I would say that you did a great job, to be honest. I've grown up with them for years now. The older one I first realized in about 2002, and the younger one between 2003-2005. They're complicated, multifaceted, and secretive. I've known better than to try to tease it out myself, but I don't know people personally who are diviners. In sort of a desperate move I saw a palmist and tarot reader once who... I would say freaked out about them would be a good way to put it. I did not even bring them up.

A word on spirits.

Spirits that attach themselves to you often have their own reasons for doing so. It's not that they care for you because you're you, but because of a mutually beneficial relationship. That's not to say they can't come to care for you later.
HOWEVER, and i must emphasize this, spirits/entities/etc. that are attached to you from the will of another are following the will of another, one that is neither their own nor yours. Due to the very nature of free will in concerns to magic, i would almost always try to remove such influences as you have no way of telling the intention.

So, to specify this rule of thumb to your general situation, i would try to figure out how these spirits came to you, and go from there.

There are also spirits who, of course, form a parasitic rather than symbiotic bond with you.

These, of course, should be dispelled almost immediately due to their very nature.

Learn to ask the right questions. It's fundamental for dealing with people, and arguably more so for dealing with spirits.
Since the answers they give you aren't direct, you must learn to understand the meaning behind the words, to read between the lines, etc.

Above all, learn to trust your gut. I've known people who have known one thing for all their lives, only for their gut to tell them another later.
They convince themselves that they're wrong, because why wouldn't they be?

The mind is cold, the heart is stupid.
But the mind is powerful, and the heart makes you powerful. Learn to balance the two, and utilize both in your investigations.

(Although technically the gut feeling is a stomach thing. So i guess i mean emotions rather than heart. Details details...)

I'll relate the events that lead me to realize I had mind.

2002, I fell and knocked the wind out of myself. I was really young and I thought I was dying. A very clear, calm voice told me (roughly) "don't be stupid, you're not dying. Just do what you need to do" It was this really dark feeling, foreign, but not threatning. Called "her" Dark for goodness knows how long. Call her something else now.

The other one, somewhere 2003-2005, I don't really recall the moment exactly, it was more like an unfolding awareness of something very, very foriegn in my mind. I am very gender-confused, and especially as a child I leaned really far male, but this was a distinctly female, feminine, "cute" sort of thing in my mind. It scared and disgusted me (revulsion really) for a long time and I talked about "Dark" to many more people and would admit that she would exist many times over before I would talk about this younger one.

Well my gut says that the older one is inherently dark/evil/unholy/whatever but doesn't wish me ill at all. The younger one seems nice enough but my gut has always felt like that's the really scary/repulsive one (though she's never done anything remotely objectionable).

I remember the last time I tried to ask the older one where she came from and she was just like "the devil" in sort of a joking/sarcastic way. I wasn't quite convinced that it was a joke, but at the same time, I really don't feel like she wishs me ill at all.

What is dark or bad about something that wishes you no harm?

And the first reaction to the light spirit was that it was representing your feminine side, which would naturally seem repulsive to a gender confused child leaning towards the masculine.

You must first survive, and that is dark.
Then you must accept and fulfill your role. That is light.
Of course, this is just after 30 seconds of mulling it over, i very likely missed something. But it might give you a leaping off point from a psych perspective.

Don't know if I am understand correctly however I used to have something similar to what you said. I don't know if I still have it though.

Most of my life I had what I am going to call a voice in my head. This voice was a really objective one, and extremely wise.

It didn't talked to me unless I asked him. However his advice was extremely wise. Usually nag me about my philosophy of life. Teaching me how to be a better person with other people.

I don't know if it was paranormal or just my subconcios, whatever the case I am glad it came to my life.

I would say that they're two different experiences, as when I was younger I would experience (from the older one) something that I imagine was what possession is like. Not possession exactly but... it's hard to explain.

I'm glad it was a positive experience for you.

In some of those post-"posession" situations (I don't really know what else to call them, but I feel posession isn't exactly the right word) I would be very confused, scared, etc. I would often be in very big trouble.

In all seriousness, there are various techniques for communication with spooky things, but the one you're seeing here most often is scrying.

The other day, I showed a fedora friend of mine some predictions that came true and provided proof, and he was just dumbfounded and kept repeating "what the fuck" like he had just witnessed the laws of science being broken. I just smiled and told him this is pretty quotidian to me.

I would say that classic posession is when an entity takes control of your body and does what it will.

And I mean, it would be true to say that's what I experienced. It was almost as if I were standing beside myself or looking over my own shoulder. I (my body) would do things and I wouldn't know why or be able to stop myself.

The reason I wouldn't really consider it classic posession is just because, even though the aftermath of the incident was very negative, I also sort of allowed it? Even encouraged it? I hated my life. Even in about 2004-2005 I thought about suicide. I spent most of my life in very detailed and intense daydream.

As I got older and spent less time daydreaming and was better able to cope with my life, these things happened less and less without my explicit permission.

If I wanted, right now, I could probably "step back" and let them do whatever. But it makes me self conscious/scared so I just don't. In high school I thought it was sort of cool to do, but now I worry that if they need to be gotten rid of, then the more I do it, the harder it will be to get rid of them.

A lot of the time I just hope it's just a psychiatric thing and that it'll go away. No such luck yet

Have you ask any readers about this case? Keep in mind it doesn't necessarily have to be paranormal.

I have experienced some forms of detachment from my body. The strongest one was extremely bad. My head was really clouded and I started to see everything like in a third person form of view.

It wasn't a good experience at all, However I wouldn't call it possession. I don't know how to call it to be honest.

Hmm... Well, pathetic means something to take pity on. Something that is vulnerable or sad.

A thief is obviously someone who steals.

And to rant is to speak loud and long about a topic you're passionate about.

It's certainly not for everyone. It requires an adventurous spirit, even after you get started. In the beginning, you will still question whether your efforts are actually successful or if it's just confirmation bias. There is also some tendency towards autotelic endeavors that should be inherent in the person.

I'm not terribly fond of rituals, myself. Most of what I do falls into low magic, and I've never dipped into anything ceremonial at all. I went into my background in this post:

Some of the ritual magic interests me, but I'm more focused on my own research and projects. It might be a residual tendency from my academic background, but I am not terribly interested in replicating the work of others unless I feel it would add to my own work.

I slowed down when I was in grad school due to time constraints, but I got a lot more into it after that. Nowadays, I would say I'm balls-deep in, and I do something occult-related every day. All of my recent experiments have been wildly successful, and I'm sort of trying to figure out the next big thing for me right now.

Ah, yes, there should be some exercises you can do to improve your energy sensitivity. Off the top of my head, I would recommend basic energy manipulation, or even just studying your own energy.

There are a number of exercises I can think of for improving intution, and I've considered writing a short guide of exercises. An easy one is going to a Chinese food restaurant with someone else and seeing if you can tell which fortune cookie best fits whom. It's very basic sortilege, but it's fairly easy to confirm results. Anything with sortilege will help, actually. Feel your options and see which one feels different than the others. Intuition is actually somewhat similar to instinct, in that it is something that happens unconsciously, and it comes up the more you shut off your conscious mind.

Another one I used to do was timing my posts on 4chan to see if I could get dubs, trips, split dubs, etc. Basically, I would write out the post on my phone, then just wait until it felt like the right time. I found the speed of /adv/ to be most conducive to the exercise, personally, and there are plenty of troll and shitposting threads, so I didn't have to worry about harming the quality of the board.

Either way, you might want to start with meditation and see where that takes you. Whether you dive right in after that or just stay at meditation, you'll find some benefit to the practice.

Hah, connecting with others is a little hard at the moment.

I've recently moved to a foreign country to work, and I don't really speak the local language yet - meaning that I can hardly communicate even if I wish to. And of course, homesickness makes me blue and brings about all sorts of feelings, but that's something I'd rather not share with the few people I can talk to every day. I don't like sharing pain.

Like, currently my near future is kind of undetermined in it's nature, I'm looking to probably going to manage to get a job regardless of my luck in the next tear or so, regarless of my luck which I guess is average.

But if I was really lucky there is this one job which would really rock that is a possibility but not guaranteed, at an internet café. Which would be a nice place to work at.

Our meeting went well. There was nothing to indicate an imbalance of power, at least none of the usual warning signs. And if anything, I'm worried that I look like I'm not taking the issue seriously because of my reservations.

I dunno...the way I see it it looks like the spread is talking about a trade off. Opportunities and things of the past will be sacrificed for connections and status within a current that, while somewhat narrow and torrential, will take me somewhere. Where, exactly, though I don't know.

For example, when looking at the human body, as you look at features that are more upward, they become more dependent on others. My vision seems to be following a man. He did not stand out too much to my eyes, and there was indeed nothing that could have made him stand out from others in the crowd. Hope is always there. And this man, it seems, simply cannot look up on it anymore. Walking through people, he ignores all around him. Too much in his mind, too much in his thoughts, but yet it almost seems like even that is not in his mind anymore. Simply walking through life, ignoring all...
