gauntlet is fun. fun is valuable too. and you probably get good value out of it if you understand the game. i played it on my first day of playing duelyst and went 5/3, got 30 gold ( so it's like costed me 120), one pack, one epic card(which is, in the long run, going to be as valuable as half a pack) and some shards..

Its a draw, you both lose. however if youre both at 2 hp and you attack him, you win.

Also slightly related, if your back is to a backstab minion and you turn to attack it, you wont get backstabbed. But if its a general you will, for whatever fucking reason

technically, you do

you're attacking, not counterattacking, and the backstabber still gets the attack bonus.

new player here,i am having a great gauntlet, currently 7/1.
i drafted TON of provoke. holy hell that's 5 silverfuck knights.

i noticed that gauntlet decks can only deal with a limited number of bullshit, in other words they have too few removal, way less removals than i have provoke guys. this constatly force them to take cost-inefficient trades which is the point of provoke as an ability. but talking about cost efficiency you can't compete with 5 fucketyfuck knights and the enemy is doomed to lose Board.
to make it sting harder i have plenty of "Open gambit: deal damage".shame i don't have the healing mystics.
purgatos and lady locke actually did next to nothing compared to the rest.

i highly suggest anyone who gets the opportunity to abuse provoke and "2 for 1" opening gambets together.

not enough removals but plenty of serious threats.

watch your health as your elucidators might have to be your removals, and looking at your other creatures it's quite likely that you'll have to tank some damage in the early game too( for example to protect a ranger or a grower and the enemy is quite likely to ignore your silithars too and go for your face). also no provoke to save your ass.

I'm having fun slowly building my deck up but the games are starting to seem kind of samey: cast your shit, get it dispelled or kicked to the back of the field. Repeat over and over again until someone gets unlucky and doesn't draw the proper removal, at which point the 7-9 mana's come out and the game ends immediately

Paddo is fun, Archon is pretty bad

Sunriser is good although not as good after the Sundrop Elixir nerf

Winterblade is pretty shit, you have a 0 mana stun that doesn't damage your general and is global.

Aerial Rift is bad, if you're playing Lyonar then your main provokes are only good with their Zeal effects and your Ironcliffes have Airdrop already. It's redudant

Yeah, I stopped using sunrisers due to how incredible useless they were for me, not a bad card, it just never spawned, in all my matches only once was I able to use her.
I'm playing with Suntides now, usually get ignored untill it's too late so it's good

How many do you run with?
I have 3 tempest 2 sun and 3 martyrs and it's more than enough, usually they run out with one tempest and one bloom, if you're healyio it's a good idea to wait a bit before playing them (if you can), usually they are dumb enough to put them together, or spam enough minions (don't use tempest first otherwise you get baited.)
Only match you lose against abyssians are the ones where you fuck up the last move.

basically yes.
a bit of less RNG, more skill cap, more skill and thinking required, easier to get legendaries/ultrare cards, client able to melt toasters despite being a 2d game.

it's not MMDOC level of strategy but it's definitely leagues better than HS watered down strategy.

Only put windstorm at the 5 turns or more just to pin opponent downs othewise the +3 health block fatal combo to general. Need more starfire scarab 3 should be okay. Scion's second wish is useless half of the time. Keep only 1. get more bone swarm and 1 displacing dog it will help those pesky airdrop. I find windstrike rarely useful unless you are already overwhelmed your opponent.

Pick a taunt or two and a single cosmic flesh(doesn't need more). Seriously 1 scarab isn;t enough.

It's the only deck i play pretty much, you outvalue them with your efficient minions and also have a decent amount of burst. It can even beat a control magmar in the lategame most of the time value-wise.

However, the deck has no catchup mechanics outside of avalanche, and if they play around avalanche you are completely fucked

Eh, it would play similar to control magmar except youre collecting combo pieces instead of getting to a point where your cards provide too much value for your opponent to deal with.I dont think many people would play around it. the only decks ive seen from gold to S rank are; Burn songhai, aggro abyssian, healyonar, control magmar, pay2win vetruvian, Random ass vanar that never won any of the very few games i played against them.

Honestly healyonar really suffers in a lot of control matchups because healing doesnt matter if the enemies minions are too big.

Lyonar can only deal with big threats through martyrdom which is directly harmful to ending the game early enough that they wont get outvalued by units like silithar elder

Killing Edge should give 3 attack, not 4. It's fucking ridiculous, for 6 mana you can give any minion 8 damage, plus if it has backstab you get to draw another card. This plus the 1 drop 3 attack for that turn mean too much damage per turn paying so little.

Even if they sentinel them out of range egg morph makes life hard

I can't remember. I hated how I lost everytime as magmar when I had the first turn so I wanted low mana minions. Shield Oracle was good to me so no regrets with that. All in all I had pretty bad picks.
I lost the last match.

One match (that I miraculously won) I Lightbendered my 5/11 Kolossus before I had even attacked with it.

Draugar is pure value and is useful in almost any situation, frosthorn is a "remove me or die" card that is only useful when you are ahead on the board. Draugar is much better IMO.

Draugar Lord might be a nice bit of bulk to put in the field, but Frosthorn Rhyno can be straight up "answer or lose" card with its potential 14 damage, so go for that instead.

Hah. Same thoughts, different conclusions. I can agree with Draugar but only really if the deck does already have some cards that fit as finishers, like say, the Arctic Displacer to Hearth Sister combo, or Aspect of the Drake

Aah, so you wondered if you wanted a *second* Frosthorn Rhyno.

Since you already have Spirit of the Wild, personally, i really want to say go for the Rhyno because you got the possible highest damage from-hand combo Vanar can have, 14 dmg for 9 mana. 2 rhynos makes it more consistent.

Some other advice that you're free to ignore: Switch Dancing Blades for a 2nd Razorback or Emerald Rejuvenator, and a Chromatic Cold for Hailstone Prison

Well, I made it to gold running this shit budget list.

The tricks here are that Mark of Solitude on your own Vale Hunter at least trades straight across 2 cards for 2 cards, you take down a high priority enemy minion, and then whatever removal they use on it.
And if they don't remove it instantly then you basically win the game right there because it just dominates the early game.

Then just punch people in the face with the balanced wolf man and Arctic Displacer.
Razorback and Frost fire let you kill people when they think they're safe, which I'm sure you already know.

I honestly don't know why I have 2 Rogue Warden in here, but apparently it worked?
It shouldn't have.
