Damn, White Wind is really nice on a high HP job with good armor, and it turns out Flash is still useful even this far into the game. Blue magic is so good. Meanwhile Faris one-shotted two of these fuckers as a dual wielding Samurai with a Dancing Knife. I'm not quite as fond of what happens next though.

Sadly, you don't get a second slot. And as the other anon said, it's a random drop while Cloud is in your party (all the more reason to orb grind him to 80). Also, you need to have gotten his RM2 before his RM3 can drop.

So you have every character whose record materia you could possibly want to use leveled but you're having trouble with Jenova Life? I call bullshit on that. Whatever amount of orbs you can get from today's daily will make zero fucking difference if you're going to spend any amount of stamina on phase 4 of orbfest. It doesn't fucking matter if you finish the fight now or an hour before the event ends. I can understand doing non-orbfest stuff for mythril and stamina shards if you have what you need from the current phase, but farming dailies during orbfest is completely fucking retarded.

Sleep chance is 30% while stop is 70%. Stop is only worthwhile if its highly honed and you have good gear and hones to dish out 9999 dmg everytime. Just s/l until sleep procs on the first try and reapply sleep every other turn. Maybe consider bringing lunatic high or boon for a faster battle while Jenova is asleep.

As long as you haven't been running away from every random encounter, you should be fine. I don't even remember having to grind in the DS version which is the only one that isn't babby mode. You shouldn't go into fights assuming you should grind to a certain level: usually the right equipment and understanding the fight is all you need.

The DS version has an augment system that gives you some degree of customization over your characters by letting you teach new commands to them (primarily ones from non-permanent party members but not always) and the difficulty is indeed a lot higher: everything from trash mobs to bosses can actually be threatening in that version. As for Mana Spring II, it doesn't refill between floor stages, only between battles in the same dungeon. You won't be able to see it in the camp either, because it only refills at the beginning of the next battle, but it always does that without fail.

On the last boss go for the dog first, it casts Protect. You'll probably make it with this setup. If you use a Mythril refresh in the middle it'll be absolutely trivial. Try without, if it goes completely wrong and Ether refresh hates you, you can still change your mind later.

Whats the best way to level the jobbers (or any low levels)? I'm currently taking a couple of people that can summon, and using aoe RW + cactuar to clear the first battle. Usually someone dies, and the exp gets split between the other four. I then retreat from the orbfest dungeon and do it over again. Is there anyway to make this more efficient?

I'd buy it. I love musou. They should bring DQH to PC while they're at it. I don't have a console, but like DQ, just not as much as FF. I'd give it a chance, even though I still need to finish DQVII. It must be the second game I've played 30 hours in and barely scratched the surface of. Xenoblade Chronicles is the other, and I put nearly 100 hours into that and loved it at the end.

I've gotten 1 major from each of the first three phases. Only did 1 or 2 refreshes along the way, but I've been so careful to never let my stamina cap out that I set an alarm to get me up in the middle of the night when I'm about 30 minutes from capping.

I need a LOT of greater power orbs from this phase. And a stack of greater non-elementals wouldn't suck either. I have no expectations of getting the 4 major power orbs I need to make Full Break. And the RNG has been so consistently bad thus far that I'm not wasting any mythril on refreshes. I'm banking for the V and VI events at this point.

SUPPOSEDLY, after doing a normal draw, resetting the game will reset the gacha pool, meaning an apparent higher/normal chance to get better results, as if doing a normal draw affects subsequent ones. I was iffy about it myself, so I tested it once. Got a 5* weapon on the 5 mythril draw during Vaan's event after resetting.

Again, could just be placebo as their is no proof.

Hope's a black mage with 4* WM and some summoning on the side. Notably, he can use throwing weapons and his relics are throwing weapons, so there's crossover between him and Rinoa in that regard.

It's also worth noting that, once we get the boss rush and Ruinga with it, that magic will be at it's absolute strongest compared to melee ever, even with Cloud having a MC2.

Celes' event, as much as I love her, is basically a holding pattern in that regard; Celes isn't great unless you get her Soul Sabre, in which case she's good as both melee and mage, and Setzer is yet another FF6 character that isn't that good.

Then we get Bartz and Gilgamesh and the pendulum will begin swinging in the other direction pretty quickly, and once Steal Attack becomes available anyone with Thief 4 (Bartz and Vaan) is going to be absurd.

It definitely feels like magic still beats out melee even in Japan, but the gap is much closer and it probably won't be that much longer before it legit switches to melee being better (Ramza's relics seem nuts)

You forgot Ramza's third SB, which is him throwing rocks at the enemy (six hits with a chance to stun like Dismissal).

Also worth noting that the +50% ATK one and the AOE hit one are SSBs, and that Agrias' regular Soul Break is on a shield with +20% lightning damage (which will not save it from being useless unless they finally realized that shields shouldn't be complete trash)

No idea what skills Ramza will have, although Agrias is confirmed for 5* combat and definitely will have 5* Knight. Wouldn't be surprised if she had spellblades too.

Mage weapons are good but I am also severly lacking in armor is the thing. I technically have some decent mage weapons, but they are pretty non-versatile so its limited who I can use as a mage (magic sword terra/ashe, whip rydia/quistis, one rod for anyone) but for armor I have just a genji armor and the rest is 3-4 star combined.

Anyone know if I should combine bracelet type equipment (4 star) or leave them be? They're very weak compared to armor of the same rank, but with synergy I'm not sure if they will still be useful compared to non-synergized 5*s. The fact that they increase more than 2 stats is nice, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cloud didn't use any materia in Advent Children, did he? I seem to recall a scene with a box of materia just lying around on the airship and the characters going "well, guess we're not gonna use this shit." He was still able to do some pretty crazy shit so materia isn't the only thing that makes him powerful (not to mention all the limit breaks are moves that can be done without materia).

The only people I recall using Materia in AC were Kadaj and his gang.
I think the only time you saw them actually use a spell was when they Summoned, and maybe in the Ancient City.
Though I guess you can't always tell when Blue, Yellow or Purple Materia are being used.
I think it's safe to assume Tifa and Cloud had something equipped during their fight scenes.

Fucking hell Agrias is overpowered and I don't even know why

112 ATK at level 50, giving her the strongest spellblades in the game (remember, she's getting her MC2 already). 4* white magic to let her use Protectga and Shellga, or Curaja if you want a back-up healer. 5* Knight for Draw Fire and Armor Strike, or the new 5* Knight skill if you care one bit about that. And 5* combat.

She's a better Steiner, a better Beatrix, an arguably better Paladin Cecil, all combined into a single waifu.

Literally. Why. Melee sucked in FFT, she should suck in this game

For further reference, http://altema.jp/ffrk/charahyoka rates her at 85/100 without soul break equipment. Ignoring magic users, that's tied with Gilgamesh, Cloud, and Vaan. She's arguably better than them to boot, save for Gilgamesh's Draw Fire + Retaliate combo. Bartz is better but only because of Steal Attack + Spellblades and even then it's a really really close thing. That's with her at Level 65.

In 3 days she gets her second Memory Crystal.

She could be the new BARTZ.

It's pretty retarded. XI did stay at 75 cap too long and people didn't like the growing pains of how rapidly they increased the cap to 99. But I really feel like the game is going out in a good place and is still a blast to play. And it will be that way for a few more years.

Here's a list:

Sub Rune Fencer is awesome for magic heavy content and can really marginalize it. Plus you get some good defensive buffs and spells to play around with. Puppetmaster got massive buffs and is know to be able to tank the hardest content effectively. Geomancer is a fucking blast to play too. Trusts make any job combo able to solo a ton of fun content. I've been enjoying jobs I've never tried before, like Corsair. I love XI

It's always 100gems , but if you're spending cash, i recommend you use gems for item draws, and mythril for refills. Compare: 50 mythril = 50 refills = 11x pull vs 3000 gems = 30 refills = 11x pull.
