>>2765081>if you want to be a little elitist prick. You honestly think that's what it's all about, don't you? When you see people playing soccer or basketball do you just assume all those people want to be elitist pricks? Because I can tell you, most of them just think the game is fun and enjoy playing it.
I don't play fighters out of elitism, I play them because it's an incredibly fun genre. One that you can pick up and learn the basics of in an afternoon but continue to master for years. It has thinking on your feet, varied strategies and fast paced gameplay. Those all all things that I really like about them.
>Might as well play some modern shit with actual competition if you want to be a little elitist prick. Also as for this, fighters are one of the genres that have remained the most true to their old arcade roots. As pointed out, the most popular King of Fighters that people play is literally an updated version of the 1998 game and Street Fighter IV is mechanically very, very similar to older games in the series.
Point being, the competition in the older games is very similar to the newer ones. You can play SFIITurbo today online and have good competition, you can play SFIV today online ans also have good competition. But also I do play modern games. I don't only play old games, I play games from all eras.
And again, it's perfectly 100% fine to think fighters are a waste of time. It's just weird you are wasting so much time complaining about not liking them. I'm sure you like some games that I don't. That's cool in my books.
