In several hours of searching in 2 evenings i've managed to find 2 skeletal stegos, a skeletal trike, and a skeletal alpha raptor. The raptor was the only one that didn't give a skin.

We noticed that still noone really gives a shit about our server though - me and my bro are still pretty much the only ones playing on it.

I think it's just that most players already have bases and have invested time on other servers. That and new players will probably go to the higher rate servers to get a feel for the game and because they are scrubs.

It start to feel like a chore after awhile. After getting wiped out on an official, I just jumped on a super boosted server and never looked back. Being able to get shit done at a fraction of the time required rekindled my interest for the game.

My problem is that the endgame is pretty much just iddling in the base, or raiding for no rewards what so ever. it gets dull real quick

Yea, that's what led to me not wanting to do anything. Even if I wanted to raid, grinding ammo is a chore and other games have better gunplay. If I want politics and social interaction I can get it in games that don't require so much time for things to develop, so it actually feels like a game and not a second life. Using the dinosaurs is so one dimensional I can't even autistically pretend I'm enjoying using one of them.

The game was great for awhile but I look back and don't really want to do any of it again. Maybe that's what sotf is for.

Well for the Stone Behemoth gate you can not carry the amount of materials needed to make it.
It's 750 stone, wood and thatch.
That's 600 weight.
Meaning you need at least 400weight to make it.

if it's 600 weight you only need 300 weight total, as you're limited to double your carry weight. If youre building shit you can afford to stow away whatever crap you have on your person onto your dino pet or a storage box.

alphas aren't part of the event, alphas have always been a thing, and the can break through stone as well so nobody except those with metal bases are truly safe.
Stop wasting your time on quantity and go for quality tames. You shouldn't even be taming anything you plan to keep until you have a secure base you can work from.

My suggestion? Build a raft ASAP and use that as your main base until you have the resources to make at least a 3x3 stone base, float around the coast raiding newbies that refuse to leave the beach if you have to. As soon as you're level 15 and have learned Tranq. Arrows and the Bow, you can start taming more dinos, get an Argentavis or Pteranodon ASAP, trade for a saddle if you can't make one yet, and go around collecting supply drops and killing Argentavis for metal tools, it's a million times faster than waiting for metal, supply drops will give you much needed blueprints and free structures and saddles, and Argentavis are very good exp for how easy they are to kill (few headshots with a bow should do the trick.)

Once you have an argentavis or pteranodon you can easily kill alphas by exploiting the fact that you're airborne and faster, even Alpha Rexes. Avoid Alpha Carnos as much as possible because you will get stuck and you will get killed. If you have to fight one and you do get stuck, keep flying forward and down while attacking and you may work your way free, same applies to Alpha Rexes.

Living in a cave is a bad idea, not only are you blocking spawns but you have a x4 structure modifier and anyone with a pike can fuck your shit up. x8 if you live in a sea cave.

Just wanted to tac on a previous similar wipe. This game really helps you learn to let go. Earlier me and a buddy put two trices, two ankylos, and two raptors on a raft platform to sail away. We hit the ocean barrier shoving two trices and an ankylos off. We watched them kick until they couldn't hold their heads up out of the water. We gained more meat for the campfire that day.
