So we're going to make a 2D game in 7 days time. Because I really really want to. I need it.
Why 2D? Because some paranormies might not have a gaming PC, or they might want to play on a mobile device. Also, not everyone is into First Person Shooters. Again, as you can see in the Youtube linked above, I made a 3D FPS style game in 3 days, so a 2D game in 7 days should be no problem. Luckily, I have lots of experience with 2D already as well.

First thing's first, this needs to be a sidescrolling 2D game. It needs to either be an Adventure game (like Monkey's Island) consisting more of dialogue and puzzles than combat, or it needs to be a Platforming game (which is mostly combat, but can have some storyline as well). What do you think? Any ideas on the subject matter? Any vital /x/ topics that need to be in the game? The time to brainstorm is now! You will decide what 2D sidescrolling type of game it is, and as the thread continues you will decide who the main character is, what the major plot points will be, what types of enemies, villains or badguys will be in the game, and more.

So we've already had some practice at doing this the ole /x/ democratic way. Here's a screenshot for proof.
This time however I'm going to give /x/ a little more time to make these decisions, we are in less of a hurry since this isn't for the Ludum Dare competition and there's no deadline! I do have an arbitrary deadline of 1 week on myself though, so I won't be distracted too long from the main project.

While there will be /x/ OC submissions in the /x/ edition of the FPS game this game cannot accept any artwork or music volunteers unfortunately, it just gets too messy and can lead to our game submissions being yanked from
itch.io and other publishers. So, we have to roll with existing royalty free libraries of content that I already have the rights to use, I hope you understand!

2D Metroidvania meets Silent Hill. Certain spots will trigger the transformations into a darker variant, which has nastier enemies, and a higher chance of the resident jumpscare/Pyramidhead. No weapons in a metroidvania would be an interesting take. Content? Hmmm... Haunting would be fun. Make the game itself haunted, with it messing with the player's head, making them think it's messing with their system... lots of fun.

It can end up getting things yanked. As a principle and safety precaution we simply can't accept volunteer artwork or music for this project. A way to safely accept community submissions may be implemented later, it'll most likely be for the FPS game (the main project). So hang tight!

You can also add in a friendly spirit that is able to take control of the hauntings throughout the tower to help you out(the higher you go the hauntings are more difficult to control.)

Well, that and when dream people tell me I wont wake up.
One time there was even background music where the phrase 'screams and dreams' was shouted repeatedly, it was actually kinda funny at that point.
