I can't remember if they were available in D2.
I think there were ones which made you do less damage, ones which would lower attributes, etc.
It's not too much to fret over since they aren't cursed and locked onto your body like in Baldur's Gate, but it can be pretty damn insulting if you defeat a boss and what they drop is this.

I liked a lot of it's features, such as being able to store items (I really love all the interesting unique items in Diablo, so being able to actually collect and store them has lots of appeal to me), it changes a lot of things, some which I don't like, for instance it adds items which use Diablo 2 sprites, which clash terribly with the graphics.
Also, there's that whole -50% ranged damage effect on items, which is pretty much mandatory to have (the author even says this), and it's common enough on a whole lot of magical items, but it seems there'd be a much better way to do this.
