I find that it comes in two forms:
1) Characters all talk and behave the exact same way.
2) Characters who exist solely in emotional/mental extremes or are one dimensional. See: motherly mothers, asshole fathers, "strong" female protagonists, weak female sidekicks, apparently omniscient founts of (questionable) wisdom, damsels in distress (almost always a gardevoir/lucario), antagonists who somehow make it through day to day life despite being purely defined entirely by their puppy kicking interests, and so on.

Like for what I was reading it was Ash after realizing he really should visit latias after so long then immediately going completely robotic. Completely plain and stiff dialouge, non sensible actions like buying two tickets to alto mare, and just seeming like a pile of actions rather then a character.

All of yesterday's free time was invested in one of the many projects that have been of higher priority than writing fun fiction. Preliminary results are encouraging and quite nearly satisfying, and I will have more time today and tomorrow to play, so likely the project will soon begin. Anonymous
