Do you believe in the powers behind the veil of presidents and politics? Do you believe there is any difference voting for this or that candidate? Are we living in a layer of reality where politics is just a smoke curtain for the larger part of the humanity to believe they have any sort of power? Are we already 100% under control of Wall Street, Rockfellers, Rothschilds and other hidden powers?

What you're experiencing is a natural rejection to your lack of control. Your life is dictated by the forces of society. So you may want knowledge or power but the entire system is the populace of your country (or the world in some regards) keeping the machine humming.

It takes a lot of random chance and hard work to rise above it. Either alone is not enough. But beyond political parties there is no hidden cabal of thinkers and brokers twisting humanity. We just take the path of least resistance.
