You come into possession of a Necronomicon type of book.
You admire the book for the creepy factor, the aesthetic, and history of it.
You test some of the things in the book and realize supernaturalism is real. You can inflict minor cut wounds on people who complain about the wounds the next day. You can give people debilitating sicknesses. You can cause lightening strikes within a general area within a week or so.
You also realize that animals are becoming hostile towards you. You're finding bugs in odd places. You keep seeing a shadow in the corner of your eye that always disappears. You're starting to have enough.
