Is our game gender neutral?

Why does it seem like there's such a lack of exposure for female raiders in ffxiv and it also seems like there are even fewer female pvpers? Is this an issue in our game?

I feel like there's a lot of female ffxiv players out there yet most of the raids are dominated by male players. Thoughts?

You're right there are a ton of female players but it isn't as rare as you're making it out to be to find them in a raiding setting.

Most of the females are usually casual players, even in this game.

Why are MNK players always the ones with the highest DPS? Outside of savage, in my experience EVERY monk i had was superior to the other DPS and always doing 800+ even in expert or bis ex and when there's one the run is always super fast even if the healer does 0 dps. Is that because of low skill ceiling? Easy to play? Best playerbase?

So we all agree that female players are kept out of raiding and that men intend to keep it that way, relegating them to menial tasks and quite literally telling them to get back to the kitchen (culinarian).

What can we do as a community to fix this issue? How can we give women the representation in raiding that they deserve?

I don't think we as a community can do anything, but SE needs to make some rules regarding raiding.

They should make some affirmative action policies, which forces FC's to recruit a female player if she applies for a raiding spot.
And if SE finds out that you did not recruit this female player, they should just permaban the whole FC.

I think this is really needed because the way FFXIV discriminates females with their gender norms.

If Gordian weapons get the bump to i215, relics will probably be 215 to start with. If Gordian weapons stay at i210, that's what the relic will be.

I find the race generally unattractive, although I have seen some pretty ones. I've got no problem with the cocks, it's the muscles and the way people seem to make their faces/makeup that I don't like. And my limited interaction with their players: one constantly talked about their futa cock and made suggestive replies when people said stuff that could be misinterpreted, the other pets me constantly and uses emoticons in chat, the other takes creepshots of my character, and two were nice and relatively normal. You're not all bad. Some of you are though. And the outraged roe defense force makes shitposting about you fun.

VIT only increases your HP, it's very useless. There are very few situations where if only you had that extra few hundred hp you'd live. Meanwhile STR will always be useful especially for holding emnity and of course doing more damage.

It's up to you to decide really, VIT is more of a fallback for shit healers and stuff like that, whereas STR increases your damage output by quite a bit, which helps speed along dungeons and other things. There's an item you can buy for GC seals that's super cheap to switch atribute points, so try both out.

they're also making crafted gear stronger since it won't have materia slots anymore. i imagine crafting/gathering gear won't change.

Changes to materia melding in patch 3.2:
Hardcore raiders have been using accessories with melded materials. Particularly, tanks who want vitality and to put out dps have been melding vit materia into str accessories. This is unfair that tanks have to shell out so much gil for these accessory.
The change: no main stat melds on EXTRA slots. (advanced melding) Open melding slots will still be usable for that purpose.
Given that melding has been nerfed, the base stats on crafted gear will be much stronger.
Crafted accessories will be released at the same time as new gear
Players will now be able to affix materita to tomestone + raid gear!
No new accessories in 3.1
Don’t worry. We will be adjusting tank damage and stuff to make sure everything is fair! We considered the current status of melded tank gear to be unfair so that’s why we’ve changed the materia melding system.

I don't know. None of the classes call to me. The classes I liked from FFXI suck in FFXIV. PLD is no longer a tank, but a DPS that can take a hit while WARs and DRKs love this meta.

When I play a healer or a tank, I want to heal or tank, I don't want to DPS. Ir's a dumb reason that they won't consider adding Viera just because Miqo't exist. They look very different from Miqo'te and all the races look different enough and have unique animation to be distinguishable from each other.
Also AST is neat indeed, I have more fun playing it than the other healers.

3.1 won't save the game, but if the airship exploration is fun enough that people don't want to kill themselves every second that they spend doing it, it should at least act as a tourniquet to stop the game from hemorrhaging players long enough to carry the game to 3.2.

3.2 will need to be stellar, though. Another barebones progression patch like 2.4 or 3.0 and the game is going to enter a death spiral.

God damn I don't like leveling archer. It feels so unsatisfying. My character draws back on her bow for like 5s, the thing is creaking like it's going to split apart, and then she lets off some little plinking shot that crits for no damage and I have to wait a second and a half to shoot another. Good looking gear, though, I love low-level DoW and the shorter wooden bows.

You can coast for a while on the good will you earn with stuff as good as 2.0 through 2.2, and you can get people to swallow a little bit of shit in the run-up to an expansion, as long as the expansion turns out to be good, but it's pretty hard to keep people's interest/loyalty for much more than a year without giving them something that's actually good, and by the time 3.1 hits it'll have been about 15 months.

As someone who only came in around 2.5 and played through most of it, it felt pretty samey all the way through and I often wonder what the fuck some of you people are on about. It's true that HW didn't feel like much of an expansion, though.

That's because lalafell and roes were from 1.0 where each race had their own model to base gear off and have no clipping etc.

But when ARR came out they had to put resources elsewhere and since then, all gear has been based off of the Hyur.

What you have on is fine. Temple headband or whatever that feather thing is called is one of the best hats in the game. Try some of the lower level DoW stuff like trapper/rainmaker tunic with breeches/kecks and hip boots. Gryphonskin cuirass (not sure if that is the right name) is pretty good too.

Remember the only and best way to play this game is during off number patches. Don't ever start the game on a even numbered patch.

If you start on an odd number you get to experience both the odd and even patch that happened before it having a smooth leveling ilvl goal with difficulty scaling from the easier stuff in the odd to the harder stuff in the even.

But if you start in an even then play an odd you're doing content that is irrelevant and less difficult than stuff you already have done.

So remember, if you're going to quit or start playing.

Play during 2.1/2.3/2.5/3.1/3.3/3.5 etc and not 2.0/2.2/2.4/3.0 otherwise you're going to be bored of the game and not have fun.

If not I'd suggest looking up trusts because you're going to have a hell of a time otherwise. Also look up the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel you get some key items that boost your exp.

I liked how they were actually "cat people" as opposed to Nekomimi, but Miqo'te aren't terrible by any means.

People say Mithra only look good in fan art but it's a PS2 era MMO model.

A3S has been done a lot with minimal healer DPS, and lots of tank DPS.

If tanks have a combined of 1800, that means the DPS only need 4300+ to get past enrage. 1100*3+1000 = 4300, numbers where are fairly average for DPS in A3S.
