yo, /vr/. I'm a complete noob with MAME, I'm trying to get it to work. Some games work just fine, but then randomly some don't, for example Killer Instinct, and Wizard Fire (Dark Seal II). I get an error saying that I'm missing ROM or CHD images, but I have gotten everything applicable, or at least I think so. Can anyone hook me up with some advice, or failing that, the best place to look for some info? I've been looking for ages and just can't find anything.

That is, why do the NES version feel superior to this terribly tinny "upgrades"?

Will I be able to play with my dad who has V 1.16.1 after I download it?

Im thinking of buying this computer for starcraft brood war so I can play this with my dad again. Now, I assume this computer is good enough to run starcraft? This is what Blizzard told me


1st – Buy the game

2nd – Once you have the game bought either from us or the store you will need to download the game. To download the game go here and find starcraft. Once you see it click on the game its self and then the page will refresh and you can download the game then(Leave this page open for you will need it for step 3)-- > https://us.battle.net/account/management/

3rd – Now the game should be downloaded now and the page for step 2 should still be open. Go ahead and right click the Starcraft 2 install and select run as administrator. Now the game will ask for a CD key and that can be found on the page from step 2 as you can copy and paste that key. ****ONCE IT IS DONE INSTALLING TO NOT START THE GAME AS WE NEED TO PATCH****

4th – Okay so the game is installed and we need the patch – Go here and from the dropdown select starcraft and we will download the patch and make sure to right click the patch and run as administrator and let it patch for you. (This is just incase the color and screen looks weird) 5th – Now the game should be installed and ready to go now. Now make sure you run the game in windowed mode to make sure the game works fine for again the game is very old and modern video resolution wasn’t even a dream back then so you might want to be at 1080 by 760 or lower to ensure the colors and screen looks right.

Got this Game Gear for free but there was no sound and anything on the screen (a common problem) I go to a retro computer club and someone was able to help me replace all the capacitors. The caps that needed replacing was the audio and power boards but we replaced them all anyway. Bought Sonic, Jurassic Park, and Tom & Jerry games to try it out. Not really liking it, the resolution is atrocious and buttons feel dull. Probably will sell when the batteries die but it felt good to bring it back to life.
