This idea of cosmic deities can go far, for instance it's believed that Planets are not just matter collected by gravity, not just a place for us to inhabit, but are conscious entities themselves with their own emotions and physical processes for death, rebirth, healing and sickness.
They are said to sing, or speak to one another and ourselves through resonance and electromagnetic vibrations which are measurable and you can listen to them here:
https://youtu.be/-MmWeZHsQzs?t=46sThey worship (revolve around) the Sun their father as a family unit pays homage to the father. Things like "Zeitgeist" and the work of certain researchers have declared all religions and philosophies in humanity to be echoes of sun worship, not something I really subscribe to, but interesting to think about considering the clues that are left around with symbology.
There are matriarchal societies, sure, but the majority of human civilization has followed this blueprint in society, that progeny is a result of a father whose children will rotate around him or be directly influenced by his presence (or absence). Without the Sun, the planets, and we, would die.
Who then gives birth to the stars? Even greater fathers.
Our planet, Earth, is said to be a female, her patience is nearly infinite, as is her capacity for pain and sorrow. While many planets would have simply wiped humans off long ago and declared them a cancer, she suffers us as a good mother suffers her children, even if we are at risk of killing her. Keep in mind though, her patience is "nearly" infinite, that doesn't mean she is immortal as far as we know. The corpse of planets like Mars stand as a stark reminder of what awaits us if we allow the parasitic host which inhabits our species to drive us to murder yet another parent.
