For me, it wasn't. Ocelot pretended to be possessed in order to overthrow the worlds most powerful organization while being sixtuple agent after getting beaten up by BBs son shirtless on top of Outer Haven, and he did all of that not for love. Not just human love, a love you really can't explain, it's the same kind of love the Boss and Big Boss had, which is kinda poetic considering Ocelot was the literal son of the Boss.

Instead, we get this:

Imagine that part 40 times bigger and with Kojima behind you telling "I don't like this, do it this way" for endless times, then "place more enemies","use less foliage, the framerate is falling", "this is too simple, it doesn't look good", what if we try this way?", "this looks good but keep the other design for another area", "this is too distracting", the AI programmers making the rules for the boulder to not let the soldier walk on it and look ridiculous
Do you honestly think you can make that map in something like an hour and 20 minutes? Not to mention we literally see one side of it, think doing this for a map 40 times larger with different zones like the bampeve plantation, the kungenga mines or the oilfield
It's fairly simple to design a generic forest so it would take less time but many places have to be very well designed, you wouldn't think Konami would give KJP a crapload of money to design generic forests for 5 years when they could do a map in a day right?

I saw Skullface at a grocery store in the Bamyan Province yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and speak any words that kill or anything.

When she took one of the cereal boxes and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any linguistical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

There was a cutscene shown in the Motherbase MGSV demo a month before launch. At that point, the game had gone gold, so there's no way it was cut. The cutscene must still be in the game somewhere, but I've not seen it anywhere. It had UAVs in it, so I'm assuming it's FOB related, like the Nuke cutscene.

I actually played the Black Ops 3 beta, and I had to admit it was the most fun I had since MW2. Doesn't mean it's a great game though.

Also, Call of Duty will always be better than MGO solely on the grounds that it fucking has great netcode,servers, and matchmaking.

Not exclusively, but mostly. You should crouch, or possibly even stand on the bridges and shit where there's no chance of being seen to go faster. If somebody has a suspicion of you, just crawl away, they won't alert. You won't get an alert unless you're like 3 meters in front of somebody.
Turn on reflex for if you need go through close quarters. Never use ladders or pipes since you can't reflex then.

Kojima said that was originally the plan, but they decided to have him keep his whole right hand for gameplay and weapons handling's sake.

A fallout happens and Miller stops working with Venom and switches over to Solid.

I suspect Venom is the one who trains Solid, since BB would need to stay hidden, but if he does go back to Foxhound it's because he wanted to train Solid, probably to try and deter The Patriots from using him. Remember, BB did teach Solid CQC incorrectly on purpose.

Also remember one important fact, Miller is a complete fuck up. He even says in a tape he tried for 9 years to start up the PMC but not even former MSF would join because Big Boss wasn't there. His old men in arms told him to fuck off. That's pretty pathetic.

It is confusing, Foxhound is Cipher monitored and Venom is still alive running Outer Heaven. And Venom doesn't even learn of his true identity until the uprising, if the intrude tape is any indication.
So why would the real BB make himself known while the other is still active? Well maybe The Patriots system found out, and BB had to do damage control. Maybe Venom was requested to command Foxhound and, in order to keep Venom occupied BB went to intercept. Or, because BB knew Solid was a new recruit, went to train him personally. And lastly it could be that Venom was the Foxhound commander.
You also have the problem of the Mercenary War starting in the early 1990s which BB was most likely involved in considering Zanzibar's army consisted of 100 of each nationality around the world.

If the MGS1 novel was translated, we would probably know for sure because there is a flashback chapter with Solid remembering MG1 and MG2 in his cabin.

As shit as it would be for the Solid/BB relationship, it makes more sense for Venom to be the public face of BB in FOXHOUND while the real one was in hiding building up Zanzibar Land the whole time. Finally became aware that OSP actually clears support weapons, going against my (unchecked) claim that it only affected the main weapons (was lulled into false sense of security by the items not being cleared, and lack of testing heh).
New OSP mode added - Tertiary free (though disallowed in subsistence pure), clears primary and secondary on mission, leaves your chosen tertiaray weapon free.
Start on foot - Skip helicopter ride into missions/free mode.
Menu translations - have a translation system for the menu, but no current actual translations, see below for more info.
Unlock player avatar - without having to complete mission 46
Clock timescale - adjust day/weather clock, simulation clock unaffected.

I think the biggest kick in the balls this game delivered was that the trailers painted a picture of a game we never received. The trailers promised Big Boss's descent into madness/villainy, and although most of us guessed venom snake wasnt Big Boss (with some people even figuring out he was the medic on board morpho not long after Ground Zeroes came out), no one was expecting not to play as him at all. But what galls me the most was the end of the Elegia trailer from this years E3, which shows two identical twins and the voice over from snake saying "Les enfants terrible, Zero called it", leading us to think we'd see both Eli (liquid) and David (solid) in the game. Not only that, but for a game that touted itself as the missing link in themetal gear saga, it fell woefully short of that claim, again, we never saw Big Boss founding of Outer Heaven, his use of child soldiers (the child soldiers in the game serve virtually no purpose), his founding of Foxhound, and various other missing links, like Frank Yeager, Solidus and Jack the ripper (Raiden), none of which were promised sure, but seeing as it was the final game, and it was set in Africa during the 80's it felt like a no brainer to me. Which is why claims that the game would be great if they had put in the final mission 51 ring hollow, as it's just another reheat of the Sahelanthropus fight, and doesnt address the various threads the saga has woven up to this point. Many wil point to the tapes, but do a few voiceovers here and there really fix a story that fell so short?

I suppose it boils down the the increasing attitude of "story doesnt matter", and the various mental gymnastics fans go through to justify their love for a series, even when it loses it's way. I mean there are people right now defending Halo 5's microtransactions after trashing games like Evolve and Payday 2. The lies we tell ourselves, as deep as we bury the truth in the backs of our minds, it always claws its way back out.

I would have accepted a bare bones story that just existed to give BB context for going on missions in Afghanistan/Africa more than what MGSV ended up having. Cause the lack of dialogue from VS was clearly cause Kojima didn't want to develop his character too much since he might even overshadow BB. Because of this all we got were a few memorable lines and nothing else. There's no banter between VS and Kaz or Ocelot, there's no real feeling of camaraderie/closeness. They reduced the cutscenes and then they doubled down with the shitty amount of tapes that were supposed to be where the real development happens.

How often can your FOB get invaded by a single person?

I have this autist invading me at least twice a day, sometimes three, and leaving no traces for me to retaliate. The cocksucker started this shit by stealing several high S ranked soldiers and after a couple of failed retaliations (w/ no traces thus no retaliation opportunities) I managed to take my staff back plus capture some of his, even after leaving one soldier dead and being spotted.

TL;DR: Autist takes my shit, I not-so-stealthily take it back. He keeps retaliating almost daily. How?

It was a shit move on BB's behalf, but Kaz was busted selling BB out to Cipher and manipulating his feelings for The Boss to get him to take the job. If BB didn't want to fully trust him after losing nine years of his life it's a sort of understandable. They're both dicks, they probably could have worked it out.

Depends on your platform. Consoles have MGO so the invasions have decreased drastically.
The most important is to not get greedy and pay for the highest security.
Set for long range on platforms with 3 or 4 struts, short range otherwise.

To be honest, V has the best gameplay BY FAR.

Even with all the grinding and "cut content" and "repetitive", it's miles better than the others.

Replaying the others, while still good, feels very stiff and dated.

If they shortened the roads a bit. and used the empty space to make the outposts and bases bigger and badder. you know what i mean?

like, max 5 mins of driving time around a map before you run in into another outpost. i like Ground Zeroes, but i wanted a lil' bit of safe freedom. driving around and shit. the maps being 80% base would have made going to MB a lot more satisfying, since MB is a safe haven and all.

i also wish the maps had more complex design. the whole world just feels.. flat, you know?

Me too. There are good highs in MGS V, but nothing that comes close to the GZ level. It felt like a real damn camp and wish MGS V had just multiple levels, no open world bs, just multiple levels, large ones, with multiple ways to go on about them.

So much replay value in one level is sick as fuck design.

Now I want to replay it yet again.

I dont think anything in MGS V came close to its scale and design intricacies. Really hoped the mission to infiltrate to your own Motherbase would have been something like it but nope

While on the story it's very hard to say and MG1 is literally "bad guy has nuclear weapon, turns out your boss is actually the bad guy, destroy everything and run away" and MG2 is almost the same so I'd say that clichèd story not originally intended for a much bigger picture in the MGS saga can't be better than 4
I can't honestly tell which story is better because you have to consider the writing, how the story goes on, how well pieces fit (like mgs4) and the messages to the player that every game gives

The whole of GZ felt great overall. I could just analyze why the "Rescue Paz mission" just WORKS.

Also:

The best part about GZ is making it out to the camp, and flying out with Morpho. You don't get the same feeling of this in TPP because there's so many empty space for you to be "safe" in. In GZ, having a safe space felt magical as fuck.

The gameplay differences with interface, animations, technical polish not being perfect just like the draw distance shows and the fact that they had to release it much earlier doesn't change the fact that GZ is TPP's first mission released separately
I wonder how it would have turned out with medic's twist if GZ was a mission inside TPP itself
Maybe Kojimbo would have taken extra precautions or wouldn't have come up with the twist at all because it would be too hard to execute

I never played 5 as open world free roam. I deployed, completed objectives and extracted out. Managed to put in 200 hours so far and iIve never been disappointed by that aspect, it simply tells me that the game takes place in these regions and adds a sense of unity to all the areas.

Maybe, but they actually create more substantial content than anyone here ever does. They've actually got comments full of follow up and additional shit, they actually work together instead of telling each other to kill themselves all day.
