Hey /vr/ wanted to have a Nosferatu thread.
Thematically comparable to the Castlevania series and aesthetically and gameplay-wise comparable to the older Prince of Persia titles, this one still stood out to me.
Maybe it has to do with the scenario and main character, whose girlfriend LITERALLY has a vampire steal her away, and what does he do? Immediately jump on a horse with only the clothes on his back to beat the shit out of zombies, werewolves, apes, and a goddamn vampire lord with his bare hands.
Gameplay is obviously going to be compared to Prince of Persia, but seemed a bit more focused on platforming, exploring and combat (In my opinion). I didn't see it as trying to steal Castlevania's vibe, there's something really interesting and cool about the realistic and dark environments, the black silhouette of the castle in the background of the rock golem fight is a beautiful backdrop, for example.
But the levels themselves seem a little shoddy. The moody music for the most part helps it all, a couple annoying tracks to speak of. Overall it seems like an average game but still managed to stand out to me and make me appreciate it some.
From what I heard it's also the most delayed game for the SNES.
