The diner scene in Mulhalland Drive was the only thing in decades that's made me NOPE the fuck out. I guess because of the impending dread. You know it's about to peek around that fucking corner. But you also know it's going to be fucking -terrible- but you are compelled to look at it anyway.

Looking back and looking at the video the face isn't even that scary. It's the whole 'death march' of the build up to actually seeing it.

Varies from person to person. Doubt you'll find one that makes you lose sleep. I liked The Babadook though. And if 'm remembering the name right, The Eclipse was good. Irish horror movie.

I think my favorite part of the film is where Amelia sees the true form of the Babadook but has no idea at the time.

It's also a rather maddening scene to describe.

Okay, unless you are really dense you figured out the Babadook is just her darker half manifested. But I mean there's a realllly creepy scene when she's staring at this 'thing'. I don't mean the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka demon thing. I mean like a doppelganger of herself. The actress just fucking nails this intent, predatory glare. This look of -pure evil-. That's scary as Hell to me. So if you were curious as to what the Babadook looks like they show you. It's Amelia but with absolutely no shred of humanity. A cold void 'shaped' like her. That's some next level shit right there.

Perhaps, but horror films can still find inventive ways to frighten its viewers, and that's why I keep wanting new movies. Whether it'll cripple my mind or not, how it achieves its goal is the entertaining part.

The last time I was terrified of a movie was when I was quite young, and I watched Shaun of the Dead. From there, other zombie shit just made my fears worse... but now I'm fine with watching zombie flicks.

Also, Tremors scared me, and I blame my parents for showing me that as a kid thinking I'd find it funny. I couldn't do anything but tiptoe on open ground for weeks.

Some movies that scared me that I've never seen mentioned The Exorcist 3 and Pet Cemetery. Maybe it just goes without saying. The Exorcist 3, I thought was almost as good as the original
