Not quite of OP meant, but Ashley Wincheter's love interest was an NPC and remained one for the entirety of the game. I think that was interestingly handled and something that doesn't happen too often when there is a love story/relationship.

You could make a bit of a case for Agrias and Meliadoul.

But Rafa absolutely was intended to be his love interest. Then Japan realized that darkies are bad and cut it out.

But really, his true love interest is Alma

The PSP port specifically shoots that down by pairing Agrias and Mustadio.

Whether that's canon as it may or not be approved by the original game's writer.

But in any case, Ramza is an idealist revolutionary with no need for bitches.

90% of the time the love interest is just the first girl to join your party and is basically an afterthought.
