OP, have you ever stopped to wonder why you need proof so badly?
The human mind finds safety in its own identity. The ego, if you like. The ego is a defence mechanism which begins to be constructed in early childhood to protect the emerging sense of self from events which might otherwise overwhelm it and threaten its existence.
In later life our beliefs about how the world works are intimately entangled with the ego defence and may not easily be changed. When we encounter something other than our own worldview we may experience fear and resistance. After all, our beliefs are a part of what has kept us safe.
OP, your need for proof is a cry for help from your own defence mechanism. Your ego, your safety and survival, is threatened by the thought of something paranormal actually being real. But at the same time, you are here. Something inside you drew you to this place, where experiences, advice, and support are freely shared. You don't need proof. You need to listen to the part of you that has an interest in being here. And gently tell the other part of you that is freaked out and trying to protect you that it's OK to pause for just a moment.
Take one aspect of x/ that interests you and consider, just for a moment, that it could be real, and that those of us who are talking about it are telling the truth and aren't deluded. You won't immediately turn into a flake, or lose your objectivity, or join a cult. Try it, see how it feels.
