Honestly the problem is that so many off-class items appear on the loot table. I swear I was playing WH BP yesterday and had a roll where the only WH items were a green and a blue. All oranges were for the elf, and the rest of the blues were BW. Off-class drops should be 1-2 per roll, not the other way around

WH also gets extra fucked with loot since literally half of the weapon types for his class are objectively shit.

Eh, I think WH melee is up to taste/trait rolls, although I do prefer how fast the rapier is.

But yeah, rolling an exotic repeater/crossbow is a terrible feeling.

The only major flaw is some classes are over-represented, and bad exotics are worthless. I'm thinking it's easy for wizards because we have so many staff choices, so the loot table gets filled up with them. While classes that only have a couple of weapons get shafted because the table isn't biased enough towards them.

Otherwise, it's easy enough to get anything you want right now. Cata BP takes almost no time at all, and usually drops blues. They wanted a system to keep people playing for weeks, 3 days in and I already have almost perfect gear aside from trinkets and some poor rolls.

Mace is better CC because the left clicks knockdown 5+ skaven each time. I assume sword has better damage, though orange mace still 2-shots everything on NM

The damage difference is negligible, the real downside to mace & shield is that the shield bash is significantly slower than the sword & shield one.

Globadiers and gutter runners are both iconic skaven units and really fit the roles they were given, I cant see anything else being done with them.

Packmasters were a clever pick to fit the role and the rest are all unique.

Just because something is the same as l4d doesn't mean its bad, something has to fill those roles and keep the team together.

No you didn't. Unless you have 4 other friends, in which case giving you "the elf role" in a 4 player game means that they're trying to politely tell you to fuck off. Enjoy going "hey guys, wanna play?" and getting the response "ah, this mission is better without an elf, sorry".

There are 5 characters to choose from, pick the other one.

I got the game yesterday because I saw bad reviews about it's performance, they are a few games ahead of me and by the time I got in everyone called dibs on their character.

I got over 200 hours on L4D so I know the basics and how and when to spend limmited goodies I just want to know if the starting bow and dagers are the best option to her or if there's something better available, read that the dagger and sword are good and the long bow performs well but I dont have them yet.

Is the blunder's range more like a sawed off or focused like regular shotgun? Sometimes it acts like both.

In fact I'm confused by the hit boxes for certain weapons like the soilder's sword and sheild. It's like I'm only using the tip instead of the entire blade when I swipe and have problems dealing with multiple targets I've knocked down, but do much better with the axe and sheild.

But they are all niche cases never having been explored in any serious way in the setting. "Orc Mercenaries" as a whole are not a thing. Not in Empire/Dwarf/Elf armies anyway. At best you might be looking at a case of some Border Prince or Noble having shady deals with one, but an Orc unit is never going to take the field with Humans. And as such, an Orc character is sure as hell not going to appear in the current team.

Since I'm sure FatShark is already wise to it and I doubt whatever employees they have lurking these threads be snitches, I'll tell you.

At the beginning of the level, before you drop down into the main area, one person goes ahead of the group and climbs the tower-like structure with the two ammo spawns. They proceed to sit on the stool and snipe specials as they spawn. This causes all the rats to aggro on them, but they can't actually reach the tower-dweller.

Everyone else runs around collecting the barrels as normal, while staying as far away from the tower-dweller as possible. Most groups gather all the barrels in the center area before loading them, but it doesn't really matter; rats shouldn't aggro on you while loading.

There's one barrel that spawns near where the tower is, that you can't reach without aggroing all the rats. What you can do, is have a party member with an accurate long-range weapon snipe the barrel. This will make it respawn in a better spot.

I'm a bit ashamed that I haven't tried Soldier or Dwarf yet, so I feel it's about time. I've mostly avoided them because I prefer having longer range and doing a lot of damage (mostly played BW).

What are some top/high tier weapons for them? I saw someone say shields are not good until nightmare or something, and I've heard 2H weapons aren't good unless you coordinate your attacks with someone else.

Get better at not taking damage.
Right now, alot of the abilities and damage increases are pretty poor.
Learn how to dodge attacks, deal with the ogre and storm vermin.
Get a setup you like and go with it.
Loot comes with playing the game.

Strictly speaking, Cata BP is probably the most power-leveling shit you can do, but I'm betting a lot of retards will kick you because of your level.

Learn to not take chip damage when fighting the basic rats by blocking, pushing, and dodging and you'll notice your rate of survival skyrocketing.

If anything needs to be done then they need to just fix the exploits as fast as possible. You could ban people or rollback, but that's only going to fucking piss people off and make your company look bad. Especially in cases like this where the exploit is the shitty game AI and nothing like using 3rd party tools to alter memory addresses.

Here's the thing about weapon viability.

All weapons (with some few exceptions) work. Witch-hunter crossbow works. Hagbane (kinda) works. However, Brace of Pistols and Longbow/Trueflight work BETTER. And in a team-based game like this, playing sub-optimally makes many players feel like dead weight, which to some extent they are.

tl;dr just because you can get carried by people who aren't using trash weapons doesn't make your trash weapons any better.

All mobs and shit is there, 95% of all quests in the t1/2 zones work fine (you can't even go to t3/4 zones yet). PQs don't work at all beyond the first stage (can still get rewards by farming stage 1 endlessly). ToK stuff is NYI.

ORvR is the main focus, l2read. t1/2 RvR works fine, with custom lock mechanics. So if you want to do something else than RvR you're pretty much stuck grinding 20+ yeti's in Troll Country.

Poison ticks stack. I won't lie it's not great for clearing trash and you'll get your kills "stolen" quite often but focusing on special units you'll be doing the majority of the work. You can even beat out magdumping WHs on ogres. Just tote a melee weapon you like for clanrats. You'll usually have less kills registered than if you used a longbow but your damage done will jump by a shit load and that's how you know you're pulling your weight.

Really wish my hagbane had good traits on it but it's decent enough as is.

It worked double. Like if i picked up a medkit but didn't duplicate it and swapped said medkit with a bottle for example, and then he picked up the medkit i failed to duplicate, he also has a chance to duplicate said medkit.

We had literally unlimited medkits, bottles, potions and bombs. I can only image how insane it would be to have 4 players with 12% or 10% duplication trinket.

Anyone who says the elf is bad has just been playing with shitters. With dual swords, you can effectively stunlock mobs, and a trueflight bow is a godsend for dealing with everything but far away specials, which you should leave to a soldier or dwarf anyway.

She's the best class if you want kills and damage, followed by BW. The men are all dogshit in comparison.

Her only weapons which are usable is the aimbot bow and the dual daggers because headshot on normal attack.

Everything else is awful, and even with her optimal loadout she's outclassed by everyone else. There isn't anything she can do which the others can't do better.

I sometimes find it difficult to be annoyed at elves since I know how trash she is.

If yes to either these questions there is no reason you can't play normal difficulty.

That's the best set up if your team isn't completely retarded.

Can't destroy hordes as good as Dual Swords but has much better single target damage with its power attack.

Trueflight is pretty good but it doesn't work properly half the time and makes me wish I was using a regular Longbow.

With TF2's random hat drop system all you had to do was have the game open to get stuff, so someone made a program that ran the 'game' with as little resources as possible so people could just have it open in the background all day and get hats.

Valve gave a special halo hat to everyone that didn't use the program and the people that didn't get one were mad as fuck, to the point that some of the most popular mods at the time replaced the halo with a 'Faggot' sign, or made it invisible.

Say what you want about exploits, but Fatshark only has themselves to blame. They released a loot system that is absolutely horrendous, and they're getting uppity because people wanna make it a bit less ball breaking.

I have no problem with grinding for gear, Ive played WoW for years, but for fucks sake to get a good epic how many fucking dice do you have to roll? RNG for the dice to roll well, RNG for it to be for someone you want, RNG for it to be a not shit weapon, RNG for good traits, RNG for those traits to roll well.

They feed people this and DONT expect people to go for easy shit? They need to admit their mistakes and just fix the fucking maps and the loot system.

I don't know. This is the first I've heard of banning being a possible response to exploiters. I think it's unlikely, personally, because of the sheer number of people who have done it. If that's the route they take, though, then I'll be looking for a refund.

As to why they would care, I'm not sure that they would. You occasionally see people whining on the Steam forum about exploiters, which never really made sense to me because it's a co-op game. There's no real competition here. Other players getting their gear through exploits doesn't seem to me to have any impact on your gameplay experience.

True, but it should be common knowledge at this point that almost every lobby running BP on cata is doing so with the intention of using the exploit. There's an easy way around this too: host your own lobby with people who share your views on exploiting.

In any case, ultimately this comes back to the devs. If they view exploiting as a real epidemic then the natural response should be to correct the game.

What is the big difference between the dwarf's shield+axe/mace and the empire soldier shield+sword/mace?

I notice that for some reason in the stats the dwarfs shield has more targets and more knockback, is it because its a round shield and not a buckler looking shield?

Well, the dwarf axe cuts through armor no matter what. The dwarf shield and human shield both have a type of cleave, but don't cut through armor unless you charge attack.

The sword, I haven't used a whole lot. I don't think it can cleave and I know it doesn't cut through armor without charging. Honestly, I'm not sure the sword has any really great things going for it if you already have the mace and shield. Not counting weapon traits though.

Also what does the LMB shield bash represent? The normal shield strike attack or the charged attack? I take it its charged since it knocks people down but I think not as many as a shield bash.

Shield push isn't an attack, it's a push. Charged shield attack is a shield bash, that's the charged attack. Normal attack is the weapon.

I don't think there's any glaring differences between the charge attacks.

All shield/1h charge attacks have armor penetration though.

And I'm pretty sure all you can do with the shield as far as aggression goes is just a charge attack.

Things I have learned playing with a shield on pubs:
I am supposed to block all damage from enemies coming in front of us.
I am supposed to also block all damage from the back.
I am supposed to not let anyone take damage ever.
I don't ever need healthpots/medkits as I have a shield and that means I shouldn't take damage ever.
I am supposed to hold onto medkits only to heal others.
I am supposed to solo a tank and all special rats.
I am not allowed to get the most kills.

IF I disobey any of these rules at any time others are allowed to scream at me and votekick me.
Seriously I got votekicked for getting hooked in the ammo room during horn despite the fact we had a WH, Mage and elf behind me with the ammo box.

I believe it is working fine. If you were doing damage to the Stormie then that means the armor penetration was working. The charge attack just does piss damage regardless, it does the same damage as the normal attack. It's more about stunlocking Stormies and knocking back the little shits, while also damaging them. Some guy who sounded like he knew his shit told me in a BP cata run today that stamina is best used for bashing aggro on Stormies and blocking as opposed to bashing hordes when you can just get the same result but with charged attacks.

On difficulties above hard (and on hard, even) it isn't the shield wielder's job to kill shit as much anymore so much as CC it and/or group it up for your nerds to kill.

All they need to do is implement a snowball kind of mechanic for loot.

Every time you complete a mission you get a carry over die. Its an auto success in the roll screen. All carry over dice are lost if you lose a round, or you play a level you have already have a carry over die for.

This promotes playing every map, and promotes getting good.

Is it just me or is the rpaier charge attack hitbox kind of off? It feels like you can align the dot on the exact same spot of a rat's head and half the time it will be a HS and the other half you hit them in the shoulder or something.

It's got Mastercrafted, so that's all that matters. Bloodlust roll is a bit low, and Ammo Holder is okay, though you shouldn't ever run out of hand gun ammo unless you're getting swarmed by specials.
