>>120579031This is not D&D, This Warhammer while it still pulls from common Tolkien Tropes, it had a unique flavor compared to other fantasy settings which helped it rise to popularity in the 1980's in being a grim and dark horror setting for war a table top war game. Each faction has distinct cultural, visual and play differences differences.
Empire Humans are early 17th centurty Germans with Guns and Rennaisance Di Vinci Steam Punk vehicles, but still has clasic wizards and knights backed by line infantry of pikes and arquebus
Bretonian Humans are 11th century feudal English/French, who hate technology and even hate ranged weapons in general, but allow their peasant armies to use bows, have arthurian legend inspired magic and knights. Then you have Dwarves, high end Steam Punk technology with a little Viking Rune Magic, their Tech is almost 19th century with brass cased ammo Tesla Technology and breach loading rifled cannons and WW1 level submarines and blimps
Then you have the High Elves and Wood Elves...typical magical assholes with pointy ears that are ageless and are OP because they practice the same skill for thousands of years, but unlime other fantasy settings, whole they can be described as beautiful by some due to their ballerina like grace when moving, humans find them disturbing or unsettling, they have almond shaped eyes , sharp teeth and lithe narrow and thin pointy features that make thrm look...alien...
Wood elves have a more Celtic or Druid mythology theme living in trees with fairys while the High Elves live in Castles and are more Ancient Romans meets Atlantis. Both use Leaf blades.
Point is, if you want a sythe as a weapon, your going to have to be a necromancer and unlike Diablo, there are no good guy Necromancers.
