more or less you should just keep it on at all times, at least until you're more comfy with stancedance type stuff.

Defiance increases your HP by 25% and healing received from spells by 20% while boosting your enmity modifiers. The only drawback to it is that it nerfs your damage by 20%.

Whenever you use a combo move, you gain stacks of Wrath. When you reach five stacks, you get Infuriated. Certain moves use all five Wrath stacks in lieu of TP, so it makes WAR a good tank in longer fights. For now, you don't have to worry about Defiance as long as you can hold aggro and rotate your defensive cooldowns. Just keep levelling the job, anon, and feel free to come back if you have any further questions down the line.

Leves are always there, FATEs can sometimes be deserted.

Depending on your server and/or zone pop, FATEs can be good or shit.

Personally, all I do is que up for daily dungeon as dps, run leves until que pops and thats pretty much it.

Well I typed out a 2000+ char reply (which was already a summary of my initial intended reply) but I decided you to spare it. Basically ask yourself these questions in this order:

* Is it going to make more money than it takes?
- Are players going to quit if this is not done?
- Are players going to join if this is done?
- Are players going to buy it if we monetise it in mog station?
* Is something else going to make more money so we should work on that instead?
* Is added complexity to the code worth the maintenance burden in long run? Remember that maintenance can cost a lot more than initial implementation.

Only once a feature is a money-maker do you consider if it's feasible to actually implement. This is why I hate muh PS3 limitations meme: yes, I agree, some things are due to PS3 limitations but NO, once PS3 gets dropped, SE isn't going to magically change shit over night. They won't go back and reduce amount of zone boundaries: it makes them no money, and they lose money doing it. In the future however new zones may be larger if it's easier implementation-wise. This is also exactly how ‘impossible extra inventory space’ became ‘hey, we found a way but we'll charge you for it’.

Sorry for this bullshit stuff, hopefully it makes some sense to someone.

Leveling PLD past level 50 is such a chore. You get stuck with low dps and can't do anything about it, and half the time you get healers who don't dps at all for no reason. Why would I bother playing PLD if the healer's not going to dps?

Fates might be quicker at this point.

How come every time you get a melee DPS in expert dungeon they do really low damage (even on bosses/single target) but when you get ranged/caster they usually do good damage?

2) Most /vg/ personalities are lonely and desperate, and even associating with them will most likely get you involved in drama or get your back stabbed
3) The majority of /vg/ servers have nothing to offer beyond the /vg/ population, and you'll often have to deal with them spouting memes and acting like idiots in hunts, shout chat and party finder
4) /vg/ personalities have been known to leak logs of friends they get bored with (see: ippiki skype and steam log leak)
5) Balmung is where the worst of every server congregates. Weekly ERP drama and lonely and pathetic men willing to shit over their friends and talk shit about them (see: the saga of meracle and rylai)
6) /vg/ personalities are known to complain about people they see in dungeons over the general (especially Vjera). Don't want to get called out for everyone to see, keep your head down

Now go and find a nice non-/vg/ server and join a nice and active non-/vg/ free company and enjoy your time with the game.

So endgame tank gear is supposed to be full slaying accs, yes? Is there any point in getting some fending on the side with leftover laws, just in case? I've been going full vit from 1-60 and got burned when I swapped to str at 51, so I'm a bit hesitant on swapping again. I have one relic, I've contemplated making a second but it seems the first stage is going to be easy, and SE said they wouldn't recommend starting from the very beginning again.
I earn my gil without crafting, and at the moment I have the Market Board stocked with my stuff.
I fish, I have everything pre Heavensward, and Heavensward doesn't have big fish so there's not much reason to get the small stuff.
I could level BLM, but I've already leveled a few jobs and it sounds boring.

If your only goal is to consume the latest endgame content, then you will find yourself quickly out of things to do. MMOs are designed for players to pursue those "arbitrary achievements" because no developer can push out new endgame content as fast as players like yourself want them to.

I also hardly find earning money, crafting, and leveling new classes arbitrary. Those are fundamental parts of playing MMOs.

Go to the Pillars. There's a quest chain there that leads you to the Sea of Clouds and the last quest rewards you with the aether current you're most likely missing.

It's kind of baffling to think about. Nobody is expected the world out of them. This strawman argument that nobody will be satisfied because they literally want new content to be out by the time they complete the old content once is total bullshit. People are basically just asking for a game that makes up a coherent whole, without having any massive gaps in content.

And on top of that, this game automatically has a huge leg up on most MMOs in terms of giving longevity to its content, because you can play all classes on one character. If they actually made use of that, instead of giving you one weekly lockout and one weekly currency cap per character, all the content they did make would be stretched out pretty considerably for most people, without feeling like a cheap time-gated ploy.

2.0 was significantly better than 3.0 in terms of its content spectrum, regardless of the extended wait for 2.1. The progression from CM/Prae story dungeons, to the escalating difficulty of WP and AK, to the five different trials of the relic quest, and then finally into Coil which had a good difficulty curve and decent loot tables (once they fixed the overabundance of Dragoon stuff), is much, much better than the clusterfuck that is 3.0's endgame.

2.1 remains to this day the gold standard for content volume/quality in one of FFXIV's major updates.

2.2 was a tiny bit light, but the raid was really good and it at least had multiple Primal fights, on top of getting the last bit of relevancy out of the 2.1 array of Primals as they were prerequisites to the 2.2 ones.
