I'm with you. I also hate 1 frame of text at the beginning of webms. And webms that doesn't crop out black bars. It doesn't even take that much effort to do these kind of editing, really.

static blackness doesn't require much bitrate and as such doesn't affect the size very much. It's barely relevant to file size unless you are cutting it VERY close.
