>>2747353no it's not, it's 100% new parts, they're not sacking original hardware to build this
I played it this weekend. It looks great, doesn't lag, and has tons of customization options (adjusting exp. audio volume, changing the aspect ratio on the fly, in increments rather than static settings, scanline adjustment, built in game genie, etc.). you can even expand the capabilities of the CPU to reduce flicker and slowdown (although this cannot be toggled on the fly, you have to restart the game, and it obviously makes it not accurate to the real hardware)
FPGA isn't emulation or SOAC, it's basically mimicking the behavior of the original Ricoh 2A03 used in the Famicom/NES.
>>2747360see above, it's all new parts, they are NOT sacking consoles (they explained this to me at the booth)
again, they are not using the original CPU or PPU, they are replicating the behavior using FPGA.
this is a (decent) explanation of what FPGA is and how it works:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8POZhFHxBLs>>2747378it already works, the beta testers have been using it
>>2747408yes
>>2747427I was there and I played it, see above
>>2747475I have, it's all new parts.
>>2747793>>2747820no, you're both completely wrong. it's FPGA-based and completely new parts. I saw it in person and played it. The PCB is completely new design from RetroUSB/Bunnyboy, he's been working on this thing for years. You can see the prototypes on NintendoAge forums (I'm too lazy to find the link, go google it)
>>2747943again, they aren't destroying shit, all of the parts are new and they aren't sacking original consoles for chips because it uses a FPGA. jesus christ, it's right on his fucking website LOL
and yes it has game genie and PAR support built in. I think the guy at the booth said PAR but maybe I misheard. Absolutely has Game Genie cause I used it.
