I assume you didn't actually mean Control Warrior since Patron was never good against that deck in the first place. Patron is kinda sorta alive, though. Not sure whether it's still competitive, but it eats Paladins alive, so it's good enough for me.

I don't know what you're basing that on but my patron deck did better against control warrior than anything else, these guys are ridiculously frustrating now. Right now my best bet is casino mage with crazy portal draws to burn out executes and slams before and getting good effigy procs out of later minions

If i broke down a few shit legendary cards i can finally craft something worthwhile.

I know boom is king and fits in to most decks but im starting to think i should get a class card such as mal'ganis or jaraxus for lock, maybe alex for priest and mage. I want a legendary that will finally make at least one of my decks get past rank 20. Thoughts?

Other leggos require deckbuilding with a LOT of dust and often dual leggos that support eachother, you can't just throw Malganis into a warlock deck and expect it to work

Case in point: I have 4400 dust that I can't use because I can't really make good decks with the crafts yet

I jump around from netdeck to netdeck hoping to find one that'll magically carry me there. Been through secret and midrange pally, face and midrange hunter and tempo mage. Almost finishing aggro druid.

I have the entirety of zoolock. Most people running net zoo have jarax, malganis and boom. Boom will just bump the overall performance of most decks i COULD make. I want to craft a class legendary to make a single deck rise far above the level that boom would bring to all my decks. I just don't believe that boom will save more games than mal ganis.

If we say early 2013 is march then that's 24,200 gold on 100 a day alone, both full adventures only add up to 7000 gold. That's 17200 gold you had to buy packs with. If you couldn't build up a decent collection with that i dont know what to tell you autismo. 172 packs is minimum 6880 dust if you only got rare + 4 common packs for every single one. And this isn't even counting dailies.

I've been playing f2p for two months and have a full mechmage and aggro druid deck and i've only unpacked one legendary that doesn't see any play outside of control warrior.

It's not perfect. There is a lot of things to improve, and this is why this deck is almost not played in constructed.

If you don't draw the right cards you're fucked. While the other decks obviously suffer when they get shitty draws, oil rogue gets hurt more than the others because it's heavy combo dependent.

It also has very shitty draw mechanics that pretty much mandates you to pay 2 cards to draw 4 for 4 mana. And one of these cards is very important to use with other cards too.

Not to mention it has a really fucking hard time removing high health minions. Sap is the only thing that can deal with them and that's just for a one turn. You're pretty much fucked if you opponent has 6 health minions. That's why dragon priest or any dragon deck for that matter completely rapes oil deck.

Kinda gave me enough motivation to become infinite arena player, understanding that deck doesn't matter that much. Also learning to play rogue helped a lot.

Netdecking is boring, most of the popular decks are boring, and making special brews is more entertaining to me but it doesn't really let me grind up ranks, and the only people you see in any rank are people who went to templenorm.org to download the hot T1/T2 decklist and use it to climb their ways to legend while simultaneously referring back to the decklist to understand how to even pilot it.

For some reason, maybe I'm just bad, but druid didn't work well for me on the ladder.
I got to 12 with druid, and after switching to Tempo (after pulling Archmage) I made it to 7.
I'd recommend maybe running a different deck, maybe a "Ladder grind" meta deck. Aka cancer or tempo or zoo.
As for the deck, Power of the Wild and Violet teacher look a bit off. Definitely a second FoN if you can get one. Also an EmpThaur and maybe an Ancient of War if you have one/can craft it. Also maybe even try Fel Reaver aggro druid for grinding out the ladder.

Reminder that there is NO reason not to ONLY play face hunter, aggro druid, or secret ebola paladin.

Incredibly aggressive decks start at 50% win rate because it's only aggressive versus aggressive on the ladder. Then, whenever you fight against a control deck, you automatically win. So, no matter what, you're above a 50% win rate. Enjoy legendary.

went from rank 11-8 last night and today, within the span of 30 minutes, all that work just went down the shitter and now I'm rank 10 again.

holy fuck does this game piss me off so much. I get more angry losing in this game than any other game I've ever played.

it'll sound like bullshit, but legit, not once was I ever actually "outplayed." just every single fucking game, they get the dream mulligan and I mulligan 3 and 4 drops as zoo. even games where I do end up with a decent starting hand, they just always have the wrath or the frostbolt or kj+muster always hits the best possible stuff and my tempo's just gone. I could never even stabilize, and moments where it looked like I finally could, I would be too low life and they would have the finisher sitting in their hands.

how am I supposed to enjoy this game when every single loss feels like complete bullshit

Decks have a certain amount of cards that are staples (around 25) then the rest cards can be filled in order to improve the deck against certains matchups. Those cards such as big game hunter,kezan mistic or healbot are the tech cards.

I suck at this game simple as that.
I hate aggro decks and RNG and only play control style decks (since I play control only in magic).
Playing control punishes you in HS tho.
Since your RNG is near 0 in these type of decks you rarely get huge game winning tempo swings..so yeah I'm stuck at rank 7 because I suck.
Most of the time it like this:
>game starts
>"You're second"
>Dr.Boom; Ysera; Brawl in Hand
>Mulligan away these three
>Shield Maiden; Baron Geddon; Thaurissan in Hand
>"I feel icky"
>My turn; I draw shieldblock
>proceed to lose the game, because I draw my first weapon on turn 5 or can't get good removal before the enym flood his board.

I lose almost instantly in 60% of the games, because my hand is offcurve.
Its a shame.

Anything that is useless in your deck except for a specific situation.

Flare, for example, is a tech card for Face Hunter against Mage/Paladin decks with secrets. But most of the time it's a dead card.

If you notice your current meta/time of day/ladder rank is infested, you swap it in for a while until you stop facing that match-up. It's more common in real TCGs like MtG, because you can sideboard cards in and out during tournaments.

I've seen a lot of " i'm using X deck and can't pass rank 7 (or whatever)" type of posts.

Let me break it for you.

Every tier deck is capable of getting to rank 5 let alone at the end of the season where only the scrubs haven't reached it yet.

Doesn't matter if its oil rogue/secret paladin/echo mage/combo druid, if its a tier deck you can climb to rank 5 with relative ease.

If you can't get to rank 5 at the end of the season it's either:
1- You don't play enough
2- You suck at the deck you are playing

Well it did back in beta when alex cleared armour it was easymode but I mean at least until bash and 6/3 bullshittery freeze mage could at least align the stars and win but now by the time full combo is ready the warrior has another 20 life on top of what he had gvg era

Let's say from 7.

in the 1st week it takes me sometimes around 40 games to get to 5.(if i'm unlucky)

Mid season takes around 20-25 games at max.

Just remember that if you even have something like 47% winrate you can reach rank 5 because of winstreaks.

At this point my advice is to get a deck tracker and track your winrate.

When other classes want to run anti-aggro they have to run stuff like Zombie Chow or Unstable Ghoul, which aren't nearly as efficient, or Deathlord, which can backfire severely.

Why no Justicar?
Justicar doesn't have the tempo that Emperor/Maidens/Sylvanas do. Typically the only matchups I miss Justicar in are slow fatigue matchups like the warrior mirror. I adapt my playstyle to pressure oriented in those matchups to succeed.

Anybody have a deck that they just can't get into? For me it's control warrior.

I like Handlock and Dragon Priest, so it's not that I dislike the control game, but it's something about control warrior that just doesn't sit right with me.

I think it's because I'm a proactive player, those other decks have cards you should be playing like drakes or giants, without waiting for your opponent. CW is an almost entirely reactionary deck.

Control warrior has no problem doing nothing but hero power until the opponent gives them something to kill or it's time to Alex, and it just gets extremely boring for me.

why is it that every single person I go up against has a complete deck and plays so well?

I've hit a wall at rank 10, 90% are wallet warriors, 5% are aggro mage / druid, and the other 5% are dragon priests / midrange decks.

I'm f2p so I don't have many cards so I'm using these decks atm:

I'm topping out at about a 40-50% winrate. I climbed up to rank 7 halfway through the month, but I can't seem to break 10 now.

Even playing casual is bad. It takes me about 2-3 hours to complete my daily quest nowadays, especially if I get warrior because I don't have many cards.

also any time i buff gurubashi i usually swing for 20+. raging worgen does alot of work for me as well. Alot of the time when I win is because people are so focused on killing me that they don't focus on my creatures and i've buffed a few times with mukala or some shit like that

yeah it's pretty agonizing to go to 10-5 as f2p ime; just fuck off to arena for a while and try to approach infinite there if you haven't already
it's possible that ~5 decks might be too many? at least, within your cardpool.
focus on one and try to see what your lines are against wallet warrior; it's entirely probable that you're misplaying fatally. might want to find a list and do a few sample games of CW versus (say) hunter in sim, manually randomizing cards, see what things CW is likely to have or likely to need

They consider dragon priest mid range when it runs no mid game threats. It just plays control through minion combat rather than reacting from the hand. It's still a control deck though. The win condition is to control the board or outlast your opponent.

So it's kinda implied that a control deck is a "reaction" deck (with the ecception of handlock if you want to call it control) just like control mage/control warrior/control priest.

So i think you dont like control decks as the archetype and not only ctrl warrior.

both of those cards actually helped me out alot. but i guess you guys are better players than me. I kinda liked having them because raid leader makes my wimpy guys better and things get further downhill for my opponent when champ drops and my creatures start eating bananas, and grunt helps keep my combo pieces alive longer

This is the draft with the worst average card quality I've ever had since I started recording my runs (62 runs so far). The only reasons I've won are because my opponents have run out of steam way too fast, they've made huge misplays, usually with secrets and because they've overextended for no reason and gotten their board cleared by the sheep.

I had a mage ditch his 4/5 taunt and 2 2/3s into my force-tank max when I had effigy up. Got me a Grom and won me the game. A rogue killed my tank when I had effigy up and got me a Tirion.

Im pretty sure that this means that only freeze mage is a control deck
Even control warrior has to focus on the early and mid game. Bash, Waraxes, and even chow are put into the deck for a reason.
Shit I see control warriors with death lords from time to time. Does that sound like ignoring the early game and focusing only on the late game?

what i did assume wrong?

the mage guy even with slightly bad stats seems good because you can combo with cheap mage spells like arcane missiles and arcane explosion for firebals.

the dragon dude is just a massive body, i havent played this game much but one thing seems certain, the games are decided before turn 9 and only 4 attack doesn't even kill a yeti i'd prefer a stormwind champ over it.

I was playing reincarnate shaman yesterday in casual for some kicks, and I kept getting to reincarnate coined asspirates. Which removes their mana and brings it back so you can remove a second and a third.
