Personally I don't live in the US and I haven't actually been diagnosed with sociopathy. However I've been forced to see a shrink (among other things) over violent behavior. She diagnosed me with depression and paranoia. Depression I can accept I guess. Paranoia idk, she said that just because I owned a gun. Like I've never actually been in danger of bodily harm and I'm making everything up.... And what if I wanted to own a gun just because regardless of any of that? Can you feel the bias here? Shrinks have that power to push their personal opinions and prejudices down your throat, just like priests do.
