When I look at something, anything, for a few seconds, it stops maintaining a solid form ever so slightly. I'm pretty sure it's a hallucination obviously, but the thing is, it isn't constant or involuntary. Well it's somewhat involuntary, but It's only when I stare at a wall/object too long. For example, if I stare at a wall for a few seconds, it starts to move slightly like waves, like it's breathing almost. Why is this? Am I crazy and I just don't know it?

>>16911606 Happens to me too, I think it's your brain getting bored and tricking you because it doesn't have enough stimuli or something like that. Don't quote me.

>>16911606 Its called disassociation.
Its a symptom of many severe mental disorders, but it also occurs with people who have simple anxiety and/or PTSD.

Meh I do this shit sometimes. It probably helps if you've done psychedelics before so you know how to trick yourself a little but yeah, your eyes and visual brain is a strange beast, filtering and distorting information all the time. There are little elements you can manipulate just slightly even when you're sober

>>16911642 I have ptsd or so I've been told.
I don't know a lot about mental disorders and I don't feel keen to research them because I don't want to self diagnos or label myself as "unwell". But someone I know seems to believe I might have a dissociation disorder, I think it was disassociate identities or something. So it's relevant to your comment. Mind you my friend is not a medical professional and I think I'm fine.

When I have an attack the first thing that changes is everything stops seeming solid and real. Like...chairs or whatever seems like theyre made out of air. Maybe consider the psychology route before you go full "its paranormal!!!!1" Good luck

>>16911734 I don't think it's paranormal. This is just the best board to ask about mental problems as most of the people on x are versed in the details of being mentally unwell.

Kind of related. When I close my eyes I see something similar to black and white security camera footage. I can see a window and the outline of trees outside it. Sometimes I can clearly see humans moving about and going through doors, they have baseball caps on and just random shot like that.
