Make a spiritual drink. Its in time for the season.

First acquire white wine and pure honey, not the fake store bought stuff though.
Go find several fresh pinecones. Take apart the pinecones gently by picking them apart.
Start boiling equal portions water honey and wine.
Once at a boil add the pinecones.
Boil for 30min until you have little liquid left.
Drink the syrup and use the pinecones as incense after.

Offer this up to Odin and the Spirit.
Watch good things return

Do you have any ancestors that were norse?

Are you comfortable sacrificing animals/objects/people?

It might help to actually learn how to read and use the rune(s) you used to start this thread. Futhark is pretty neat either way.

I had a dream of Valhalla, in which Odin greeted me warmly and we took a walk around. I do not worship any gods but I have to admit I feel sudden peace when I think about that dream and Scandinavian countries feel like a perfect place to live. Since September I would often find myself thinking about empathizing with some god of nature.

I live in the desert and the closest fresh pinecone is 300km to the North. But the rest I can get easily.

The Celts practiced a polytheistic religion that had some overlap with the Norse one. But ultimately the two types of paganism were fairly different.

There are a lot more well documented rituals under when it comes to Celtic paganism over Norse paganism. You might have an easier time of that.

Then again you might have some ancestors that you're not aware of. The vikings liked to fuck a lot. Go check ancestry .com or something.

If you're going to do anything with them make sure you know what they mean and how to use them.

Each symbol has 3 meanings. A name, a symbolic meaning, and a phonetic meaning.

These early religions believed that writing something was a very powerful thing. To use words, especially if you set them in stone. Was incredibly powerful. The culture believed that words shaped reality around them. To say something was nearly the same as to have it happen.

That's part of why there were so many epic tales created in this time. Also why cursing someone was a huge deal. You wouldn't say or write something if you didn't damn well mean it.

Yup head north. The entire region will be frozen within the next short period. Not immediately but relatively soon. I too follow Odin, Zeus, God, Ra, and believe they are One, guiding us. As far as creating your own runes, OP, it's totally fine. But you'd most preferrably get a set elsewhere first, familiarize yourself with the runes and their meanings, then cut your own when you were well prepared. It takes a good amount of time to make your own set.
