Compare modern rap music to "Mountain Dew". Both are about their home country ("the hood" or Ireland) and an illegal substance being produced, even mentioning giving the cops the slip.
Now you can talk about the quality of rap being poor, certainly true, but it at least shows you humanity ain't all that different, at least.
