What do the magicians of /x/ think of using some kind of ritual to bring someone back from the dead? No RP, whether you think it's legitimately dangerous for paranormal or psychological reasons I want your input.

Literal death?

Unlikely, but who knows for sure. Some people were said to have brought others back to life, and people have jumped back to life by themselves on the coronor's table.

There's an older story arc in HellBlazer where Constantine gets kidnapped by a gangster who's son has died. ( I think it's an Ennis story, not sure though ) Gangster has heard Constantine is a powerful Mage and demands Constantine bring the kid back to life or get shot in the head. Constantine does what he does best, he lies. Says, "Sure, I just need this and that and this, and give me an hour with the body." Once alone with the corpse Constantine conjures up a vile -penis- demon! Has it inhabit the corpse.

Constantine calls in the gangster and his henchman, points to the corpse which is slowly moving and gurgling a bit, tells them, "It'll be a few hours more before he's back to normal." Constantine makes an exit. Gangster and pals stand around for a while, fuckin' demon pops out and fucks them all to death.

This is why the "Constantine" TV show failed, there's no way they could follow the graphic novels faithfully. What they were left with was just the Constantine name and some of the imagery and weak ass TV gibberish scripts.

Could be done if the person was recently dead and there was any possibility of people mistaking it for a bad judgement like someone waking up in the morgue.

If the person was long since dead it can't be allowed.

Theoretically, with the proper aspects of the elements being channeled, one can indeed bring life back to something or someone. However, when doing so, you need a sufficient vessel for them to inhabit and become alive in.

Such skills with the elements would take several lifetimes to master, though.

The ritual would more or less take one channelling the magnetic aspect of water to draw the soul back into a vessel and bind it there.

There is a way.
You can summon a groups of demons to inhabit a ring inscribed with their names.
You put the ring on the finger of the dead individual and they will be possessed by the demons, the body will do what you say for two weeks only.
After the two weeks the demons will leave the body and return to the ring.
