I sat in a quiet, darkened room on my own one time on acid, just listening. I could 'hear' this sound; like your 'mind's eye', this must have been my 'mind's ear'. It was crystalline, rich, expansive, like a mixture of chorus voices and strings drenched in huge reverb. No detail could be made out, it was one shimmering, shifting, yet constant wall of sound, if I can borrow the expression. Incredibly beautiful, and impossible to describe accurately. Despite my attempt at description, there is nothing on earth that sounds like it.
I guess that is what they call the 'music of the spheres though I never looked into where this phrase comes from.
