>>16881443Anothet anon already touched on this, but if you are traipsing through the mountains, it's the locals that you have to worry about the most. If you have the misfortune of making contact keep a few things in mind.
1. These folks have lived there for hundreds of years. It's their mountain. They don't really want you to visit.
2. Be respectful. This should go without saying, but don't be an asshole. Even if you don't see anyone, you more than likely will be watched from a distance because, like anybody, the mountain folk want to know who is hanging out on their property. Don't leave trash. Don't be that camper who magdumps drunkenly into the air. DON'T FUCK WITH THE WILDLIFE.
3. If they choose to make contact with you, you have fucked up already. They are not going to talk to you unless you caught their attention in a negative manner. "Yessir", "Nossir", "I do apologize sir" should be the entirety of your vocabulary while addressing the mountain folk.
4. This is important. If one of them calls you Jasper, you are not getting off the mountain alive. It was your fault anyways, if it comes to that.
Most of the tall tales of spoopy shit in Appalachia are not paranormal. They originate from the actions of the people who live on those mountains. Tread lightly, OP.
