whats the purpose of giant monoliths like these why waste your time on a island in the middle of nowhere just carving rock? found a cool documentary about this place called Easter island. the islanders all claim from their legends that the statues moved themselves and they never had any advanced carving tools when they were discovered in the 16th and 17th century and even tried to destroy by toppling them.
