fighting fate bosses is there a way to condense other players debuffs into a single icon, or to simply turn off DoTs not inflicted by me? I found something similar, but it got rid of everything- including Antibody.

Or more generally, is there a way to make Focus Target display only debuffs inflicted by you?
FT would be a godsend for tracking my DoTs as an arcanist but it hates me; even in a 4-man dungeons it'd rather show my healers Aero or whatever the fuck than the relevant shit.

everyone was spread out at first, and they had to open new servers to handle the rush. since then people have pretty much been congregating to 4-5 "super servers", balmung being the largest. it's almost always jam packed and there's no RMT spam here because they can't even make characters. progression raiding is a thing, yes.

The only thing you might possibly want to know is Card synergy.

Bole you burn or give to a tank
Ewer you burn or use on yourself/cohealer
Spire you burn or give to whoever needs TP
Spear you really need a coordinated raid team and VOIP to use this properly; you're safe to just burn it while leveling, or otherwise give it to the best DPS
Balance you give to the best DPS class
Arrow you give to a DPS class

Never burn Balance or Arrow, and as an AST a parser is basically mandatory.

The community is very casual. It is extremely difficult to find a group that will stick it through difficult content unless you go to the other extreme and join a "hardcore" raiding FC.

The raids themselves are good and challenging if you go in when it is new, before everyone overgears it.

If you find that 1 Bard in 1000 that actually uses Foe's, certainly.

The cards are generally pretty straightforward if you take a moment to think about their effects.
The only real exception is that the casting/attack speed increase offered by Arrow does -not- work by boosting skill/spellspeed. Because of that it doesn't augment the tic-rate of DoTs, making Arrow synergise very poorly with Summoner.

1 - if crit>ss go noct otherwise diur..
2 - disable should be used on big hits on bosses and essentially whenever you can get away with it.
3 - cards: draw on cooldown and spend the card with in 5s. the following priorities are just what i've found to work best fofr me
Arrow: blm>drg>brd>nin>mch
spear: tanks>=healers>drg>nin
spire: tp under 50%>burn
ewer: is there a healer with under 50% mana otherwise burn
balance: blm>drg>war>brd>nin>mch>drk>pld>burn
bole: tanks>whoever is doing a high damage mechanic>burn
4 - party make up
sch: go diurnal no exceptions
whm: ss goes diurnal. crit goes noct
ast: figure out ahead of time who has the higher stat in what and stance accordingly

other than that basically play which ever stance you have like the related healer. and for the love of god use your cooldowns.

You can get them for as low as 10 everynow and then if you catch someone that is trying to transfer servers. I bought mine several months ago for 25mil, not counting the 4mil for the house itself. You should be fine with 30mil.

very true, it's just that i see a lot of people from below the Mendoza line traipsing about in nocturnal when they could better serve the party in diurnal. either way the stat builds for maining each stance differs just slightly since there isn't a huge choice of gear ss>crit>det for diurnal and crit>=ss>det for nocturnal. i doubt you'd see any actually competent astrologians going nocturnal in any sort of endgame unless they are either forced to or have the gear

I used to use it, but kept getting intermittent packet loss and lag spikes. It grew to be annoying enough that I abandoned the service after some 1500 hours.

Switched to Pingzapper and I haven't had an issue since. Lower ping as well, albeit only by 30 centiseconds.

With WTFast you should select Montreal if you're on a US data center, Germany if EU and Tokyo if JP.
Also server chaining gave me worse results so I wouldn't recommend it if that's what you're implying by "network route".

The warriors of light/darkenss are primals, just a different type than say: Ifrit.

From the lore we know that there are 3 types of primals. There are the normal ones like Ifrit which are summoned actively and drain a lot of aether to maintain themselves. There are also Elder Primals or Eikons (the empire stole that word from the allagans and are using it wrong) like Bahamut or Odin that have gone past needing huge amounts of aether to exist, and now actually generate it as confirmed by the Odin questline. There's alos a third class which has been mentioned, but not directly named.

I postulated to you this: the Paragons (WoL, WoD, and Ascians) are the third form of primal. They are primals created directly by one of the two real gods. They are not mortals since they can't actually be killed by normal means, and are capable of vanquishing lesser primals. They are, like all primals, also capabile of seeing into, and even influencing the minds of mortals.

1 - The WoL was created directly by Hydaelin.

So I'm not the best player but I'm interested in seeing more storylines.

I keep hearing people mention alphi's grandfather becomes a primal etc, but this wasn't in the msq. Is stuff like that all hardcore endgame content? Do i have any hope of ever seeing it?

I played a little of the Russian beta of Black Desert. Seems okay. It is very, very different than a game like XIV though. Has a lot more in common with Eve.

I didn't play enough to be sure, but it probably will. The pve is terrible, and the endgame seems entirely centered around pvp (economic or actually fighting people). World is beautiful and exploration/talking to npcs is important. Plus stuff like having a weight limit in your inventory (even money weighs so you cant just carry around a million silver pieces) will drive lazy mmo players fucking nuts.

Say Duality is ready, but I don't have a WAR with me so I have to Dancing Edge and still Armor Crush for Huton, is it ever correct to use Duality on one of those two instead of Aeolian?
I feel like sometimes Duality is around too long while I wait to be okay on Hutons duration, and I have to keep reapplying Dancing Edge.

If you're doing a proper rotation including your DE combo, there should be a time where you can get in a Duality AE attack without having to worry about Huton or DE falling off. Unless there's going to be a long phase transition or something it's best to wait for that opportunity to use it for the max potency.

Use AC when huton gets to around 28-22 seconds, if you do it properly you can always sneak in a AE every off combo between SF

The problem is there is no way for the game to tell you if you're doing bad or not. Parsers are frown upon, there is no message to "git gud" or you're fucking up, and you get the echo every time the team wipes, and now with some gating is going to be gone.

I mean, the next patch will completely make Bis EX obsolete now.

And worse of all Yoshi is listening to the casuals instead of the people who stuck around this game and give it actual critisim. These casuals for the most part aren't even going to stick around long enough profit off or even remotely play this game like how modern games are appealing to sjws even though they know those same sjws bitching would never buy the game.
