What does /x/ think about Leary's 8-circuit model for mapping consciousness? I've been reading pic related and I've surprisingly liked what I've read so far.

What are other decent consciousness maps? Which is more accepted today?

Something about the map not being the territory...

I think if you want another map you could take a look at Israel Regardie's Garden Of Pomegranates. The Tree of Life is a map for a crazy amount of things, psychic make up, the layers of reality, archetypes, etc.

Be floor installer. Be rippin out carpet in childhood friends basement. Tryin to find the fuckin quarter for months. Leary does decent but Wilson does it better.

Would have liked to read the thesis that the mass market paperback was based on.

Cognitive psych doesn't do it for me, but I think if anyone came close, it was RAW.

I have never actively walked to find the quarter, but have concluded that random quarters i would find would be significantly important to the exercise. It doesn't cross my mind on a regular basis.

I learned about 8 Circuit Theory in 2010 but didn't read PromRi until this past June

Many of the experiements in the book, I did variations of on my own. They are natural developments if you spend time thinking about the world through the 8circ lens.

The quarter exercise, I did with jewelry and "valuables".

>find a lot of cheap earrings and bracelets and such around my college campus
>whatever, it is a women's college, bitches be losing their slut sparklies all the time
>I'm finding a LOT though and even starting to find the second earring to match one I'd found days or weeks prior
>start to wonder if I am somehow drawing these to me?
>find a $20 bill stuck in a bush
>find one of the Chinese transfer student's creepy mini laptop things
>find a handmade, artisan signed, 24k gold swan earring

I think the first 5 levels of Leary's 8-circuit are fascinating to lay over media. Radio channels, tv shows, music, books and films can mostly fit into the 1) cuddly.new age; 2) territorial, sports, war; 3) logical, geek; or 4) social/sexual partyheads. A few circuit 5 films exist—2001, Under the Skin, Tree of Life, Baraka, etc.
