what does shaman need to be viable

is it just overload that makes it shit?

I mean we finally got a draw card. It's a little shittier in some ways than arcane intellect but overload 1 doesn't hurt that much late game when you'd need it

Mostly Overload. Blizzard values it too weakly and makes cards only slightly stronger than without Overload.

Generally, Overload cards have too much load attached to it to warrant the effect. The draw is good, most others aren't.

Overload really fucks with curve and since this game is a shitty tempo battle every time now, he's really hurting. I'm hoping ancestor's call picks up, because that's one of the few toys I really like on the guy and I want more to focus around it.

So, i made hearthpwn guide for dreadsteeds. It really does work and i think its the best dreadsteed list out there, i have tried all variations with jaraxxus and zoo like theme, demons and no demons,doomsayers. Nothing works like this list. This could be patron 2.0.

As much as I hate Reynad, he's right when he said that stuff like that shaman draw card is great, the problem that is with it, is that it draws shaman cards.

In other words, shaman cards overall are fucking underwhelming.

No, you must play a "Minion" card, so that druid 1/1 root card or a paladins hero power don't work with hobgoblin.

I'd still pick juggler

tempo is everything in arena, having a good 2 drop like juggler or minibot is way more important than having a good 7 drop.

also you need more lower curving cards than you do higher ones so it's better to pick them first if you get good ones

That's a, one of those. Dealies. Where you misrepresent value of an action because of personal bias. One of those things.

There will be other picks, but you need more early game. If you pick all the lategame at the start, even if it's good stuff, you're betting on there being early game at the end when you shouldn't.

I think MCT is better. He thinks Imp Master is. I have two really amazing 1 drops and some good 2 drops so I may well have the board on turn 3. But I have no board clear.

This seems like a knotty one.

MCT gives the possibility of a comeback where imp master is unplayable on a board you don't control. And if I only have a couple of fast cards I feel I should go for the one that punishes the face-only idiots who plague arena.

I feel like whenever I play rogue in arena the game wants me to play tempo/aggro. Most of the 2 drops came a long with 2 garbage cards so I had to pick them anyway. Not that I'm complaining

Rogue has the best stand-alone tempo cards but not big drops. So you usually end up playing aggressively.

But with no direct damage fel reaver is pretty shitty. You only have eviscerate and perdition's blade. Not really enough to finish anyone. And you've only got the one 1drop so you're probably not going to get any landslide games. I feel like that's the kind of deck that's gonna have an aggressive start but then just get wrecked when you can only play 2 drops on turn 5.

I'm gonna guess 6 wins.

Where can new players go to look for cheap and good decks? Any particular site that has cheap decks to work towards or are we expected to check out >streams and hope their deck(s) are cheap?

Torn between Zoolock or some aggro mage/druid or a juicy face hunter. Even then I'm not 100% sure on the cards--I sure as shit don't have enough to make a complete and optimal deck.

Assuming you mean legos only. All decks that use them use other legos, but Dragon priest is probably easiest to go for out of those if you have BRM. It doesn't use alex but uses ysera. Decks that use alex usually use a ton of legos.

I've been using mine for a solid month with absolutely zero issues, it even got me 5 ranks on ladder that I didn't feel like doing myself
Blizzard's inept, so their main method of detection is checking for unusual play times (30 hours of play or something), but they're apparently bad at even that since there are stories of people leaving their bots on for three days straight with no issues.
Just don't be a moron and turn it off at night.

As many have said, until Rogue gets some kind of good class healing card, they can't stand up in this meta

Aggro is too difficult to deal with since they have to remove many things with their weapon and virtually no healing, and they struggle with many Control matchups because of shit like Trueheart.

I try do play Arena, though I rarely get very far. Doesn't help that I'm a paladin main and hate pretty much everything else besides rogue.

I had one run where I finally got Paladin with a semi legit deck (Loatheb) managed to get 4 wins before getting destroyed by some proper bullshit. Like Ram wrangler summoning king Krush on turn 3.

Last run I tried to play Hunter since 'face hunter' seemed pretty straightforward after getting killed by it enough times. Did not get a single trap or weapon, and one kill command. It was a sad day.

Mage is the easiest class to play in arena if you don't mind playing that once in a while. In paladin you have to balance out when you use your heropower for value and when you have to play out your hand for tempo and have to set up the board in order to play buffs, which isn't particularly obvious to a new player, but with mage you just ping off things you can get to 1 health so it's a bit easier. Plus you can't really go wrong with fireball and flamestrike.

Once you've got the hang of the game, you will make gold off of arena runs. If you've got the time it's the best way to get cards. Try watching someone like Kripp (nl_kripparian on Twitch) play and use a site like Heartharena to help draft your deck.

I guess gnomish experimenter isn't that bad compared to injured blade though. It's like 1 attack in exchange for a possible extra draw. Unless you're relying on a lot of +1 attack buffs to kill their four drop like direwolf alpha and so long as it doesn't run into spidertank it's pretty good.

Basically Paladin has a bunch of fucking bullshit cards that let them dominate the early game and also come back really easily and have huge tempo swings on turn 4 and I wish they were nerfed to the ground so no one ever played them again.

What's the difference between control, tempo, and aggro?

I'm afraid I don't know a lot of the terminology/slang for types of decks.

"Mulligan" is also quite the interesting word, I wonder what its origins are (I know what it means, don't worry)

How much of this vocabulary is imported straight from Magic/YuGiOh and how much is unique to Hearthstone?

I guess you could also compare it to grom/taskmaster or something, which is a weaker version.

I may be downplaying myself just a little. I played the beta quite a bit, and spent the last 2 weeks or so getting back into it. Level 40ish with Rogue and Paladin.

The problem I'm having is Paladin doesn't seem the best suited for a 'control' deck where I'm trying to swing an advantage by trading one minion for two. With that I either run myself out of cards or they pull some ridiculous legendary combo like Kel thuzad or that fucker that creates copies of every card played. I had one fucker summon deathwing free of charge into his 5 minion board and full hand.

Also when looking for advice in a guide or other decks, its oversaturated with high cost decks, or the basic 0 cost deck that is essentially the same for everyone.

A control deck is a deck that tries to control the opponent with removal/defensive minions until the late game where they drop their huge minions and win.
Tempo is a little complicated, but it's basically like the flow/progression of the game. A tempo deck tries to stay on curve and be the one presenting the threats rather than responding to them. If you're the one removing your opponent's minions, you don't have the tempo
Aggro is a deck that's aggressive, obviously. It shits out a bunch of tiny minions to swarm the opponent and kill them before it gets to the late game where they will lose since they don't have big minions.

None of those terms are from hearthstone.

So what is everyone running currently? Made this baby, which is essentially a reworked version of the undertaker hunter from a year ago or so. Not sure if I keep the Sylvannas in there and also not sure about the Ram Wrangler, might become a sludge belcher or loatheb in the future.

Control Warrior is a bit of a weakness though it's possible to win. But there's probably no better feeling than seeing Paladins play mysterious challenger on turn 6 and then seeing all their secrets disappear :^)

So fucking done with this game, I don't enjoy any other class and blizzard fucking refuses to buff rogue. Oil and pirate both require so much fucking draw rng/luck in general, while also needing to plan so fucking far ahead. Meanwhile druid/paladin just drop shit and mages shit out all of their ten thousand utility abilities.

FoK needs a buff or a second aoe ability needs to be brought into the game and we need a fucking minion with combo: heal 4-10 (depending on card cost) that isn't total shit

The most success I've had is running every divine shield I can fit along with blood knight.

2x Argent Squire
2x Shieldbot
2x Scarlet Crusader (Waifu)
1x Silent Knight
1x Silvermoon Guardian
1x Sunwalker
2x divine protection

Rest is just Pally spells and blood knight, I usually try to drop him for 9/9 as soon as possible.

I've also heard I should be building a deck around 1 or 2 specific cards and using that to win. Though I would imagine the moment that card gets assassinated or shadow worded your strategy is essentially fubar.

For some reason I seem to get Alex like 6 times more than Archmage but I love winning with either of them. Especially if Emperor sets it up for like 2 fireballs 2 lances and a frostbolt or two in one turn.

What do you guys like watching from HS streamers?
I really only like constructed. I'm not sure why, but Arena just isn't as exciting. It just feels boring and repetitive. And I know that constructed is basically the same few classes/decks in a while, but I'd rather see a smaller pool of good decks vs good decks.

You'd need, like, knife juggler, muster for battle and divine favour. You should probably have all the rest of the stuff; kings, might, leper gnomes, truesilver, consecration, shielded minibot, abusive sergeant. That sort of thing.

Honestly, that kind of stuff is pretty boring. But even a more mid-rangey paladin is gonna need, like, quartermaster, big game hunter, equality, aldor, murloc knight, shredders. But really those kind of decks still rely on a Dr. Boom, Tirion and Sylvanas or something along those lines.

Draw as much as you can to get a good discount out of Thaurissan with Antonidas and frostbolts/ice lances/frost nova for many fireballs next turn.

This game became absolute shit the moment the community became a copy of a league of legends community.

All the "pro players" and an idiot community that begs for guide so they can play the exact same build and items as the top players. The top players wanna make money so they put their shit out to get more popular on social media while the game itself dies because every fucking person in ranked plays the same 4 or 5 types of decks they found an online guide for that is "recommended" for their levels.

In league it was okay because items and perks don't really matter in a moba as much as skill. In a turn based card game? Skill is taken way out when you are just playing cards.

Show me a paladin above level 20 in ranked that doesn't play a shitty silver hand recruit boost deck they found a guide for or a merloc inspire guide they found. All fucking pathetic brainless shits.

I actually do hope hearthstone dies even though I play it. At least then the idiot masses would leave.

I was rank 1 Eu, lost 4 in a row and now im rank 2.

2 face hunters, aggro druid, and tempo mage. All loses on turn 6.

With Patron out the only good decklists are control and fatigue, fatigue obviously taking even longer than control. You could try to meme it up with mech or aggro warrior but It would still take a while since you would be losing a lot.

I found Varian useful in a lot of matchups; midrange druid especially was one where I found him really really strong.

the problem was, he was literally nothing in a CW mirror. Like, I couldn't even play him because it'd just kill me, so I ended up just taking him out for that reason.

There's a pretty simple way to "kill" those decks, one by one, and it only requires enough people, is not even hard.

We think about a competitive deck good enough to allow us reach a decent rank but mainly focused on destroying one of the mainstream deck. We will never reach legend with this rank, but if enough players keep roaming ranked with those decks, eventually, the mainstream deck they are built against will die because people will get tired of getting their butts served on ranked.

So, what do you think? Can't we achieve this here?

If you're not about to be lethal'd on that very turn, he can be a decent play against something like zoolock. Pulling out taunts is great, you might also draw into stuff you really need. Even if you don't, he definitely built you a board instantly that you can use to take back the game the turn right after.

honestly, I liked him a lot, more than ysera in most matchups, and I really didnt wanna take him out, but that fucking CW mirror.

argent squire is so good. since im not running 0 mana spells the best way to proc agent is on 4 with a 1 drop. having a 1 on 1 is a massive advantage anyway, and it trades so well with pally shitters. I can't answer that question man unless i saw your games but if you can't get past rank 13 youre doing a lot of stuff wrong. rogue is also a bad deck and a high skill cap deck so if youre not the best player try something easily like hunter or paladin.

I mean if you only swing once with a cold blood it was a bonus eviscerate so I try not to be too greedy. the divine shield is good on its own and of course has synergy with oil and cold blood if u can take it

the secret the deck is killing them by turn 8. you either widdle them down with shitters, or buff up an ass blade and flurry it. golem+oil on 7 is a sick play.

Shuffling that ordered list is still possible. Just don't act like you have an equal chance to draw any card at any time because it's predetermined.

A shuffle mechanic could just be something used when you feel like that card you need is at the bottom of the list

If you buy all wings of Naxx and all wings of BRM you'll be in excellent shape

If you want to maximize savings then maybe plan ahead. Research what classes you wanna make decks for, what cards from the expansions those decks would require, and which wings/bosses give them, and then just try to buy the ones you need (but if you want to buy the rest later, it will end up costing you more)

I have. It's not fun. You sit back with 1 mana cost removals, stack up on armor and waste an hour of everyone's time until you can drop legendaries from your wallet and fatal after your opponent has lost all momentum because you killed all his minions for 6 mana with 2 weapons and execute.

They need to add a counter to armor or cap the amount you can have at a time to 5.

How can this deck be improved? I was originally playing mechmage until I got Tirion, thus why I am running Mechadin. I'm playing F2P btw, with no expacs.

Am I the only one who feels like Muster isn't that good?
I mean, I realize the value it gets. 3 1/1s and a 1/4 weapon for just a measly 3 mana, that's great. But it's always met with a Fan of Knives or a Whirlwind or something and it feels like an awful card.

Rogue is the laboratory where Blizzard puts all its half baked ideas pretty much. Anub is for some theoretical Rogue control, they wanted to add an activator for Inspire so you got the shitified dagger, also tbh I have seen Gallywix wreck people, I bet vs. a Tempo Mage he would annoy the hell out of them, its like a 5/8 Lorewalker Cho. Its just too slow for Oil probably.

basically the only way this would ever see play ever is if on lethal damage, it pulled this out of your hand into the field and took that lethal damage, and gave u overload of like, 6 or something on your turn, in which its still wouldnt see play because that usually means you cant do anything because... overload lol
